WOW, that sure is unanimous!
(Used the spell check ;))
I can't vote on that one, mine come and go to the stage through out the night!

Couldn't figure out how to vote on that one, but at my current club, alot of customers sit and tip at the stage. The club setup is such that stage is a big focus and tipping is normal - all lapdances and VIP is upstairs, with stage downstairs, so guys are somewhat forced to pay for the show. We have a 'pervert row' at the stage, and alot of guys will hang there for ages tipping everyone who walks on it. I like it this way!
I prefer to not sit at the stage because I don't like all the other guys looking at me (or at least noticing the attention I get from the dancers) when tipping out.
"Always keep the socks on."
you you asked WHY, so I didnt get this poll...?
How does one reply to that? or vote?
weird
There was a poll that went with this thread, but it appears to have been changed or somehow screwed up.

I don't know what the original post was all about however I will add my 5 cents.
Where I currently work there is stage side seating. Whilst the DJ may throughout the night announce how the seats at the side of the stage are a tipping area so only those who tip should be seated..... it is generally up to the dancer(s) themselves to inform the customers.
Since my sets are 15 minutes long. I generally do a good performance for the first song and then spend the rest hustling for tips (if there are people around the stage). Otherwise, I try to encourage those seated back to take a seat.
I've found that showing those that are seated back that there is no pressure for them to tip me .. I just would like them closer can help encourage them to tip.
I can sometimes make more through stage tips than I do via private dances (where I work the private dance prices are different to the usual).
How do you girls feel about doing your stage performance with nobody sitting stage side? It doesn't usually happen, but occassionally before the evening rush when all the girls have started their shift most of the guys are pulled away from the stage to other girls. I feel a little embaressed for a girl doing a stage performance to empty seats.
I agree it is embarassing. You ladies are working your asses off to perform for us. Whenever I see a lady performing on stage and no one is seated there, I will get up and sit at the stage or, if I am having a conversation with another dancer, at least get up and tip the dancer on on stage. I guess my momma raised me to be polite. ;D Besides, it usually impersses the lady I'm talking with. ;)Quote:

If the house is full and no one is sitting at my stage, I will start "flirting" from across the room. Sometimes I will make weird faces like a little kid, to get the audience out of their trance. Often times the guys feel like they don't want to be the only one sitting at the stage, even though they want to be closer, so I will invite a man to sit with me at another dancer's stage to get the show started.
At my home club there are three stages in a medium sized room. So the guys are always on the move to check out their favorite girl. I will spend about 5 minutes before it is my turn trying to drum up some business for my stage, usually by the beginning of my second song, some of the guys I chatted with before getting on stage have joined me there. The real challenge is trying to keep track as to when your turn is coming up, especially if there are a lot of dancers coming and going in your club.
One thing that helps get the guys up at the stage and tipping is to have your friends who dance there too go there and tip you, and it doesn't have to cost her a thing, because you'll give her that dollar back when she's up. Two of my favorite dancers used to tip each other like 40$ a night, and the guys loved it. They'll get right up there to get close to the action, and are much more prone to keep tipping than if the DJ has to nag them. I'll say something about you demonstrating proper tipping technique and the guys seem to take the hint.
I really don't like sitting up at the stage when I go in another club, unless its my friend up there maybe, for a while. But I do everything I can to keep the guys there. I'd rather have 50 (tipping) guys lining the stage than 100 sitting back at tables any night.
When I DJ if the guys aren't tipping I always send a girl to tip her with my dollar, and make a big fuss over them. About 50% of the time it'll bring at least one guy up, or someone willl send her back with another, etc. Lots of times it gets a bunch up there. Especially if that girl then tries to get guys to join her up there. That means I get that dollar back, so I do this whenever it seems right. Its not always necessary to put on a big show, just be sweet to each other. Plus it makes the poor girl feel better if it sucks that night.

Djoser great tip for someone like me being a stage dancer! Although i don't get involved with dancers, i have had a few guy friends make a fuss and go hog wild for the show. But they really tip. One guy however is not so..well money in the pocket thing. He has given money, i gave it back. You are soooo right, it attracts major attention to the stage, and brings in more bucks. I love your way of thinking at the stage!!!!! I may plan on having more friends at times ( a slower night) get em going for me! It DOES work!! Pamela ;D
Ps also great hustling tip.
My customers sometimes will only come by the stage when I'm up there and tip me then go back to a table or back for dances after I'm done my show. I'm actually not sure what you're poll was though...you might want to fix that.
CIAO ::)
This has happened to me many times... I've also danced my full set (15 minutes) with people stage-side not tipping ANYTHING so I might as well be dancing for no one. It is mentally hard to keep up a good performance when it is obvious that your time on the stage will not be rewarded (not even any applause).Quote:

I will always give my best for the first 5 minutes of my stage set regardless if there is 1 or 50 customers. Then after that I will TRY to encourage people to tip me. If it is obvious no one is going to tip me for my time on the stage I will then continue dancing...... now whether I continue to keep giving a good performance or cut it down a bit depends on my mood/attitude and the music the DJ is playing (which influences my mood/motivate to give a good performance).
I must admit that when a song I like dancing to is playing and no one is tipping me (stage side or not)... I will just go "F*ck it... I'm just going to enjoy myself".
Sometimes I will falter and fall into the "looking at myself in the mirror" thing however usually to "test out" moves and see if I feel they work or not.
It isn't great when you are exerting energy by giving the customers something to watch and absolutely no one tips you or even gives you applause.
As for hustling for stage tips....
My X-BF helped me out heaps in re: this. He would tip me $5 and I would make out it was a $20 dance. Of course I wouldn't give him the full $20 show I usually give a customer on stage as he primarily tipped me to get the ball rolling for others.
It is so true that customers are more inclined to tip once someone else has ...
It is also true that if you go around to all the customers (whether it be 4 or 30), introduce yourself and make sure they know about the tipping procedure before you go on stage (give yourself at least 5 minutes).... that you'll find some are more inclined to tip.
Another technique that I have found that works for me is to just encourage them to sit by the stage (no pressure to tip me) then give them a little personal attention. Once they've had a little personal attention, they are inclined to want more..... or else other people will sit stage side.
;D

It all depends. At most clubs I've been dancers usually do offstage lap dances for tips so it's not essencial to sit upfront. At Divas in San Juan and Dancers in Ponce, it's way easier to tip since dancers stay onstage so if you're not upfront then you stand up and get close to the girls or in the particular case of Divas you can stay on that "pervert row" (wherever it may be) so you can tip.
I found out that the "pervert row" at Divas is the whole frontstage seating area! I've been a pervert all along ;D
LOL! Carlos you perv! ;D ;D ;D
He he he :P :P :P
I only sit at the stage (prev) Some of the best times I've had is with ladies tipping the dancer with my money great fun!
