Re: Getting brave...finally
Are you talking about Stars Cabaret in Portland, Oregon? If so, I can give you very detailed advice.
Re: Getting brave...finally
Yes, the little lacey boy shorts with the little lacey camisole that matches work well - you can probably find them cheaper then victoria secrets if you walk through the mall. If you're really white, don't wear black.
Is it a topless place or a nude place? Either way, out of the top by the end of the first song, out of the bottoms for the second song, and if it's nude take your thong off at the same time.
They'll probably let you watch a couple sets first. Smile, be soft... you're going to do great! :-)

Nope. I live in Central Oregon, so it's Star's in Bend. I'm not going there though. I don't think I'm a stars kind of gal. Those girls are pretty in the basic model Barbie sense. Cute little pixie wouldn't fly there I don't think. There's a new place in Redmond, that's really my only other option. Except supposidly the R&R but I'm not familiar with it, and heard it's super skeezy.

I haven't heard anything about the club in Redmond. I think you could do fine at Stars once you get your 'stripper wardrobe' together. They're just picky about costumes and stuff.
I think it's so funny that clubs are popping up in central Oregon; I spent some of my growing up years in Prineville so I can hardly imagine.
Re: Getting brave...finally
Hey girl! You are so cute, you would do great wearing a burlap sack. :-* But in the mean time get yourself to Wal-mart or Target and get yourself some cute (cheap) bras and panties and maybe a nightie and a real bikini to get through your first couple of shifts. Also wal-mart has great deals on stay up stockings or thigh-hi's.
One or two outfits will get you through your first few shifts as well as a pair of clear shoes (goes with anything) that you can get at any store that sells prom type clothes (cheaper than the dancer store). Sears ,believe it or not, has some great looking high heels at under $30, and you may also find some great looking shoes and undies at The Bon Marche' for less than what you would pay at the dancer store. And never underestimate the power of a feather boa!!
I'm sorry I won't be able to cheer you on as I will be in Montana duing your first week dancing, but I wish you all the lick in the world, and hope to be working with you soon.
One word of warning: Don't overindulge in alcohol. That is a terrible cycle to fall into. Would you get drunk while at any other job? Just keep that in mind and save the drinking for while you are off work.
Good luck, and I look forward to working with you soon ;)

*blushes* Umm, I think outside in the feed shed I have some empty 50lb grain bags from when I kept my horse here. *laughs* Oh, you didn't mean that literally?

Montana uh? *starts scheming* Could you bring me home a cute cowboy? Just tell him I'm really good with my rope, but I just can't figure out how that darn piggin' string works.
I totally just remembered that there's a lingerie outlet store by my house. You gotta know what you're after, but sometimes they have really cute stuff. I'll have to check around for shoes. I have a pair of black ones, but they're only 4 inches. Funny, when I bought I was like "Damn! These are sooo huge!" I was thinking a good bikini too, wonder if any stores have them in yet.
I'll see how it goes. Thinking I'll audition Thursday night. I have an agreement with myself. Stop being a coward, go audition, and if it works out I'm gonna splurge and take my horse to the show this weekend.

Hey,
Much luck to you smurf!!!
I danced for the very first time last night, so I know how you are feeling. :) :D I was anticipating a raging case of stomach butterflies but thankfully that didn't happen. :) If it's encouraging, I have been thinking about dancing since I've been 17 (a year) and just finally got around to it. I loved it. Really. Being onstage is the greatest feeling of freedom. You will be awesome, the guys will love it. Knock 'em dead girl!!! ;)

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I have zero intention of consuming any alcohol in big old shoes. Sprained my ankle once in life, that was plenty. 'sides, drinking has completely lost it's novelty now that I've gotten my "just turned 21" drinks from all my friends.
However I must say we had a great company policy at the stables. Fall off your horse, buy a half rack for the other wranglers. One night we were all drinking and roping ponies. Yeehaa!

Seriously though, good luck girl!
Re: Getting brave...finally
If you show half as much spirit onstage as you do in your posts, you're gonna knock 'em dead! Wear the "Boys dig me". Have fun!

Re: Getting brave...finally
Go out there and knock em dead! You can ride a horse, you can ride the crowd. Actually horses are much harder to ride as a newbie!!! Lol.
It's all the same Smurf, bounce, bounce bounce. Lol. And you will do a fine job. You will find something that feels right to wear, give them a show! Just look down on them as shetland ponies, not Percherons!
Lotsa luck, and cheering! Pamela :) ;) :D

you know, Pamela, for someone who's apologized a few times for a supposed poor command of the English language, you sure do come up with some great puns sometimes. :D
Smurfy, don't sweat it, with your personality and great sense of humor, you'll be great... just clean any manure off the bottom of your shoes first. LOL! ;)
Re: Getting brave...finally
LOl, ALanna....i rode horses all my life. And Smurf and i were in chat one day talking horses. Mine died at 32 years of age!! She's a fellow dancer and horsey gal!
