Audition success!! thanks everyone
Hi everyone~
I posted a few days ago asking for advice and was overwhelmed my the great responses. I felt so much more confident going in to audition!! Much thanks ;) :)
So today was audition day!!
I wanted to work at the upscale clubs, so what do I do? LOL....I walk my audacious self into "The Landing Strip," which is known as the best club in Detroit. I thought I might be over reaching myself, since I'm 18 and never danced, but I wanted to see how I measured up. The girls were awesome and made me feel completely welcome. One of them directed me towards the club manager and after he checked my ID (I'm a young one :)) he took me in the back room with one of the girls and had me take off my top and pants and twirl around once--- lol...i guess to make sure the T&A was in order. And then he asked me if I had a license and when I wanted to work, and that was that, I was hired!! I didn't even have to get onstage or dance. So It was overall a painless process, though I am sure I can't expect everything to go this easily! ;)
I feel so great right now it's unbelievable! I got hired at such a great club right out of the gate, the girls are fantastic, *sigh* I am a happy kid. It's such amazing self confidence. Even better, when I was in the main area, all of these customers were asking me what my name was, if I wanted to have a drink with them, etc etc. LOL...so I haven't even taken a shift and I'm already working the floor! My first shift is Monday night, and there are already guys I met at the club today that are going to come to see me.
I'm probably rambling, but I'm just so so excited!!! ;D ;D
And thanks again everyone for all your help!! It made a huge difference. I felt so much more prepared.
Wish me luck for Monday, I still have to conquer the stage and lap dancing!!!! With as much of a natural high as I am feeling right now, I feel like I can do anything!
:D ;D :) ;) 8) ;D :) :D
P.S. Pamela, you will be happy to know that "Katelyn" (that's how I'm going to spell it) won for the name game!! :D When I was talking to the guys on the floor, I was aksed my name, and that was the first thing that popped out of my mouth! It's a fabulous name, and I love it!!

Don't worry about the stage, if you got that kind of response just walking around the floor you'll do fine. I actually love putting women onstage who have never danced before, and make sure all the guys know it's her very first time,"on this or any stage". The guys just love this, it's every man's fantasy come to life, the girl next door gettin' naughty--and what a beautiful girl she is...
Also , you are in luck if the other dancers are cool and like you, at one place I worked we always got everyone who worked there to gather round the stage tip her, and cheer her on her first time. This of course always got all the customers up there too, except the jerks, and that was their loss. Find a couple of the coolest ones and ask them to come up and tip you, even if you'e not nervous,it'll help. You can always give them your own dollar to tip with, this will help get guys up there for ya. But I have a feeling you won't need the help...
Have fun!

Hey, congratulations and hope you're in the business a long, long time ;)

Congratulations, that's awesome.. one thing I have to warn you about is the novelty of being new... When you first start dancing at any club you're pretty much fresh meat for a few weeks. The guys who are regulars at the club (most likely those guys you met on the floor since they're coming back Monday) will jump all over the chance of any new girl. They will test you.. they will lie to you, they might even try to cheat you (i.e... "Well, the other girls do it all the time!" or "so and so does this").. Even if they are lying or telling the truth don't listen to 'em if they try to con you into something. Learn the rules and learn em well. You will do amazing for your first couple weeks with all the "I'm new.. I'm nervous" talk (and play that up guys will buy it everytime)... But after a couple weeks the novelty of being the new girl wears off and you need a new game plan otherwise you will suffer a slight dip in earnings (I've seen this happen to sooo many girls) .. so learn as many of the classic hustler moves as soon as possible so you have a good idea of the game when "Hi, i'm new wanna dance?" doesn't work anymore. Good Luck!!

Congrats! You must definitely have the "goods" in the T&A department to be hired instantly at the most upscale club in town, and without an audition! These are definitely attributes that the majority of girls don't share. Of course, you're also 18 years old and apparently look even younger, which also helped!
Another word of caution in the future - working shifts at the club will expose you to lots more reasons to fill up on junk food, convenience food, etc. You'll also probably find yourself partying a lot more and sleeping a lot less. I would recommend taking a good look at yourself in the mirror every morning, as well as keeping an eye on the bathroom scale. Remember that it's real easy to form bad habits in a hurry, and those bad habits can quickly erase your youthful T&A advantage!
