S-W Ontario
Just curious if anyone, on their travels, has ever danced in, or has known anyone who has had experience dancing in any South-western Ontario (Canada) clubs.
I do know there are a few of you here who've danced in the vicinity of TO; however, I'm more interested in any info, from a dancer's perspective, regarding clubs in the Tri-city [K/W; Cambridge; (Guelph)] area.
[i.e. Motor Inn; Mirage; Grand Tavern; etc].
Thanks. :)

Re: S-W Ontario
I know this is kinda a ways from where you were asking, but I have just started working in Fort Erie, Ontario. I have only worked there one night so far, so I really dont know what do think, but I do know that dancing in Canada is WAY different than in Buffalo...it will definitely take some getting used to!! (I live in Buffalo and have never danced anywhere else until now.)

Re: S-W Ontario
Thank you, Theresa. :)
Yes, that is a little out of the way for the person in question; however, if we're ever in the Fort Erie area again soon, we'll be sure to stop in.
Again, thanks.

Re: S-W Ontario
hi tre,..i've danced in kitchener, and cambridge (both no smoking) and it's not too bad (just too much travelling from london for me) i heard that guelph is really gotten dirty,, personally i dance in london and the money is pretty good..some days suck, but that's pretty normal anywhere you go. i just heard the travellers got raided recently as well as nikki's in paris..you really have to watch out for the cops, especially when the tri-counties are in town...$300 fines bite :(

Re: S-W Ontario
Holly day, A friend of mine who works in Ontario told me about Nikki's I don't know if it is the one you are talking about she said it was close to wood stock?
Well, she said it reminded her of that movie Salma Hyick was in Called "From Dusk Till Dawn" the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere and was'ent open till 4pm I mean in the middle of nowhere not in a town or anywhere just off the high way!
I'd like to know your take on it ?

Re: S-W Ontario
Theresa, I'm just wondering how much hassle you're getting at the border when you cross from Buffalo to Ft. Erie and back ? I'm also curious as to how high the mileage levels are in Ft. Erie clubs these days.

Re: S-W Ontario
Manor - high milage and then some.
Kitchener has been VERY slow....(dollhouse)non smoking.
Cambridge slow as well. Non smoking.
Any particular club?

Re: S-W Ontario
Well, Tre was originally inquiring so that I would have an idea of what places to check out, should I choose to work in Canada. Roxxanne's was the main place I was looking at, due to it's clean reputation. After checking it out, I realized it just wasn't really my cup of prudish American tea.
Although we were driving through Cambridge the other day, and one of the clubs (Traveller's?) was being demolished.

Answer to Melonie~
It is actually not a hassle at all to cross the Peace bridge from Buffalo to Fort Erie and back. I just tell them I am going to work, sometimes they will ask to see my visa, and then I am on my merry way. Getting back into Buffalo is just as easy. However, it is pretty high contact in Fort Erie; the only rules are that customers can't touch between your legs and can't suck on your tits, other than that anything goes...But I still choose to work there over Buffalo b/c you only pay a small floor fee in Canada and the rest of the money is yours to keep, as opposed to Buffalo, where $5-$10 out of every dance goes to the house. :-/

Re: S-W Ontario
Thats hilarious Tre - an A & W? ZOINKS - lol!
But it sure has been slow, although slow every year around this time or up to this time you decide - but this year in particular I find. And it seems quite widespread. I hear the old standbys such as whiskey up north still busy and you can always getta buck out of Lancaster on queensway but many surrounding clubs and the downtown clubs - YES even the rail are at an ALL TIME low. More so than ever.
Pure Gold aways out into oakville almost was doing great business but just did a rules change and seems cut into customer attendance enough that they are losing a majority of customers. They renovated and started clipping a fee for everything which was mildly tolerated but I hear dances have changed to table dancing not lap and absolute air between customers has resulted in an empty bar. Thats the word anyway.
I hope you find something somewhere and it works out well for ya'll to be together.
