Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Girl ....ok ok so i can go shopping with them.. LOl. Serious they are huge right now! You are too silly.
Yea right lose weight and lose tits. Why not spot train. Some say no such thing, but i believe it works. I do sit ups. Then reverse crunches. And inclines, all for the belly. And NO it's still not totally flat. :-[
Get a good abs book. Hair, i take a multivitamin and thats it. Guessed blessed with something. We are a mess. But you cheer me up! Pamela ;D Ps if your not fat don't lose weight, since boobs will go with it. And i know your not fat. Just tone, and spot train. Really. Now help me with my eyes!!! ::)
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Well if you choose lifting weights to loose weight.. you will not lose your boobs.. For me i was a weight lifter for 2 years.. It firmed my boobs and butt, they where bolth very perky.. *untill i had a baby.. but thats another story..* Anyways.. when i started lifting weights i actually gained a bra size...
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
1) Skin
Are you cleaning your face too much? You could be stripping the natural oils so your face is overproducing the oil causing breakouts. Have you changed anything recently - face product, clothes washing product, diet? Are you keeping up your water intake? Is your hair in your face a lot? Do you touch your face a lot, therefore transfering germs? Try using a really gentle, unfragranced cleanser and also an oil free moisturiser like those in the Neutrogena range.
2) Hair
Pantene is really awful for your hair. It coats your hair with crap rather than actually doing any good. Ask your hairdresser about a better option Unfortunately my hair is awful at the moment, too. If I find anything, I'll let you know. My hair is deadly straight, so I can't help you with frizz. Although I have a friend who rubs a little face moisturiser in her palms and then runs it through her hair to calm frizz.
3) My gym buddy just moved interstate :( I feel your pain. It is so much better with someone.
4) Tummy muscles
If you have fat on your stomach, you will never ever EVER have a flat stomach, no matter how many sit ups you do. In fact, you will strengthen and increase the muscle size, which will make your stomach stick out even more. So unless you already have a flat stomach, you do need to combine losing weight with stomach exercises.
I come from a classical ballet background, and know some very challenging exercises you could do (but that are very difficult to explain - if you would really like to know some, message me!) The easiest way to put it - Do Pilates. There is nothing better for strong stomach muscles. It concentrates not on bulking up, but on lengthening, strengthening, and streamlining the body.
P.S. You lose weight, you lose it everywhere. :( It's a cruel cruel joke.
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Hey. There is no way to spot reduce fat (besides liposuction). So if that is the problem, then cardio, cardio, cardio. Do something fun. Personally, I can't stand running. Boring, boring boring. I found a wildly challenging hip hop class. You could maybe try any of a huge variety of dance classes (belly dancing is also good), swimming, jump rope etc. I also get bored doing sit ups and stuff, so I don't do them a lot. But I read at salon.com (or something very like it) that crunches are not the best way to go. A series of isometric positions is much more effective. The best full ab workout that I know of (the four limbed staff pose for yoga people) is picutred. Just hold it. That's all. There is also an easier variation.
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Thanks for all the advice ladies!
Jenny-yeah, I hate walking and running. My boobs hate running too. I have really been thinking about a dance class, or yoga. I have no idea how the pic you posted would be successful in taming the tummy?? It seems like it would do something for arms? Who knows...I'll try it.
Claire-I clean my face every time I shower. If I work, it is twice a day, if I do not work it is once a day. I have changed any products lately? Well, I was living in Ohio using all my own stuff, then just transplanted to my parents house in Florida 3 weeks ago, so now I am using Mom's stuff. I don't drink water. Unless I am about to die of thirst. My hair isn't in my face cuz I always wear a headband around the house because if I do not, my curls would blind me.
Pantene...I have NEVER heard that!!!!! What?? The new Pantene smells SOOOOO good! I have run moisturerizer through my hair too...my prob is that I have no body at the roots, and too much in the rest. So, I don't want to weigh my hair down too much..just smooth it out. I thnk even Frizz-ease would be too heavy.
My tummy, I have started to have mild back pain, and my doctor said that I needed to tighten my tummy muscles and work on my posture because of my boobs. (42DD) I would love to do Pilates, I have heard so much good stuff about it...I am going to check for classes when I get offline.
It's not just "losing weight" I am dealing with....actually that is not it at all. I want to become a better shape...more stamina...feel better.
oh yeah..and quit smoking by 2-13-03.

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Missbehavin if you are flat at the roots and have body through the rest of your hair, don't apply conditioner at your roots ever. Conditioner helps hair lay flat and shiny by coating the outer shaft. Our roots dont need conditioner. ALso, I have been doing more weight training, by myself and a book! Lol. And when watching tv i just grab a dumb bell and do 3 sets of 8. I need fairly heavy to build muscle and lose excess fat, because muscle burns calories which burns fat. I also heard for the tummy area, ( I carried 3 children too) to deep belly breath and inflate your stomache, then on exhale to suck stomache in for a count of 5, and build up sucking in to actually make those muscles harder. I fight this everyday. I walk my dogs alot, dance alot, you name it. The stomache is tough. Why the heck do all these fitness mags. say sit ups if they only make you bigger? With the few i do, i see improvement. But not enough to make me happy. PS, and my hair has alot of blonde streaks i put through it, i use plain old johnsons baby shampoo alot! Followed by Loreal color Vive conditioner. You can get the conditioner also for wavy, think hair. I love it! Pamela :D
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Hey, girl.... I'm back...
Okies, the first thing to know is you are probably washing your face way too much. And that apricot scrub, if used too often, will make your face produce more oil in response to the excess friction (but, hey, that stuff rocks for getting rid of blackheads!). So I'll suggest a few products with which I have had good results, but don't overuse if you try them:
1)Clean & Clear oil reducing papers - these are little papers that help suck up excess facial oil with just a swipe, and unlike all the others on the market, they are not loaded with talc or facial powder to do the trick. Good stuff.
2)Philosophy oil control lotion - This you buy at department stores, drugstore.com, or from Philosophies 1-800 number. It comesin a small bottle, and it is pricy, but it is worth it. You get a bit of this (a little goes along way), and dab it on your oily spots with a cotton ball. Apply your makeup over it,and it should help quite a bit.
3)Clindamycin and Retin-A creme - Alright, theoretically this stuff could cause rebound oiliness, but I can't say I have had any toruble with it. If anything, I have to moisturize like crazy to prevent a little redness. Anyway, clindamycin is a topical roll-on antibiotic, and we allknow what Retin-A is. This stuff is prescribed by your doctor, used in conjunction with each other (although I use them alternatingly to prevent dryness), is especially great for other girls who may have complexion issues, and should NOT be used y anyone with especially sensitive skin.
Hair - Can't really help here much, beyond what I have posted in other threads. Some will swear by Mane & Tail shampoo / conditioner - don't bother. It will destroy your hair, unless you go to all the trouble of diluting the shampoo properly and figuring out how to strip the excess conditioner from your hair. Other wise, no real recommendations that you can't find elsewhere.
Regarding your tummy - OOOH boy!!! I know about this one.... Sit-ups will strengthen your abs, but they won't tone them. And there is no such thing as SPOT loss of fat, even though you can work isolated areas of muscles. So when you start losing fat, you'll probably lose your boobs, too. I went from 36C to 34B in three months, so I know about this one. HOWEVER, the thing to remember is your breasts are supported by your pecs, which CAN be developed through use of proper strengthening techniques. This can help maintain some really spiffy-looking perky boobs (well, until you have kids, then it could get tricky). As for your tummy, as others have said, AEROBIC ACTIVITY is your godsend. It may take a while, but it will do the trick. I would recommend cardio-bike, stairmaster, and an ass-kicking make-you-wanna-puke elliptical machine session on a very regular basis. But you'll probably find other stuff that suits you more.
Anywho, sorry so long. Just thought I would mention what has worked for me, and see if it gives you any ideas.

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
le kair hair care is great, biolsilk for frizz and curly hair. i use the oil of olay facial whipes or the st ives apricot scrub facial whipes. i had a really bad perm put in my hair in june and its still recovering from the horror. the physique spiral line is pretty good as well. good luck.

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
I hate humid hot weather, and sweat like hell when in it! Consequently, my skin goes crazy!
You are probably washing too much. I used to use that apricot scrub, and it is fine for maybe twice a week, but more than that you are actually damaging your skin. I love Lush products...I order them online from Canada. I have some banana smoothie face scrub and it is amazing. Get some wipes to freshen occasionally, but cut down on washing.
Ok, I NEVEr EVER use any type of store product on my hair. I used to, and fully thought that it didn't makea difference. It makes the biggest difference in the world.
Sure, I pay more, but I buy them on sales, and because I use them, my hair looks great, and I actually spend less on haircuts because I don't have to get them as often. I have long hair, wavy and color treated, and it is like gold now. Pantene is the worst, IMO. I would speak to a stylist about what would be good for your hair. I like the Bed Head line, and Artec.
I am shaping up also, cardio and strength training....and it's working.

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Candigrl can you explain more about sit ups for me, you do? Or send me to a site that explains or shows what up do for your tummy?
Thanks, Pamela Side bends??
Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
Hey Miss. It does work your arms, but it is one of very few all over ab workouts as well (as in your upper and lower abs and the obliques). Hold it for a slow ten count, and you should start to feel tummy burn. Try something like ten reps, holding as long as you can (at least a slow ten count). It is used in pilates and yoga to great effect.

Re: I am so lazy!!! Help me!
The isometric positions shown above are really great for your tum. Please please make sure you follow some technique rules, though, or you can end up injuring yourself.
As you balance yourself, imagine sucking in your belly button to your spine. This will help to brace your stomach muscles, keep your back flat, and ensure that you don't hurt your back.
The easier position for beginners would be on your toes, as pictured above, but with your elbows, forearms, wrists and hands flat on the floor. That way the effort is more concentrated to your tum rather than your arms.
The easiest way of all is to take the above position, but then slightly bring your toes forward so your knees can rest on the ground, but not so that you have all your weight on them, they're more just a support.
Here's a site with an exercise library...

Can I also mention the dreaded word...Water.
I used to be like you - my nickname was acutally Camel because I never drank anything. But once I started drinking water, I've never felt better. It really is a wonder cure. It improves skin, hair, nails, helps you to lose weight...I can't stress how important it is.
If you don't like it, add a little of something to it. Lemon juice, lime juice, a tiny sprinkle of cordial...just drink the damn stuff, okay?! :D
Make sure you check out the credentials of the Pilates teacher. Also, using Pilates machines is much more expensive, but the results are faster (I also find it more interesting). But, the floor work is definately better than nothing! The thing with Pilates, it might look simple, but it is really very hard and it burns. If you don't feel anything, you're doing it wrong.
Good Luck! :-* Claire
