Plan to work on Valentine's Day
It's been my experience that Valentine's Day is great $$$. This is because you still have the business travelers (no national holiday), but it seems lots of DANCERS take a holiday. They want to have a romantic date with their boyfriends, so the number of dancers working is really pretty low -- so lots of customers to pick from. Also, this year the long President's Day weekend falls right after Valentine's Day -- the night before a major holiday is good money because nobody has to wake up early the next morning. So, cancel those fancy dinner reservations you made for you and the old ball-and-chain. work work work !!!
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
My boyfriend has to work on Valentine's Day >:( , which really sucks. I guess I should have made those reservations early. He is working in the service industry. I'm not looking forward to spending that day by myself, but I don't want to be dancing for other men that day either. I guess I'll just have to be alone.

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
I worked on Valentines Day and the club was VERY slow.Business travel is still down and the local guys where I work are the older married type who come in during the day . We still had 31 girls on the night shift, and business was slowww. There were several couples in the club, but we are not allowed to dance for women and couples in the area of town the club is in.Business is still not like this time last year. A high end club depends on half of it's business coming from out of town men and we have to be down on that figure by at least half.:( ??? :'(
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Last year I made $140 for an 8 hour shift at a $20/dance club. The year before, I rocked $450 for 5 hours at a $10/dance club.
It's hard to say this year. Business seems to be better than last Feb, but I think it depends more on the type of club you work at. I found younger, single college type guys will hit the clubs and blow their savings on you (usually a whopping 50 or 80 bucks) but the higher dollar-champagne room types will stay home with the wife and kids.

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Tina, Your club does not ALLOW you to dance for women and couples??? That sounds very odd to me, and I would look into finding a new club in the area, as this can be a great source of income to both club and dancer. I dance for women every week, and for couples a few times a month, and although this is not the majority of my income, I certianally get more dances from male customers after performing a hot table dance for a woman or couple. I always approach the woman sitting at a table and ask her if she is interested in a dance, she will generally say no, but anyguy who is sitting with her will usually buy her a dance, and one or more dances for himself!
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Not sure i normally don't work on V-Day. I may try to hit one club and see whats happening. This year i am in new territory, so i may want to feel it out. I have heard lots want to spend time with kids, wife, other family. And we may still have some snow birds down visiting, so looks like it may be Disney for them. ???? Lauderdale it was hopping it seemed on all the hollidays. Guess i'll test the waters up here. Pamla
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
I think I will work the noon-8 shift. I am pretty sure guys will stop in on their way home from work. I don't think they will not stop by during the day because it is Valentine's Day. The night shift might be a whole different story. After work I will most likely spend a quiet evening home with my sweetie. :-*
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
I can't imagine why any guy would want to be seen in a SC during V-day or the week of for that matter. Typically, I'll go about once per week, but even I wouldn't want to be seen the week before or the week after Valentines Day. I'd rather stay home, rent some DVD's and order a pizza. What do you guys think. :)
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Valentines day is like any other day to me! I will be out blowing my money just like any other day of the week! ;D
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
No boyfriend this year. It's actually just been a year so I think I'll go to work and make money, keep my mind off the sappy weepy memory lane, then spend the money to pamper myself to look good for a new catch!!

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Guest - I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at, but I would guess that V-day might bring the lonely hearts out to the SCs. Are you saying you wouldn't think guys would want to be seen as one of them, or that staying home would be more fun for them than the SC?
No GF for me this year, but it falls on a Friday so I'll be out with my friends rather than at home or a SC, though if it were during the week, I'd probably go. It's better than sitting' home feeling sorry for yourself.
Ladies, here's a thought for those working V-day: How about extra-lacy purple/red/pink/etc. lingerie outfits at work to set a sexy-soft romantic mood for V-day? Might be just what the guys who do go out on that day are looking for.

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Normally I wouldn't work on Valentine's day, but this year it is on a Friday and I work on Fridays anyway, so I still don't know if I am gonna work or not. I have a kind-of boyfriend but I don't think he is going to make any elaborate plans for V-day :( so I guess going to work is better than sitting home alone. At least maybe that way I will get SOME V-day gifts...
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
well on the plus side there probably wont be alot of girls. i'm not working, i work out of town and i dont want to be away from my hubbie all weekend. also i believe it will be pretty slow, although you will get the lonely hearts out there.
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
V-Day is hit or miss like any other day........ I have a few good ones though from out of town travelers who were lonley....... last year I pulled over 400.00 and almost all of it was from one gentleman who spent the same aon myself and 2 other girls, and champane all night.......
He didn't want to be alone for V-Day..So yes it can work out for you if you get the luck of the draw..
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Never worked V-day before. I am this year, and will let everyone know how I do.

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
I'd love to go visit the ladies at my local club on V-Day considering my significant other is well...non existent.
:(
But then I figure the same thing that you girls do. My favs will all be out with their BF's or husbands. So I tend to avoid the clubs on that day, just like any other holiday. Besides I have to work that night this year, so I wouldn't be going anyway.
Since the subject of Valentines Day was brought up, I'd just like to say that my favorite V-Day hero is Al Capone! ;D Not to sound morbid, but that kind of sums up my sentiments of it.
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Do any of the girls have stories about your regulars bringing you gifts for V-day. Is it a safe bet to say if you see a guy at a sc on V-day, you're automatically going to think he's a loser. :)
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
This is actually the first year that I have received gifts from a regular, he got me a big stuffed animal (which I got on Saturday) and I still have flowers and chocolates coming this weekend. He was going to get me jewelry but I told him I don't wear jewelry (I don't) and that would have just been to weird.
And, I am not going to judge guys who come to a strip club on Valentine's day so long as there ARE guys who actually come in, b/c I want to be making money that night...not sitting around bored! ;)
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
No, I wouldn't think someone is a loser simply because he's in a strip club. If so, doesn't that make the dancers losers also? I think not. Not everyone has a relationship at any given moment, so not having one on Valentine's Day is no different. It's just a reminder for those WITH sweeties to be nice to them!
I'll be working for Valentine's Day, so if anyone wants to show up at my club and be my sweetie for the night, I'll make him a happy guy for the evening. :D
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
Yeah, I'm thinkin' of it ;)
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
So, would it be a safe bet that any dancer working Valentine Day is unattached (i.e.: no S/O)? And to take it a step further, that all present, male and female belong to the lonely heart's club band? And to go even beyond that, that if a seemingly cordial discourse took place, that would mean the girl was truly into the guy? I mean she wouldn't try and take advantage of the poor slob now would he? That would be wrong. Wouldn't it?

Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
i did'nt work last valentines day
too depressing when ur single
im going in today for purely financial reasons!!!!!
Re: Plan to work on Valentine's Day
I worked Valentine's Day. :( Not good. Since it fell on a Friday which is usually a $$ night for me... it was hard. The club I'm currently work at (Players) doesn't usually have that many couples come in due to it costing $20 per couple ($10 p/person)... ladies are not let in for free.
DAMN! We had alot of couples come in that night and only a few of them had private dances... most just sat around with their SO.
There were plenty of times when other dancers would be walking around a little frustrated/bored because they had approached all the men (not attached) and the couples weren't buying dances either.
The amount of men entering the club did decrease on that night however the number of couples increased.
That Valentine's Day tainted my view of it.. I won't be working another Valentines again. It was a Friday and I was lucky to make near $200 where I made over $300 easily.
