Yes, it is true that some women do experience minor lumps in their breasts just before that time of the month. Even so, if that is not what you are experiencing, don't feel all hope is lost. I've read in various places before that approximately 80% of all lumps that are found are benign.
This site is great: http://aolsvc.health.webmd.aol.com/c...434_6505_00_06. In addition to lots of info on breast cancer, there is also a description of various types of benign lumps that it could possibly be.
I do know exactly how you feel because I was in the same position you were about 5 months ago. That's when I started looking into all those sites like the one I mentioned. With me, however, it actually turned out that I was pregnant (which I ended up miscarrying), which wasn't what I had exactly been hoping for, but definitely better than what my alternative worries had been. I hope everything turns out alright with you. Good luck with your exam, I'll be praying for you!! :-*
Hi Lexi, i went through the same thing. However, right before my period i get real sore boobs, and lumpy. It is called cystic fibro, like Candigrl said. That is one reason when we woman are supposed to check our breasts for lumps, never do it around period time. The best time is 2 weeks after your period, your lumps will have gone down. I was told by my doctor to up my calcium intake around this time. (period time.) And i had a biopsy on a small lump many years ago. It was fine. Just to watch it in the future, it's been 8 years now, no change. Bigger with my period, smaller when my period goes away.
Try not to worry, (i know easier said than done.) i will be thinking of you. And say a prayer. Pamela~
