Do internet Stripclub List's really help???
Do you think, the review's on stripclub list's are a fair and honest way to gauge the true appeal of a club?
In my experience I have found them to be a double edged sword, Those that come in and enjoy the show and have a good time, write very good review's and those that come in and, well for some reason feel cheated or are removed due to lack of respect to the dancer's or become a problem of some sort, go out and write vial thing's to vent and hurt the club they messed up in. I have had guy's who after spending a few hundred on a dancer, feel that he should get to go to the next level like a date or a motel visit, when the dancer inform's him that if his money was spent on expectation's of something more then what he has already got then it wasn't money well spent. When they post review's it really hurt's because all I can do is read it and know that everyone else can too >:( .
P.S. I really love this Forum, you guy's really do help people and I have learned alot in the short time I have been here.

you must take all of these reviews with a 'grain of salt', because you have no way of knowing whether the posters are genuine customers of the club, or for example whether the posters are actually club management writing glowingly positive reviews, or whether the posters are actually associated with competing clubs with a vested interest in writing poisonously bad reviews. But you can usually glean some useful information from several posts made by different people about the same club. Does this help, definitely. Do I take these reviews at face value, no way!
Re: Do internet Stripclub List's really help???
I travel a lot and rely on strip club lists to find a good club in the area I'm going to. I have learned to look a few weeks ahead of time to try to get a general feel for a club. I know that some negative posts are from guys who have an axe to grind and some positive posts are from management, so I take them with a grain of salt.
If you want out of town business, your club needs to be listed.

Stripclublist is only good for the basic information, like location, hours of operations, food/drink/lapdance availability and pricing etc.
The comments made by customers aren’t reviews, as far as I am concerned. They are comments, which by nature usually don’t have a lot of thought behind them. A vast majority of it is praising a dancer, or tearing her down. It’s very rare that I get something useful out of the comments. A lot of it also seems to gravitate into vendettaishness (hey, is that a word?)
Personally, since everyone has their takes, likes and dislikes, I never go by whether a place is good or not by other people’s opinions. I only trust myself. If I go to a club and don’t like the experience, well, I live and learn. That’s how life is.

The comments about Vegas clubs are pretty much right on the money. I can't speak for clubs in other cities. But what I find annoying is that comments only stay up for a maximum of three weeks, and each club can only have a max of eight posts. It use to be more about a year ago.

SCL is good for basic club info and thats about it (and even that needs to be taken suspiciously because what you see on the site isn't always as advertised when you show up at the club). Cover and drink prices that are understated, number of dancers overstated, degree of nudity and/or contact overstated to attract customers or understated to quell any concerns of LE people who might be lurking online looking for a "hit list". Not that doing that would help much.
They used to have a rating meter from 1 to 10 which was a joke. And most of the comments there are from guys wondering where they're favorite dancer went than actual reviews, and a lot of the comments that are reviews are from guys who went to that club ONCE.
Another problem with it is that some club owners are more inviting to comments than others. One club in Lincoln, NE actually put signs up in their club encouraging customers to post comments on SCL so as a result ALL the clubs there began getting a lot of comments. A competing owner didn't care much for stuff being said about HIS club and had SCL remove the comments section on his page completely. Some cities have better representation than others.
A lot of the content was removed because whomever owns SCL was complaining that it was too taxing on his bandwidth. I've been to a few other sites and didn't care much for them either. There's too little content there to make them worth any value.

I personally prefer tuscl simply because the reviews aren't removed as quickly as stripclublist, although you can't take those seriously either (except my reviews, of course). Their boards are pretty lame, simply because it's unmoderated.
Re: Do internet Stripclub List's really help???
well... when i decided to strip i had never been to a club... i narrowed to down to two clubs based on internet strip club lists and this forum. i would not discredit these lists... for if the comments are bad i typically read further into them (are the complaints specific... or just flustered probrobly due to a bouncer getting involved). basically without these lists i would never have found the classy club i currently work at... we do most everything by the book, and everything else about it matches my type of personality as well.

To an extent they do. For basic info, SCL and mensclubguide.com are ok, basically guys new to that particular club and giving first impressions. I usually look at more dedicated sites that reveiw a particular region or a specific site. Most of the time its only regulars posting an updated trip report. Over time you can guage their personal taste and adjust to yours accordingly.Generally if the general concensus is stated about something it is useful.
I have been in the process of finding a home club to be a regular at so these sites have been a huge help to me being as I don't waste any more time or money than I have to in an SC.

The biggest benefit of StripClubList is that it's free and they provide a link to the club's own website. For example, unless you live in Vegas and/or you are a peruser of Vegas-after-dark dot com, you will probably never find the Cheetah's website. The URL on the Cheetah's site ends with dot cc, and not dot com or net, like most sites.
