Thanks that is really good to know. I have been working in Toronto and am sick of guys trying to touch me! Apparently its not allowed here but it happens... ALOT.
So what about the rest of California? Anybody know?
Business is back to normal in LA - regular lapdances, no 6 foot rule. Read the article on the Forum's home page for more info. There are some clubs here that are strict on the no touching - 4 Play is one of them. They have a website, I believe.
Krys, San Diego is about the only city in California which is truly no contact. Clubs in the "greater LA" area have slightly less contact that is typical in Toronto. Clubs in City of Industry and other "burbs" are more or less equal to Toronto. Clubs in San Francisco make Toronto seem like low contact. Obviously this may not hold true for every single club in these areas.
Are you a Canadian citizen ? If you are, you're going to need a student visa or work visa to work in the better US clubs. This is a result of the Patriot Act, which requires all US "employers" to verify the identity of potential "employees" and subjects them to penalties if they hire 'illegal aliens'. This is a big deal in California because of the huge number of illegal Mexican immigrants there, but it also affects people from any other country as well.
Thanx Melonie... Who would of thought it would be some much drama to get naked whilst swinging round a pole and wearing big heels! I am actually a New Zealand citizen but was looking at getting a visa... I really don't know what to do though as it is a big expensive hassle..... I am know thinking of going to Guam instead, I know it is contact there but not to sure how much exactly.
Is this new about no contact in San Diego?
I've traveled there twice for business (most recently about 9-10 months ago), and all 3 clubs I went to it was actually encouraged by the girls. Tops and bottoms were both covered.
This was The Body Shop, Little Darlings, and Cheetah's.
well, the San Diego anti-dance club ordinance says contact is illegal (as well as fully exposed tops or bottoms), and the local cops enforce the ordinance. However, it's not surprising that dancers in this area offer and encourage contact even though they may potentially be busted for it, since it must be extremely difficult to earn decent money just doing no contact dances in bikinis ...
San Diego vs San Francisco has to be the most glaring example of the "confusion" in the exotic dancing business. In the same state, one city won't even legally allow topless or light contact private dances and vigorously enforces the ordinance, while in another city full nudity, full contact and extras are available and the D.A. is on record that he will not even enforce the state prostitution law inside clubs. This means that from a realistic legal standpoint, SD dancers providing light contact while in a bikini are at more risk of being busted than SF dancers providing BJ's.
Melonie-
Yeah, I was kinda surprised. The only other clubs I had been to in Southern Cali were Jet Strip and Bare Essence (I think that was the name) outside of L.A. They were both no touch, and much more expensive than the San Diego clubs.
I figured the reason the San Diego clubs were like that is it is so close to Tijuana. I've never crossed the border myself, but have heard you can get alot more there than in a SC and for alot less.
outoftowner, a TJ + BJ = HIV !
Having worked in San Francisco, in what is very euphamistically called a dance club that offers "private" dances - it really should be an incall where you never know what you'll get or how much it will cost - I know that contact in the lower end, at least, is the norm. Although, to be accurate, the cover wasn't low - it was $80 for a private 20 minute full nude strip dance, the joint was just low class. The instructions to new dancers were "what goes on in the rooms is none of our business; so just take care of business discreetly."
I know that while this place is a little on the far side, there is a good portion of clubs in the Market St. area/TL area that are nearly equally as 'contact friendly'.
