Alexix Vogel Makeup Artist
Hi, I'm usually ava but I cant get my name to work for some reason hmmmph, but anyways, im such a sucker for infommercials hehe Has anyone seen the one for Alexis Vogel's makeup how to videos? She is one of the main makeup artist for playboy and does make up for Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and such. I really like the style of her makeup, very very sexy ;) They want $200 for the set and I feel that is just a rip off. I've looked all over the internet, ebay, etc. and there is no where else to purchase it but directly through her site. Does anyone have any other favorite how to books or videos for learning how to professionally apply makeup? Good makeup and hair can turn a plain jane into a vixen and that equals more $$$ hehe. Looking forward to any info or tips ladies, thanks.

I watched the Alexis Vogel infomercial the other day. The one thing I noticed is that everyone had on the exact same makeup. Everyone had the same big hair. Many makeup counters will give you complimentary makeovers-makeup tips, and seriously, the best place to learn about makeup? Drag Queens....I promise. Once, I hired a queen to come in and do makeup and give demos for any of my girls who were interested.
The Queen came in 2 hours before work, and stayed until 4 am!!! The girls loved it!

Yes i agree! all the girls did have the same makeup on but they all looked great! Now if only i can find a drag queen ;)
Re: Alexix Vogel Makeup Artist
A good friend of mine is a makeup artist, and its amzing how she transforms a persons face. Try to find a makeup artist that had a style which stands out, then ask her for a makeup demo (the ladies at most MAC counters are usually helpfull). Drag queens can be the best though, because they are a little more intense (which I prefer.....don't worry, I don't want to end up looking like Divine). Skinmarket used to sell pretty good makeup at a decent price (they had some great color eyeshadows too). Too bad they went out of business....... :(

I would also recommend checking out some makeup books at a bookstore or the library. kevin Acquoin (spelling?) has a popular book out. Just set down one day and experiment. If you lived near here I could help ya (I have done everything from Drag Queens and strippers to a Goth wedding and I even worked with the guy who did the makeup for The Crow at a Haunted House! *bragging a little, yes!*

And wow what bright RED lipstick can do to transform a total new look! Fake lashes, glitter shadow. And to make your self look like you have a great jawbone dusting dark shadow along the bone carefully! I love makeup. Always playing, and reading. So many tricks of the trade. Bobbi Brown is pretty good too for makeup tips. And hair.
