apply makeup* that is..... :)
Hi Cali, What do you use for hair removal?? I soak in a hot bath and shave with a good mens razor. Heat softens the hair shaft and actually helps losen the pores a bit (don't believe in the old pore opening bit.) Use lots of shaving cream , (i find mens products work great for anything when it comes to shaving.) or a non irratating soap and start to shave slowly, and NOT againt the hair, go in the direction of the hair. After i am done if i have a few bumps. I quickly apply ice, makes them feel good and takes my itch away. When dry, put on a "cake" makeup, this makeup is what they use on alot of our models, its hard and sometimes has to be a little wet to apply. Dries quickly. And it does stay on. When you are done working always wash the makup off. And always buy the makeup in a tone that matches your bottom skin very well. I have done this for years off and on. It can work very well. Pamela
I find that putting deodewrand on the area helps after shaving to prevent razor burn but as far as ingrown hairs go, just keep an eye on them - shave regularily and if you notice an ingrown hair starting free it with a steriized pin.
Hope this helps

exfoliate! it's key in keeping the pores open and clean before shaving. Pamela's right in the good men's shavers. The Turbo Mach 3 is absolutely supurb (though a girl here informed me that it's made by Gilette who conducts animal testing, so I'm looking for a razor that's as good). Also, Noxema makes a tiny razor for bikini lines - this will help to get the small areas.
Bikini Zone (i think it's made by Sally Hanson), is also a good product. I've not had any problems with ingrown hairs (maybe like one or two, which I pluck out), with the razor I use, but before this razor, I'd use Bikini Zone. Also, it helps to use a mild astringent on the area after shaving/waxing to help close up the pores and rid the area of excess sebum.
If you cover up the ingrown hairs w/ makeup, make sure that the makeup you use doesn't contain mineral oil. It's just more ingrown hairs or even breakouts waiting to happen!
