Hair Fresheners...
For years I've been using a product from Loreal's Studio line, which is a hair freshener - they made a warm & cool scent - and it was formulated to rid your hair of the smell of smoke - both were wonderful scents.
About a year & 1/2 ago, I found that they were being discontinued, and I bought like 6 bottles of it. I have NO idea why they took them off of the market - they were the only hairfreshener products that actually lasted and worked!
My question is : does anyone know of any hair fresheners out there? I don't like using body sprays or perfume - the alcohol content is too high and it's not healthy for the hair. Plus, the formulations for hair fresheners keep the smoke smell out longer. There are so many hair products, there has to be a decent one....
thanks ;)

Re: Hair Fresheners...
Two words: BIG LOTS. They have discontinued beauty products out the wazoo and the golden rule here is if u see it one day, buy as many as u can or politely, perhaps with monetary sweetness, ask an associate to hold/hide the rest of them so that u can come back and buy them all, b/c once its gone its gone. They buy discontinued stuff on consignment from warehouses so they never know what it'll be or if they'll ever have it again.
I used that Studio Line stuff when i first started working at clubs and it works wonders. I bought like ten from a local big lots for $1 a bottle and haven't seen it anywhere since. I remember it used to retail for $7.
Another cool thing. If there is a l'oreal plant in ur area there is always a discount/discontinued product store near the factory. Look in the yellow pages.

Re: Hair Fresheners...
I just have a simple product from avon i use. As i have never used a hair freshener. But i will say for small bucks i dust a light amount of Sweet Honesty powder through my hair. My hair is blonde, but a few other friends i have use it too and they have dark hair. It is very good for when you don't have time to wash your hair, as it absorbs oil up, as well. And the scent is light. You cant see it. I flip my hair under neath and put it all through my strands. One drawback, i have to carry it with me and apply it a few times a night. But it keeps the smell of smoke out of my hair. I love it for an all over everything, i even put some in my shoes. I live by it, because i don't spray perfume on me. I fell in love with Sweet Honesty at a very young age. Pamela~

Check out www.bathjunkie.com
Their body spray is alchohol free and comes in a million great scents. You can't order off the website, but the phone number to order is there. A 4 oz bottle is 7 bucks, an 8 is 14, I think...........

Re: Hair Fresheners...
OMG - so it DID get discontinued. I swear by the L'Oreal stuff, and had been wondering why I could no longer find it. Damn them.... maybe someone has a lot of it for sale on Ebay? Seems like oyu can find everything else there....
Honestly, the only other things I can thinkof are CK ONe spray, which neutralizes odors well (a bachelor friend of mine uses it to -ewww- freshen his dirty laundry), or a light mist of Febreze. Otherwise, the only other thing is a light-hold hairspray that smells super-fresh. You could spray it on, and then brush or comb to remove any stiffness.
There is also the fabric-softener method - using a softener sheet on your hair in conjunction with a quick round of warm air from a blow dryer - this will also help kill staticky hair.

Salon Selectives makes a hair-freshener called Air It Out. You should be able to find it at your local drugstore.

Re: Hair Fresheners...
lovely-
i've been away for a week and came back to various options - all of which I'll have to try until I find something that comes close to the l'oreal freshener. I have like 1 and 1/2 bottles left.
It's a damn shame.
Thanx, ladies!

Re: Hair Fresheners...
Ok here are some good ones from someone who knows.
I wear my hair in either weaves or braids so I can't wash my hair every single day. I clean my scalp wit h Sea Breeze (sound funny but it works) and use a good hair freshner. Here are some of the ones I use
Gucci Envy Scented Hair Shine Spray. It's like $25 bux but it works and it has conditioners and vitimins in it. Only downer they only sell it in dept. store counters but I scored mine at Century's but I think Macy's, Sak's, Henri Bendel has it also.
The Body Shop Freshen Up Hair Freshener
My first hair freshener. You can get this at any Body Shop
***My absolute favorite since it has a slight mango scent: Sebastian Dry Clean Only Hair Freshener I paid $11 at my salon and it also smells great. You can get it at finer salons and drugstores.
I hope I helped. I had the same problem like four years ago when Freeman discontinued a scented hair polisher that I absoulutly adored. Its funny I found cases of it a flea market in NJ (we hava alot of makeup manufactures in NJ including Loreal, Revlon and Casswel Masey).
You shoud also look on any of the online beauty stores. They always sell discontinued products.
