I Love My DJ!!!
I hope this is the right forum for this, but I am just so pleased with one of the daytime DJs at my club!! He knows what to play and always saves particular songs for yours truly. Yesterday, I was having kind of a bad day (not giving 100%) and God bless him, he played my new fave song "Prayer" by Disturbed and lo and behold - Amethyst was all over the place. And yes, I banked so he got a nice piece of the pie!! That's what makes him so wonderful - he knows what the crowd is in the mood for and both the managers and the dancers trust him enough to do his job. Of course, he lets me request songs, but I typically only request 1-3 songs a day from him. I know he'll take care of me. I know some DJs don't have total trust from their co-workers - which sux btw - but all three of the DJs (especially this particular one) have my respect and trust. You guys help make my job easier :-*
Love ya,
Amethyst

Re: I Love My DJ!!!
You give an example of a seriously under appreciated point - its always better to work WITH fellow employees then not, especially if your money making ability is codependent upon each other.
It boggles my mind how many people do not make that correlation. It is far more important to them to make their ego paramount over any situation, and the a little giving and compromise is too high a price to maintain that illusionary ego status. A little less self-importance, and a little more cooperation will constantly pay dividends over the long haul. Winning one ego-battle may give you temporary satisfaction, but will definitely hurt in the long term, both in constant ill-will and monetarily. There is no law saying you have to actually like your coworkers, but you can and should get along with them, in a professional way if not a personal way.
So to all the DJs and Dancers who can work together, I thank you all very much. When you guys work together, you really make our, the customers, time much better and more fun. And that's the main reason why we go.
Okay, enough with my proselytizing
