Unfortunately there isn't a lot of leeway due to the unique nature of the laws governing dance clubs in the county. They allow nude plus alcohol, but zero contact (a dancer can't even touch herself let alone a customer), can't have her feet more than a few inches apart etc. The only formula that seems to legally make big money in this environment are upscale show clubs with primo dancers selling table dances for heavy drinking white collar conventioneers.
That's the thing about the area i'm looking at Mel. City / county codes allow full nude, no distance requirement, 7 day operations, no stage height requirement, basically an owners wet dream..........gotta love the south!
If you have time slide over to municode.com and check out chamblee georgia. if you do let me know if you see any legal shit I should mention to my lawyer.....he's looking into it as we speak.
Thanks Melonie, for this one and the other reply!
from a theoretical standpoint I agree entirely that Atlanta is one of the better managed, very business friendly environments in which to operate a strip club. But from a practical standpoint, it bears a little research exactly what you and your new club would need to do in order to successfully compete for the white collar upscale businessmen's dollars against the well established, well funded, well "protected" upscale clubs such as Cheetahs, Gold Club, Pink Pony etc.
There ARE other clubs in Atlanta which find that they can't compete directly with these upscale clubs, so they know better than to try and wind up having to offer a "different sort of entertainment" in order to attract sufficient dollars from a "different sort of customer" to be profitable. I would dare say that the legal fees and payola associated with these "different sort of clubs" could cut pretty heavily into your profit margin.
There is also another possibility, that your brand spanking new totally legal totally inspected totally approved show club might suffer a tragic accidental fire the night before your grand opening. You might want to have your attorney do a little research in regard to the existing Atlanta show club owners and their affiliations, if you catch my drift.
Oh I plan to hun, just because I want my hands clean in this doesn't mean they always were.
I don't actually plan to give these guys any problems, I'll be across town and I have a few people who can provide a shield from that type of " accident " to a certain extent. Ex officials who are friends of friends etc. All I'm interested in is producing income, I don't want to be the biggest / best club in Atlanta ( not yet anyway ) but I damn sure don't want to starve either. Also, in regards to the " different sort of customer ", can't fuck with that....what-ever the girls do off the grounds is fine by me, but if I wanted to have a hand in that I'd buy a cadillac and a purple suit : P
My main concern is pulling in quality dancers, who in turn bring in regulars, more dancers etc. Pretty much build a solid foundation for the furture of the club and myself.
I need help finding a place to work in atlanta. I don't know where to start. Please help me?!?
Well, well, well.... another Vet just trying to make a living LOL... I'm over her by Ft. Gordon in Augusta trying to figure out which club to work for over here.... SGT Wood, have you ever been to any of the clubs in Augusta? If so, please tell me what you thought of them :)

Hey there-
I danced in ATL a few yrs. ago B$ The Gold Club shut down. I have talked to some people who still live there to see where they are going. I danced at Tattletales. I don't recommend this place for money. The CHeetah is upscale, I have heard Magic CIty was a party atmosphere. One guy mentioned Flashers, and another Boomers. I wish I had more info, but thought this might be a helpful start. :P
Obviously the most recommended places to work in ATL are the Cheetah and Pink Pony. They are upscale gentlemens clubs and also may have a waiting list for dancers because there is such a low turnover. ALL clubs in ATL require you to have a permit which can cost about 200 to 350. Depending on what kind of clubs you are looking for (local bars, or upscale) the money and "limits" are going to vary. If you decide to go for upscale gentlemens clubs (Pink Pony, Cheetah, Oasis, Masters, 24Kclub,and Maxim) then they have more rules for the dancers and customers such as, no touching (obviously), only air or table dances, no tattoos or piercings unless they are classy, and rules as to how you can dance when your on stage. At the local bars,(Flashers,Follies, tattletale Lounge, Doll House, Rileys, Fannies, and babes), they are more laid back about the rules, but at SOME, are too laid back. You see alot more "extras" going on in the local clubs because they don't bring in as much money as the higher end clubs. However if you go to a club that has alot of regulars (which you normally find at the local clubs), then you can make alot of money that way. Either way you decide to go, your going to make $$, but you also want to find a place that your going to be comfortable at, were you get along with the staff and coworkers, and most importantly SAFE.
be sure to visit the clermont lounge on a night off.
