didnt click on the link but I have seen tons o guys sneakin mini digi cams that take photos in low light without flash apparrantly the lense stays open for an extended amount of time. I rat them out every time.
Have also seen those tv expose shows whereas a guy has a hidden camera and propositions dancers for extras, sad thing is so many of em start rattling off price lists...
Guess I have had my head in the sand, there are so many prostitutes in our industry. The proof is on film.
Yes that would be my main concern. I would freak out if I see a customer with cameras on their cellphones trying to take pictures of dancers talking or dancing on stage.
That would violate our rights of privacy when we dont want pictures taken in the club. And to think it could be in the wrong hands of people. Customers like that would try to sell pictures jus to make money off that.
I would have to report it to the manager if I see that going on and I hope they wont give them their camera or phones back after they're caught cuz who knows who they send the picutres to.

So far I don't think the cell phones with cameras have flashes on them, or are advanced enough to take any decent pic in such low light. I have had guys pull out a camera and sneak a pic, but if a flash goes off the managers come out and warn the guy. They can't allow that because too many customers don't want their wives to catch them in a strip joint. It is irritating to have those guys sneaking pics when I don't know it's coming. They try to get the bent over or the spread eagle shot--not cool if i haven't agreed and charged them accordingly.
my biggest concern with the cell phone cams is that they can capture "evidence" which can show up at very inconvenient times (like when trying to plead innocent to violating a local dance club ordinance).
My ex has the smallest vid. cam i have ever seen. Of course technology is his job, but that thing is small.
It does not even look like a video camera. Think Motorola came out with it, could be wrong.
But i wish i could get a picture of it, because it is as big as my Nokia cell phone, maybe smaller. And i have had pictures taken of me before inside the club in Lauderdale. No flash!! Could not believe it. He had a regular camcorder though, but small as well.

they're banned in my club but I don't know how effective the sign at the front door is!
most women i work with would be VERY mad about someone taking their picture while on or off stage.. if we wanted our bare ass to be shown to everyone we would be on web sites instead of on stage.. we have people that we dont want seeing us half nakid.. and i have to say that a picture of mine being taken while i was at work = you being sacked.... with my 7inch shoes.. i have enough shit to put up with.. and i would feel sorry for the guy that just tops off my shitty day
I go to a gym where they have been banned - apparently someone got caught posting pics from teh change rooms on the net! [grr]
Yup, they work without a flash like I said...you may NEVER know you are being photographed and or filmed for some illicit use elsewhere.
And there always signs at Bars n such "cameras not allowed" but who listens? I mean he is sneaking pictures in the first place doesnt exactly put him high on the list of abiding rules does it?
Hey Chad you must have been CHOKED, man! That is a really private thing - and then to consider WHERE these pics may show up...like a GAY website, then it could effect your work, perhaps you family and your girlfriend, the repurcussions would come in waves, all because of some freak and his mini cam. It could come before all kinds of scenarios and ruin future endeavors for you. I would be pissed as hell. Look at american idol the one blk woman early into the show was reported she did porno - they canned her - thing was after all was said and done she never did ANY nudity but did a small clip in the beginning of a video covered (albeit a negligee but not NUDE as reported) and that was it - but it ruined her status and her dream was taken away.
WE CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE, for real. Sometimes I am glad I am so uptight and or paranoid about crap, even though "others" choose to give me grief over it - WE CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE!
I hope you get something done over that Chad, I cant tell you how much I empathize with you.
Wow..... all sorts of stuff bubbling up about this. Clearly, most of us (all of us?) don't have a prob with being SEEN nude. Most of us don't have a prob being PHOTOGRAPHED nude. Where the problem lies is with CONTROL. I want to think that I have at least SOME control over who sees me naked and when.
When I start exploring that grey area where the sex industry intersects with feminist issues (both areas of VERY personal concern to me), the big issue is one of CONTROL. As dancers (and feminists), the sex biz is a reasonable biz as long as WE are the ones selling the service rather than being exploited (without fair compensation) for what we sell or, on the other hand, being forced to sell something we don't WANT to sell.
There are LOTS of different aspects of the sex trade. Different girls are comfie with different aspects of it. Dancing topless (or nude, in the right club) is fine with me, but I wouldn't do an X-rated film, for example. However, I don't have anything against girls who do -- it's just not my level of comfort. If I found that someone was filming me (a Peeping Tom) and releasing that stuff in a porno-film without my permission, I'd be mad as hell.
The same is true with dancing. If I dance, it's MY business and I'm in control. If you photograph me WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and use this for your own benefit, you've exploited me without my control. Frankly, that's true whether I'm naked in a club or fully clothed on a city street (although, admittedly, the law says otherwise on a city street.)
This is so funny this has come up because 2 weeks ago I was giving a table dance and near the Main stage and I noticed a couple of guys looking into a cell phone with video of a naked girl dancing on a pole. I then looked up at the stage and noticed the girl on main stage was actually being filmed with there cell phone. I ran to a bouncer and they took there phone away. And kicked the customers out.
After this incident I have resigned to the fact that you can never be 100% sure you are not being videoed at work or anywhere for that matter. I'm not going to live my life in fear. If some perverted weirdos want to take images of me while I'm not aware of it then who cares! They're loosers!!
At the Lusty Lady, visitors photograph and tape us all the time. These tiny cameras are impossible to catch most of the time unless the guy is blatantly holding it in your face and using a flash (btw, the best pics come out without the flash, hehe) . At first I didn't like it and called security, but lately I don't mind, probably because we are closing in May 2003 and I kinda feel for these guys that won't have anything to remember us by. So if you guys want to sneak pic of me, hurry up before its too late, hehe!

Wow... It is going to make me think twice with doing any full nude open leg work during the Exotic Angels Heats that are happening next month...
The club is one thing.. it can be policed to an extent whereas with this competition... there will be ALOT of people (mainly guys of course) there and who knows who will be taping it with their cell phone or what have you.
Looks like I'm going to have to be imaginative as they will be looking for open leg work of some kind or another during one's performance.
Funny this is posted here now. I just had this fear this week while working. I have actually jumped off the stage and destroyed film from cameras belonging to people who have broken our no cameras policy. But then, how would you know w/o the flash. The club will usually destroy the film from a camera but what would they do with a cell phone..tell them to delete it and trust that they did...and how would you know if there were a bunch of pictures. This freaks me out because I don't allow photos taken of me even though we can sell poloroids because I dont want my face out there as a "stripper" when I decided to move on. I will however allow my cute little tooshie to be photographed :-P But trust me, if I catch a guy with one...it won't be easy to stop me from destroying his phone and his ego!
I say give em something really worth remembering, like say a 6 inch spike heel to the temple sounds about right.
I have No tolerance for losers sorry!
