Question on lap dance "positioning"
Ladies,
I'll probably by kicking myself when I find the answer to this.
??? I'm not sure why this bugs me, but in all the lap dances I've gotten over the years, there's something that I've always found rather peculiar, how dancers insist I sit in the chair.
I'm almost always told to scoot my butt forward in the chair, (practically do it by habit now).
Some dancers insist I have my knees bent and my feet flat on the floor, others would rather I keep my legs straight where they're at an incline.
Just wondering what the reasoning for this was, and wonder how you've handled it when you give dances. Is this a personal preference or it is something mandated by the club policy or local law? Could the type of furniture or the size of your customers body frame (I'm not a big guy so there's not a lot to sit on) possibly have something to do with it?
Any input would be welcome.
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
That's funny. I usually just ask guys to keep their feet apart so I don't trip over them. I don't really position guys that much otherwise.
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
Oh thank you colettecall that's another one! I've had some girls have me spread my feet like that, but then again others have asked me to keep them together! ??? That point taken, I'd assume its a matter of personal preference.
The more I think about it when I've had dances on a chair with casters (oh the horror), the girls have definitely preferred I keep my feet FLAT on the floor. I guess in that situation, they're the only things anchoring us in place!
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
Maybe it's like positions for sex, we all have our own preference :-)
I prefer the position you described... and I'm really thinking hard trying to figure out why LOL. I guess it has to do with the perfectness and artisticness of the whole thing - just like a gymnast always has the paralell bars (is that what they're called) adjusted in a certain way, we want our men adjusted a certain way. When I'm kneeling on the floor I want to be able to reach one hand up and play with you're hair and look straight into your eyes and just barely brush your body with my breasts - I can't do that if your bodies back against the chair. I want to be able to sit in your lap and arch back against your shoulder, which I also can't do if your lap is directly under your shoulder... there are lots of things I do that I can't do if you're not in the right position.

I've pushes a guy's hands out of the way on the armrests so I could balance myself there, or put a leg up there, or whatever.
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
It may have been requested you move forward and reposition so she could grind
you better.
Not that I know from experience or anything.
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
well think about it, if you are sitting up straight, you don't have much lap... mostly the tops of the thighs... scoot your butt forward and you have more lap area, including...

Even if we don't do extras, doc, we still want access to your groin. ;)

Like Lena says, it probably depends on their favored moves. I think, as a dancer, you get accustomed to a certain sequential flow in your dances, but the grace with which you can execute the moves depends on having a certain consistency in the setup of the physical space in which you execute them (did that make sense?). Lena's example of the parallel bars was a good one.

I would've wanted you to scoot forward and keep your feet flat on the floor, with your legs about as far apart as the chair legs. Sometimes I would ask guys to scoot forward, but the leg positioning could usually be accomplished non-verbally (a few gentle pats or strokes did the trick).

Definitely a personal preference, though I think that girls develop their lap dance moves in accordance with the (formal and informal) rules of the club...so indirectly, it may be related.

Absolutely. Big guys fill up the chair, so you don't have to tell them to scoot forward. I actually found that a customer's body type had some effect on the quality of the dance I was able to give. I could do a perfect dance for guys who were on the big-built side: not fat, but tall and big-boned with nice thick thighs. I seem to recall that skinny young hip-hop boys who wore their pants slung low had a tendency to spread their legs real wide and sit with their backs slumped against the back of the chair and their hips thrust way too far forward, and I often had to tell them to scoot back a little (because they were taking up space that I needed to use). (Incidentally, those low-slung pants they wore prevented them from having as much fun as they could have had if they'd worn something less ghetto-fabulous :D)
It's really all about giving an optimal performance. You want the guy's legs far enough apart that you have some room to move between them. You also want him far enough forward in the chair that, even if you're not doing a full contact dance, you can get your important body parts as close to his important body parts as possible....And not least of all, you want to maintain your balance on those f*cking 7" plats!
That was actually a good question, doc.
One of those little details I always noticed and meant to write about, but never did...
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
The only preference i've ever had is for the guy or gal receiving the lap dance to be comfortable. I'm real flexible though my hips/knees/legs so I can pretty much work with whatever position they're most comfortable with. :)
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
Eww , they ask you to sit your butt closer to the edge of the seat ? so they have better access to your crotch ?? I ALWAYS ask guys to sit back further in the seat to avoid contact with their crotch ..... as for the leg things I dunno I have only ever asked a guy to spread his legs and keep his feet apart enough that I can dance between his knees , I do this ( as do most dancers ) so that I wont trip and also again to keep the contact at a minium . It is almost always a personal preference however some clubs ask for this so that they can keep a better eye on the dance to ensure low or non-contact .....
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
I'm pretty much the same as bostondancer - I always preferred the guys to sit up straight in the chair to avoid the crotch as much as possible lol. I'm like, "sit up straight, feet apart and either below your knees or under the chair, hands down to the sides and don't move!" That was due to both my personal "don't touch me" rule, and the fact that it was a strict non-contact club.
Re: Question on lap dance "positioning"
Damn, I've started a Lazarus thread! More activity on here in the last 24 hours than in the last 2 1/2 years. I guess some topics are never truly dead.

That's generally what I've found to be standard position for chair dances.
One particular gal who wanted my legs angled at 45 degrees was who confused me. Mind you that chairs are her club are NOT optimal for dances (rounded lounge chairs with arms AND casters), so I would have even less traction than usual. Doing a traditional "straddle style" lap dance would be out of the question here. I asked her her reason for wanting my legs pointed out like that, and she said that it was because she was short, but then I've had a lot of short girls prefer me flat footed.
I guess its mostly a matter of how my stature meshes with the dancer's stature, and the type of furniture the dance is performed on.
