Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
Hello everyone.
I have been reading many posts on the board and have found them all very informative. This is a great place, and I hope someone here can help me. :D
Anyway, I have been interested in getting into exotic dancing for quite some time and I have been to many websites, but what I am looking for is feedback from real dancers and people who have danced before to help me.
I am short, around 5'3, and I am 120 lbs. I have tried exercising and eating better and it is really hard for me - mainly because I can't find anywhere that has something that would work for me. As I have been reading, I have noticed many of you say that cutting carbohydrates down is the way to go, but I do not know what foods to avoid and what foods have relatively low carbohydrates. Also, is there a daily limit for them? I have found no information on this. :-/
If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it!
Thank you all very much!
Danielle

Although not a dancer; if I may: ;)
Here's a few sites for you with carb info. I only skimmed for general points of information, so it may not all be relevant, but they should be of some help to you. :)
I will point out that limiting carbs in your diet may hinder more than help.
Totally depending on your activity level.
Before deciding to limit carbohydrate caloric intake, it's best to match your level, or type of activity with your diet.
Some of these sites explain the nature of low-carb diets.
[As a disclaimer, I hereby state I do not personally recommend, nor endorse any methods nor info stated in any of the links provided. LOL ::) They are simply for information purposes.]

(By the way, at 5'3 and 120, in my opinion you have nothing to be concerned about. :) There's nothing saying you have to be 'perfect' to become a dancer.
Perfect is just a rumour. ;)
Re: Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
Thank you very much for the websites! I really appreciate it. :) Mainly what I am worried about is my porportions. I hope they will become more "perfect" or like closer to 10 inches apart because now I am NOT porportional at all. I am 35/29/34B which is bad I think to be in this like of work, and I will probably have to have augmentation but I am hoping low carbs will help me.
Anyway, thank you again!
Danielle

>"I will probably have to have augmentation"<
If you do go that route in the future, be sure it is your choice, because you WANT to;
Not because you think you "have to".
There is no mold in which you have to fit into.
[I'm not preaching here, so please don't get that impression ;) ]

Re: Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
I knew some girls at tiffany's who made TONS of money and were VERY popular with the customers but didn't have the greatest bod's in the world. The trick is all in your personality and your smile, NOT in whether you have a fashion model's bod.
Get your butt to some clubs and talk with some girls. Try out somewhere and get some feedback. Get up on stage at an amateur contest. In other words, sis, nothing like getting started to get you started!!! 8)
Re: Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
Thank you for your feedback. About the augmentation, I do want it. While I am nervous about "bad jobs" and such, I would like to change them and I want to have it done in the future. Thanks for saying that though. I don't think I would even do anything I didn't want to do (willingly), though.
I guess I should just go for it anyway. I am putting it off because I am nervous as hell. Maybe I should start drinking tea and practicing yoga. Of course, I doubt that helps when you're under the bright lights and there are people staring at you. :)
Thanks again for all your help!

Re: Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
You're welcome; and good luck, if, and when you do. :)
If you are ever looking for excellent recommendations, or advice on BA's down to a science, lol, I'd suggest asking Melonie at [Shameless plug]~http://private.stripperweb.com
As well as many of the helpful members here, of course.
Just thought I'd mention that as another source of info for you.

Susan-
Are you still moving to phx. I remember you asking about the clubs a month ago. Tiffany's now Christie's is great! And I totally agree...a huge part is your personality..if a girl is having a bad day and she brings that with her to work..guys can tell and won't really buy dances. Yes your apperance matters but guys like all kinds of different girls..so make the best of what you have and then go do it! ;)
Re: Interested in becoming an exotic dancer...
We THINK we're moving to Phoenix, but if we do, it will be next summer, at best. If so, I'd like to dance somewhere maybe one night a week. :D
