are these songs appropriate?
And I'm SERIOUS ....
Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson
(he talks about smelling your own shit on your knees ...)
6 Underground by Sneaker Pimps
The song is about death, ain't it? but I read somewhere here that people dig the song (hahahhahahaha ... geddit?? "DIG"?). But really ... or is it more about sex than death? It's sexy but slightly morbid.
Stupid Girl by Garbage.
People here were talking about tracks by them ... but what about that one? Would YOU want to be the featured dancer during this song?? LOL.
As you can see ... I'm new here and new to this profession ... so far, you guys/gals have been of GREAT help.
Cheers,
DJ Ivanguy
Re: are these songs appropriate?
There is nothing wrong with these songs. Have used them all quite often over the years. Beautiful People sometimes used with Bondage outfit while 6 Underground used for floor show and Stupid Girl for School Girl theme or just general show.
But I will admit when some of the dancers get me to put together their songs they don't check out the lyrics often and are more into the beat of the song

I think you could do a couple sets with different types of music - like you might introduce one girl as a theme show and play appropriate music for it, then do a rock set and an R&B set. When you get to the club, you'll find you have to keep your rock girls and your R&B girls straight, and often you'll be throwing a girl on at the last minute and grabbing music for her and it has to be something she can dance to.
