Juggling customers
Aargh, I had a really tough time last night trying to split my time between multiple guys in the club to see me - it ended up actually hurting my money, because I was so distracted wondering if any of them felt shafted that I didn't pay attention to the time and number of dances I was doing. To top it off I had another guy get a few dances and then tip me $40 so "you'll remember me the next time I'm here" and all I could think was "please, not on a Tuesday!" I seriously failed the finesse test on this one last night!

Re: Juggling customers
Sounds like a tough problem to have! ;) Dance specials tend to bring in the customers...
Tuesdays are getting rather crazy out here with all their clubs doing their dance specials...heck, Penthouse had such a success doing $5 dances last night they've decided to continue doing them indefinitely. It's craaazzy, man, craaazzzyy! And I promise that's the last time I mention it...can't believe that's all I've talked about on 3 boards this morning... ::)
Good luck juggling in the future! ;)

Re: Juggling customers
Damn. I've going to have to come down to Austin one of these days and check this out! I wish they'd have those kind of promotions in Wichita. Monday seems to be 2 for 1 night around here but try paying that rate and the dancers will give a guy a myriad of excuses (the second one is half price, you need to buy five to get the free one, etc. etc.).
CC, there are sometimes situations where you have an excess of potential "riches" but for obvious reasons you just can't grab all of it. Understandably if the club was busy, I don't think the guys (particularly your regulars) would hold it against you. If there's a valid explanation, I don't mind a dancer "putting me in the queing line" since when she takes a guy back to the LD area, she doesn't know if shes going to be there for two songs or twenty. And a packed house is sometimes explanation enough.
I DO advise dancers that if the opportunity exists to check in with customers that you have waiting for dances, try to pass along that you could be awhile, and that you'll check back with them, BUT won't get upset if they give their business to one of your co-workers instead. Your co-workers will appreciate that too.
Just one of those "shit happens" sort of deals and not much anyone can do about it. The fact that you're worried about it says a lot that you care, so as a customer that has gotten truly shafted on numerous occasions, I say thanks. :)

Re: Juggling customers
Hmm, I don't know about those specials. If they had it here in Puerto Rico, the clubs would really fill up with cheapskates and it would be almost impossible to get a dance from your fave. Besides, it would make me look really "desperate" if I'd be willing to pay and wait for my moment in the sun. The clubs would also have quite a security problem with all the pervs, IMHO.
Regarding checking in on waiting customers, it's only natural that dancers should do so, that way the risk of losing a regular customer due to a long wait diminishes.

Re: Juggling customers
I sometimes schedule customers kinda like at a doctor's office so my best customers come in when I can totally devote my time to them. This works really well especially if you schedule someone for the downtime at the club when it gets slow.

Re: Juggling customers
When I have that problem I always try to check in with the customers waiting, just to let them know I noticed them and I intend to see them. In reality, the biggest spender is the one who is going to get my time. Of course that hurts me because then the other guys are disappointed, feel rejected and spend their money elsewhere. But what else can you do?

Re: Juggling customers
Hmmm....all the Austin ladies in one thread. Note to self: Increase the Research Budget!! ;)
Dance specials put guys in the seats which is why you'll more likely have to juggle customers during those times. Compare a Tuesday night in a GC in this town with a Monday night, and the difference is amazing in terms of number of customers visiting a club and number of dancers working. With my schedule I can only get out on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, and since Tuesdays tend to be crowded I keep to Sundays and Mondays. I like my privacy, and a dancer is less likely to worry about having to please other customers when it's slow.
Of course, I'm guessing that it's good that you had a problem juggling customers because it means you were busy which means more money. I don't usually have a problem with a dancer wanting to visit with her other customers especially when I know that there are plenty of other dancers that I could spend time with. The only time I might be really disapponted is when I go into a club to SPECIFICALLY see one dancer. I've been doing that more and more lately since my "research" budget is beginning to feel the squeeze almost to the point where I'm probably going to have to retire from the GC scene for a while. If that one dancer is too busy with other guys to sit with me, then I'll probably just pack up and leave, saving my money for another day. There is NO problem with that! ;D

Re: Juggling customers
Ideally, I pick one customer to be my "home base." He's the guy that spends lots of money and understands that I have to spread my attention a little. I sit with him for a while and then say "oh, hon, so and so's waiting for me over there, i'll try to be right back, can you watch this for me?" Then I run over to the other guy, dance, dance, drink, "well sweetie i'd love to spend all night with you but there's a drink waiting for me over there... " Then back to mr home base, dance, dance, drink "oh gosh, i'm sorry to do this to you again hon but the waitress just told me that somebody's waiting for a dance with me... do you mind watching this and i'll be back as soon as i can?"
For some reason, I can't juggle more then a couple guys without having a home base guy...

Re: Juggling customers
I really hate this situation. One night while talking to a new guy, and having a great time. My regular was wanting an air dance, (yes we were negotiating). I saw him waving his arms over at me, like he was the only person in the world i ever danced for. Annoying as hell. I went over and asked him to wait another 10 minutes, gosh... if he can. He bought 1 lapdance, and started waving his arms and pointing to his watch. I was so upset. So i made him wait longer. He was being plain old rude. He knew better, he knows how dancers work.

Re: Juggling customers
I hate this because it always seems that the whole night goes by, and I am doing okay but no one is really throwing their money at me....and when there is like an hour left before the club closes, everyone wants me to dance for them at once! Last Friday was exactly like this. Less than an hour before the club closed, I saw a good spender who was waiting for me, and while walking over to him (on the other side of the club, of course) at least four different guys asked if I could dance for them. Anyway, Mr. Big Spender kept me dancing for him for the rest of the night, so all the other guys got other girls to dance for them. I really wish I could clone myself sometimes!! :P

Re: Juggling customers
At my club right now, I bartend 3 nights and dance on Friday nights....
I will tell the customers I meet when I am bartending to come in on Friday nights if they would like to see me dance......
This can work very well, except for when they all pick the same Friday night....
I've had this happen where they all come in on the same night, at the same time....
Or I have a Friday night where no one is in to see me.....
It's like all, or nothing....
The best that we can do is, stop by to say hi to all, try and get to them when we can....
Yes the big spenders win out....When you know where the money is, how can you turn it down....You love the nights when you seem to be so wanted to can't get to them all......
Why can't all nights be like that !!!

Re: Juggling customers
This situation is the *worst* because when it rains, it pours! I try to email customers to come in on certain days, but my schedule is pretty much the same every week, and many times they will all come in on the same night. I've literally lost out on at least 300 to possibly 500 dollars, in one instance, when one of my customers got tired of waiting for me to come back from the lounge and left the club- I felt like crying it was so frustrating!
The only way I can manage situations like this reasonably, is to become "distracted" by another customer after every set I do - and try to spend most of my time with the one that spends the most on a regular basis.
Sometimes, depending on the customer, I just simply tell him that another regular came in, and I'll grab one of my girls and have her do a few dances with him and keep him company - I'm able to spend a little time with the other customer, and still come back.
::)
