going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
I know this topic has been addressed. But I would like to bring it up again. Whenever I have checked out nude clubs, I have always either seen completely shaven or the landing strip effect. I, on the other hand, don't really care for either. I wax a little bit more than the bikini line, and trip the rest very short. However, I like hair, aesthetically speaking and also for comfort reasons. I have apparent inner lips, and the hair just kind of frames it. Without the hair, I think it looks too protruding. I am checking out a nude club in my area, and I am curious if this will work against me.
I'm also curious about the hair that travels further back (if you know what I mean!!). I try to maintain that as much as possible, but I can't shave it all off because the irritation is too much to handle, not to mention it looks rashy. I'm afraid to wax it off (oh the pain!!!). What does everyone else do? Honestly, I don't even know how apparent mine is, but I am self-conscious about it.
bald like a baby.........almost
Wax, wax, wax, wax, wax. I've been waxing since I was about 13 because of the cut of danceteam, cheerleader, majorette suits and because the one and only time i shaved was horrible. It has taken years to get rid of the scars and marks that shaving left, thank goodness for retin a. But, I wax to damn near a brazilian, the only hair we leave is the hair around the pubic curve that is too difficult to get at comfortably. I still trim it down a lot though so i look pretty bare. I don't get nude, but i love the way it looks. Sometimes I wax around my crack sometimes i don't. It depends on how thickly or sparsely the hair has grown in. Waxing, to me, is a necessary twenty or so minute evil. It keeps the hair from growing back as fast and I can say the one time i decided shaving my crack was a good idea, I scratched like I had "little visitors" down there for days until the hair had broken the service and the area was thoroughly exfoliated.
It wasn't fun at all, but since u don't like waxing b/c of the pain, threading- using a thread to pull each hair individually, probably wouldn't be for you either. Use anbesol before u wax and that may make the difference. When I first started tweezing my brows I had to use it until i began to grow tolerant of the pain. Hope this helps u.
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
I am totally serious about this....Anal Eaze will also help. It has the same numbing effect as Anbesol (caused by Benzocaine) hey....it works...thats all that matters!
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
I have waxed, i think nothing looks better than a good waxing, and it lasts along time too!!! The pain does get easier. You kinda get used to it. Like pulling off a band aid after awhile. We did it as kids. But if pain is the issue for you. Then try anal eaze. I never had, but it may work fine for you like MissBehavin says. And i have shaved too.. Just keep yourself very wet and lathered up! Warm water also helps loosen hair shafts. Don't go against the hair. And be laying on your back in front of a large mirror legs wide open to get a good view! Not lady like, but beauty can suck at times.

Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
So when they talk about a brazilian waxing, do they mean it ALL comes off? It's a step higher than just plain bikini waxing right? (I want to know what to ask for when I go get it done...I can't do it myself...hurts too much) I'm thinking of going the waxing route cause shaving is just not doing it for me, I'm too sensitive....and I'm not a fan of razor bumps.
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
Brazillian is what they call pretty much bald, yes. Or completely, i never had it. But had some women say they got one and left just a tad of hair way up high. (not the so called landing strip,) or go all the way! Yes, it is a step higher than regular bikini waxing.
When you go, ask questions about the type of hair removal you want. Some places have pictures to show you. Make it VERY clear how you want your whole bottom to look. And what you would like them to use. A good business will explain as they move along. Ask about pain involved, time ect.
Hope this helps you. Pamela, stuck on the old method, shaving! :-/
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
Micah-the Brazillian wax means "everything" comes off. It does hurt during the process, but about 10 minutes after the entire procedure, you're fine.
If you're prone to ingrown hairs, waxing will not help this-as it can also cause them.
Another thing you may want to keep in mind is that you need to let the hair grow out each time for it to be waxed. Most salons prefer the hair to be at least 1/4 inch long (if not longer). (this can be rather inconvient as a dancer...generally speaking, not shaving etc for 2-3 weeks so that the hair is long enough.
The results are good though, very smooth without much irritation. You may need to pluck a few hairs that were missed.
Good luck

Well thank god shavin works fine with me.. My skin has gotten use to the shaver, Hence No irratations.
The only problem i have with shaving is you have to shave more.. then wax.
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
Tried the waxing experience ONCE! I used to do waxing at the last salon I worked for and some people can sit through a bikini waxing while I actually saw a woman cry once just from eyebrow waxing! So, I got out my waxing kit and decided to wax as many areas of my body as I could. Didn't work for me! Ripped my skin of in some places and since most of my body hair is blonde and fine the wax didn't even remove the hair - just the skin!
So, I'm sticking with shaving! I do use a man's razor (Gilette Sensor) as they are are made for tough stubble.
Soak in the tub for as long as you can prior to hair removal, if you want to wax good salons have waxing products that help with the sting, the redness, infections & also products that help reduce re-growth.
HTH!

Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
the Gillete mach three works great!
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
Yeah, it shaves close. But for a woman i HIGHLY suggest The gilette venus razor. it shaves close and leaves your skin smoothe. and its more gentle then a mans razor *made for a woman*
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
Electric razor!
You help me shave more!
No more bumps
Or nasty ingrown lumps
My kitty is smooth
And always soothed
From sensitive lips
To inner hips
I could not shave no more
Without my electric razor!
(sorry for the spontaneous poetry but I truly love it)
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
it is harder to cut yourself with the gilette venus (or with the other "for girls" razors)
Re: going "au natural" or close to it (pubic hair)
this little electric razor is great... worth every penny and then some!
