Should I lie?
I went to the pink pony, and they refused to even audition me, once they found out that I only have 2 weeks exp..darn it!
The house mom was like "OMG only 2 weeks experience? Come back in 6 months, that is our min!"
They didn't even look at me really!!!! I drove in the rain 20 mins to get there!! I had talked to someone on the phone who said you didn't need experience...ugh.
I was soooo friggin mad! A lot of pple told me I would do very well there, girls at my club, clients, etc...So I know it isn't about me...what should I do? ???

Re: Should I lie?
If you're having a problem @ the Pony in ATL, try working some place else for a while. Look under the Club Chat section and scroll through reading all of the different postings on the Atlanta area. There are lots of them. The guy that my best friend is long-distance dating lives in Atlanta, and in all honesty, he's a "strip-club junkie". His favorite club to go to is Cowboys. I don't know ANYTHING about it, but he says its a nice place to hang out, buy dances, and just have a good time. He said that the girls and management were all very nice. I'll ask him about other places in the area to check out and let you know. He is friends with lots of dancers, so he can give you an honest opinion about the different clubs from both a customer's and a dancer's perspective.
I'm sorry that things didn't work out at the Pony, though. I've worked for the Galardi South Ent. (the company that owns all of the Pink Ponys, Goldrushes, Masters, Crazy Horses, etc. They have about 60 clubs all over the country)for about 2 1/2 years now and I've had great experiences with them. Like I mentioned before, try some place else for a while, but I think it would be worth your while to try to go back to the Pony later. They really have turned out to be a great company to work for.

Re: Should I lie?
A girl tried to audition at our club saying she had experience and everyone knew she didn't. First, her moves were off. Her outfit was Victoria's Secret lingerie and her shoes were something you would find at the mall. Not that these are bad things, but there are tell-tale signs that a girl is an amateur.
Also, and if they said experience was not required and only after they saw you did they say it was, maybe they were trying to reject you in the nicest way they knew how.

Re: Should I lie?
It depends on who you talked to on the phone...they might have not actually known the clubs policy...they could have just guessed.
One time I called this club and asked what time and days they hold auditions and they told me Mon thru Fri. Well...when I got there it was on a monday of course, the manager of that shift said they only hold auditions tues and fri. So, be careful on who you get the information from, they might not know what they are talking about. Ask to speak to the shift manager.
I wouldn't lie about how much experience I had. They can tell just how experienced you are when you get on stage.
Go back in six months...I bet they will hire you then.
Good luck ;)

Re: Should I lie?
I would not lie either, just take it with a grain of salt. Maybe polish your dancing skills some. If need be. Then, if you like the place enough to go back with an attitude about dancing, go for it.
Dress sexy not sleazy, and win them over. It can be had. In the mean time i suggest visiting the place some, check out the dancers, their style clothing etc. Go with that closely. Lotsa luck... :D :D

Re: Should I lie?
No, they didnt even have a chance to SEE me before they told me about the experience thing, before I spoke to anyone, I was wearing street clothes, and carrying my dancers bag, when the house mom asked me in the lobby where I worked before...so it was def not a rejection, I would have been waaay more upset...lol I hate rejection...I need to get a thicker skin I guess.

Re: Should I lie?
I do agree that I need more time though, to practice and stuff, I appreciate the feedback. I was pretty upset cause I had bought new outfits that day, with one of the girls from my club, she has worked there for like 2 years and has been so helpful. LOL I was just dying to show my new clothes off. ;)
Fire Woman, it would be AWESOME if you could tell me of Atlanta clubs where I wouldn't be competing with girls who give "ball grinding" lap dances and other extras.

Re: Should I lie?
Guess you'll have to audition elsewhere. Good luck ;)

Re: Should I lie?
Good luck F_G,
no matter where you go, a nice club sooner or later is going to snatch you up! ;)

Re: Should I lie?
If you feel you got what it takes regardless of experience then I say LIE.
I lied my freakin ASS off when I started dancing, but before I hit a stage, I bought all my costumes each pay day while still working as a secretary. So I hit the stage with full pro stripper gear, music and heels.
You are a former gymnast so poise and grace should come natural to you... I was in modeling all thru my teen years so the stage was already my friend, I "runway walked" to the beat with my head held high, I OWNED that stage! LOL!
No one ever knew, not even the agent who came to see my performances --I never got busted, and went from my first week as a co feature to a feature within 2 months!
I said I had been at it a year, adjust the bullshit to fit what you feel you come across as, whether its padding your resume/experince by a month or two - or six if ya damn well have to!

Re: Should I lie?
Every club does not require an audition. in places like Texas they just hire you based on what you look like in street clothes and some will look at your body on the office for excessive stretch marks or tattoos.
In just depends on local format or the club. Hell, tell them you danced in another state on the west coast. No one knows where you've danced and they either will hire you or not.
Go on to different clubs until you get hired at one. As they say, only tell people what they want to hear. The truth is not necessary in this business.

Re: Should I lie?
Exactly what I mean Tina. The last thing this business can be is fair lol! As long as you strategize, its all good.
