Breast augmentation support
This is a bit cheesy but I need some support girls. I getting my breast done in two weeks but I am a bit scared. I know all the facts I read on it, but still it would be nice to hear about what some of you girls went through went you got yours done. How long did you say away from dancing? How do you feel about your breast? And is anyone getting there breast done soon ???

Re: Breast augmentation support
... Piece of cake! Actually, the worst part of my first boob job was the aftereffects of anesthesia. Generally, a first boob job hurts pretty bad for 3 days, and quickly starts feeling better after that. Under the muscle implants usually hurt more than over the muscle, and also take longer to recover after surgery.
Basically, if you are getting over the muscle implants you shouldn't think about dancing again for 4 weeks. With under the muscle implants, you shouldn't think about dancing again for 6 weeks. Going back sooner risks pulling open an incompletely healed incision, or possibly shifting an implant out of proper position. The time away from the stage may cost you some money in the short run, but great looking implants will definitely make up for it in the long run income wise.
Please keep us posted as to how things turn out. I'd also love to hear how your average earning level changes after you get your implants.
If there's one piece of advice I can give you, it's to be sure and ask for large enough implants the first time. For my own first surgery I let the plastic surgeon convince me that 300cc implants were plenty big. However, after I got them, virtually nobody noticed any change in my bustline. I went right back for 500cc implants as soon as the doctor would let me. But the second surgery cost me $3500 more, and cost me 4 more weeks away from the club, than if I had simply stuck to my guns (pardon the pun) and insisted on larger implants the first time.

Re: Breast augmentation support
Tini,
I'm getting mine done in Jan. Just wondering how your surgery went? How painful is it? How big did you go? (I'm going up two sizes, but my surgeon says he thinks it would look better if I only went up one.) Any general advice? I'm scared outta my mind.
Thanks,
Jasmine

Implant sizes for dancers ...
... I've had every cup size from D cup to the second half of the alphabet, and if you're house dancing you'll find that there are three types of guys - some guys simply HATE implants, some guys LOVE implants, and some guys don't care as long as your boobs are big! If you've made the decision to get implants, you're going to lose business from the implant haters no matter what size implants you get. You're also going to gain some business from guys who love implants. However, the amount of business you get from the third group DOES depend on the size of implants you choose.
As a house dancer, I found that I made the best money with DD cups 850cc. These were big enough to draw attention from across the club, but not so big that they looked freaky. My D cup 500cc implants did OK, but the DD cup 850cc implants did significantly better income wise - I think the reason was that there were other girls in the club with D cups.
Once I decided to get into featuring and got even larger implants, though, my club earnings went in the other direction - I made about the same with FF 1350cc implants as I did with my old D cup 500cc implants. I had to get into the 3000cc ballpark to start drawing serious big boob feature work.
Another thing to keep in mind is that many plastic surgeons are used to dealing with housewives, so they tend to shy away from using bigger implants. There's also quite a few doctors out there who will recommend a small set of implants the first time with a pretty good idea that the patient will wind up coming back for a larger second set within a few months (and being charged a second plastic surgery fee - kaChing!). If you haven't told your plastic surgeon that you are an exotic dancer, be sure that you do, and ask for as many cc's as he thinks he can safely fit in!

Re: Breast augmentation support
Thanks for the advice. I used to be between a 34D-34DD at 95 lbs and 4 ft 11, then I dropped my bodyfat way down, and lost over 2 cup sizes. Funny how the rest of me firmed up, but essentially stayed the same size, lol!
I just want to return to my former size but my surgeon keeps telling me I will look "top-heavy". I even brought in one of my old bras & pictures, because he said I had overestimated the size of my bustline.
Thanks for answering, now I know that I am right for insisting on the larger implants.

Re: Breast augmentation support
I'm a small person too 5'3 115 pounds 34-25-38 I think DD would be way big for me...lol. D's would go fine with my booty. ;)

Re: Breast augmentation support
Hi!
I had done mine a year ago. Recovery is not as bad as you think. Just really sore for 3 days. You need somebody to take care of you for at least 48hours.
You are about my frame. Breasts size is really personal but I am happy with my D cup chest( I was small C before the surgery) and sometimes I feel it is too big in normal life. However I saw other dancer around my frame with DD cup chest they look amazing and they make killer money.
No one should not change their body for business purpose but it really depends on what you want.
I hope everything goes well recovery is easy for you.

Re: Breast augmentation support
i have under the muscle implants. i had a lot of pain for more like 2 weeks! i didnt go back to work for 8wks. i went from barely a b to d. i am very happy with them , they look natural! money has gone up quite a bit and has stayed consistant since. i wouldnt mind being a double d now.. but they are so perfect now i dont want to mess with perfection.
as for the dr. that wants to do it his way i.e the size he wants. i would maybe get a second consoltation. unless you dont have enough skin to support the size and from what you said that doesnt seem to be the case. i dont like a dr that wants to do what he wants not the patient

Re: Breast augmentation support
I heard went you have it under the muscle you cant do pole tricks cuz it hurts. Is that true. Also what the difference between having the implant under or over ???

Re: Breast augmentation support
About the breast surgery...don't good surgeons want to keep the implants in proportion to your body size so you don't turn out looking freaky? I am a 38 C. Happy with them, but gravity takes it's toll on natural boobs. I have thought about a lift maybe sometime. (Big if.) But i see some ladies with implants at clubs and the boobs don't seem to move or jiggle around much. Does that hurt business or help? I have seen some so high up you can set glasses on them. And others way too big for the persons body size. I know it is up to the woman and what she wants, but what happens in the future? Will they have to come out one day maybe 20 yrs from now? Or do you eventually have to downsize? I have read about some models recently who had them taken out, or went smaller. Was that because of health issues? And is it dangerous to put implants in the body these days? No matter what type.
Sorry for the questions, i am just curious about women who get implants, and why?? What does it do for you? Is it a self esteem booster? Or a conversation piece?
I guess i would really like to know the main reason women get implants these days.... Gosh it's all hard to put into words.
Always been curious though :)

Re: Breast augmentation support
The reason I want implants is I miss my boobs! I thought I hated them. Everyone thought they were implants, no one believed that they were real even when I told them. I hated that! I used to get told they were to big for my body, or they were to high to be real!
I never thought that I would, but I miss the cleavage. Plus they look a little droopy to me now. My Dr. says they are not saggy, they are just regular boobs now. I guess I would probably be happy if I had great legs, or amazing abs, or a perfect behind, but I don't, and the boobs (along with my eyes) were always my signature feature.
I guess I just don't feel like me anymore!
Oh, and I thought about changing surgeons, because of our disagreement about size. However, he is the most experienced surgeon in my area, with the lowest record of complaints. I don't want to go to someone with less experience, just because he thinks my frame would look better with a full C or a small D than a DD. After all he is still willing to do what I ask, he just stated his opinion. He kinda has a point I'm 4ft 11in & 95 lbs.

Re: Breast augmentation support
oh ok i understand now jasmine. it looks like youve done your research on your dr.
pamela yes a good surgeon will take into consideration what will be best for you as far as proportion. example my surgeon did most girls a full c but they were alot younger without children. i wanted a full d and i had one child and had nursed. so even tho they were very small they had a natural 'hang" so now i have a totally natural result.
tini... yes under the muscle will cause pain for some time with pole work. i never really did it so it wasnt an issue for me. i would think you wouldnt want to work that muscle to hard in case of making it mis shape your implant... now i dont know that for sure so dont quote me on that. the reason most people get under the muscle is #1 no ripples!!! i'm sure you have seen girls that you can see every ripple in the bag of there implant, #2 the muscle supports the implant therefore giveing you little to no sag after years of having implants. over the muscle boobs will eventually sag like a natural breast. i have had mine for almost 5 years with only a tiny, tiny diffrence in how they hang. hope this helps
oh yea and as to why ... i always had small ones so i wanted noticable titties, with or with out danceing!!

Re: Breast augmentation support

Re: Breast augmentation support
Yay!! I was soooo happy to see this topic when I signed in today :) I have just scheduled an augmentation for mid-feb. I really haven't gotten all THAT nervous yet....prob'ly cuz it's so far away. But I have had bouts of second-guessing my decision. I really love my breasts - I just want more to love ;) But I'm afraid that they'll turn out looking very obviously fake. I really want them to look natural. I've seen too many dancers that look as if they have water balloons plopped on their chests. Plus, I know there is a risk of losing nipple sensitivity. This scares the hell out of me!!! I don't know if I could even have an orgasm without this!! Did any of you girls that have had yours done experience any loss of sensitivity? And if so, how severe was it? Is it in both or just one? Does anybody know the probability of this happening? Also, another concern of mine is the removing of the implants. I'm sure like 20 yrs down the road I'll want to remove them. Or what if I don't like them and want them removed? Has anyone had implants removed??? Does it ruin your breasts? (ie, saggy, wrinkly, sstretched out, ect.)How do you correct this? I do not want to risk ruining my natural breasts. I am also second-guessing the size I picked. My surgeon left it pretty much up to me how large I would llike to go, but he warned about going too large right away - said it was better to wish you had gone a little bigger than to wish you had gone smaller. I am about 5'9", 145lbs but I only have a large b-small c cup size right now. I'm going up to approx. a D cup. But my breasts are different sizes. One is almost a whole cup size smaller than the other, so this one will take a lot more saline to make them equal. Do you think this will be too large to do the first time? What will the risk of stretch marks be? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to get as much info as I possibly can. And I find it much more beneficial coming from someone that has had it done firsthand, rather than a crappy website or a male doc. that has never been through the process himself. Thanks in advance for all your help!!! ~lotsa luv~

Re: Breast augmentation support
If you want implants for personal reasons, then your own personal esthetics matters. But if you want implants for business reasons, then you need to balance your personal esthetics against the virtually certain fact that dancers with petite frames and DD cups earn at least 20% (if not more like 50%) more than the same girl would with C or D cups while working as a dancer. Plastic surgeons WILL set their personal esthetic judgements aside if you TELL them that you are a dancer and that there is a legitimate business reason for wanting DD cups! After all, if getting DD cups makes even a $100 a week difference in your earnings, over the course of a single year the extra size will have paid for the $5000 mplant surgery all by itself!
Remember that you can always get smaller implants again after you retire from dancing Yes you can have them totally removed (and I did at one point after a complication with foreign made custom implants) - they eventually start to look like natural breasts again but for a few weeks they look like tennis balls in a sock until the skin tightens up again.
Another implant fact to consider is that smaller implants, besides having smaller "forward projection" (which results in a smaller cup size) also have smaller diameters. If you have a small rib cage (like wear a 32 bra) then the small diameter implants needed to go from a C to a D cup will wind up looking OK. But if you have a larger rib cage (like wear a 36 bra) then the same one cup size up implants can wind up leaving a 2-3 inch gap between breasts where your cleavage should be. The only way to get bigger diameters to reduce the width of the gap is to also get bigger "forward projection" with a higher rated implant.
In regard to nipple sensitivity, except for the "through the nipple" placement method which is notoriously likely to cut nerves and cause sensitivity loss, other implant placement methods actually can result in an INCREASE in nipple sensitivity. This is because the implants stretch the skin so that the nerve endings wind up closer to the surface! Also, the bigger the implants you get, the more the skin will be stretched and the more the sensitivity might increase.
As far as stretch marks go, some girls are prone to them and some are not. Implant size doesn't really have a whole lot to do with it (unless you try to go 3 or 4 cup sizes in one surgery). You can also help reduce the possibility by starting to use Cocoa Butter on your breast skin NOW before the surgery so that it is more pliable.
As far as winding up with natural looking implants, without a doubt there is no substitute for silicone in the natural department. But silicone implants might be a problem if you want to try and compensate for uneven natural breast size, since your doctor has to order the silicone size(s) pre-filled and permanently sealed, where he can adjust the amount of saline put into saline implants. If you or your plastic surgeon have a thing about silicone, teardrop shaped saline implants are also available which wind up with a more natural shape than round saline implants. Of course, lots of guys go crazy about the round, firm and fake look too. .

Re: Breast augmentation support
Thanks for the information Melonie. As i have always wondered why women got implants. Now i am learning from women who actually have them. Who knows better!!!

Re: Breast augmentation support
i did have mine through the nipple with all sensitvity lost in one for about 3 mos but it all came back... (and you cant see my scars)even when i thought it never would. i had full sensitivity in the other one from day one. like i said before mine look so natural, and i have round saline implants i firmley believe that it is for the most part the talent of the surgeon as to how the final result is, and of course how you heal ect of course. i would never recommend silicone, as i am old enough to have seen the side effects of many women that had them before they were "outlawed". i know there is a resurgance of doctors willing to do silicone, but i would not recommend it at all.

Re: Breast augmentation support
I'm the wierd one here -- I got a Breast Augmentation AFTER I quit dancing. I'm sure, though, that if I go back to it next summer (which is what I'm currently planning), the BA will mean a big jump in income.
I'm 5'4" and weigh 117#. I WAS a 34-barely-B before the BA. I got 450cc McGhan smooth round unders with a transax incision, and now I'm a 34-DD and sometimes (depending on the bra) 36-D.
First, why 450cc? One thing you may note if you talk with a LOT of girls who get a BA -- go one size BIGGER than you think you want to go. I was HOPING originally for a full C or a D. However, implants actually end up looking smaller than "natural" boobs because the implant is usually (but not always) bigger at the base and has less projection (more on that in a sec.)
There are two major makers in the US -- McGhan and Mentor. If you have a small ribcage (mine's 29") you'll want to consider McGhan because they're slightly smaller at the base and have slightly more projection, so you don't end up looking like your boobs are growing out of your armpits. I got unders cuz I wanted to look a little more natural, but yes unders do take a little longer to heal. Also, I had very little "spare tissue" before my BA, and overs really require some spare tissue. (Overs is what you'll want if you've been nursing babies and have floppy boobs!!!) I got smooth, round implants because there is SOME history of the anatomicals "turning" and the textured implants CAN lead more often to capsulary contracture. I went with a transax incision (armpit) because I didn't want to risk severing the milk ducts in my areola, cuz later down the road we want to have kids!
The rest of what the other girls have posted is pretty much dead on the money from what I've seen. Good luck!!!!

Re: Breast augmentation support
Susan you have a nice cleavage. That's the size that would look good with me. So thanks for posting cuz I have an idea of how much cc I should ask for. ;D

Ariel, here is a link to a page that features before and after implant jobs.

Pamela, I think BA jobs are risky. I know a lot of women get them done with no problem at all, but I had a few friends that had problems after a few years. Both of them suffrered from deflation.
