Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
NEVER tell them you are involved with a man. Guys are territorial, even if they don't realize it consiously. You're their fantasy..they don't like the idea of sharing, and they DON'T wanna hear your baby daddy drama.
I say that I date, but I havn't found the right guy yet, then wink at him.

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
The one thing I do not discuss when I'm at work is my relationship. It's not up for discussion, that's a part of my personal life. When a customer ask me do I have a boyfriend, I tell them yes. And that's the end of it... :-X :-X

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I pretty much have one story and stick with it. This way I don't get caught out with regulars (no matter how regular they are). I do say I'm single. I do get proposition-ed a million times.
I just say I'm a busy girl. My story then goes along the lines of I'm also study-ing (I'm not but I say this anyway ;))and doing some modelling for my website. Between all this whilst also exercising regularly, running every-day errands, sleeping, eating... I just don't have time. The time I do have spare I like to spend at home by myself or hanging with my friends. (I try and make my day sound full. ;))
If they seriously do not get the hint ::) :o as I've had a couple (granted, not that many) go on "Not even time for a coffee?" ... I do say.. "Yes.. not even time for a coffee. The little spare time I do have I try and spend with my friends" or something.
I'm one of those people who likes to let people down gently. ;D
I am actually single and not thru that much choice. It is because my choice of possibilities isn't that far reaching (mainly the club) and I have a strict rule that I don't date customers. 8)

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
well up until this club i just got hired at i used my real name.. not a good idea i have learned...
i tell only a select few i have a bf...

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I'm married and I don't tell them...although I have before. I hate to answer questions about my personal life. Like "your husband lets you work here?" or "what does HE think about you doing this?" The honest truth is he doesn't care, and they don't understand why...and then they keep prodding. So usually to avoid it I just say I'm single!

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
My standard response when asked if i have a boyfriend is "No, i have a husband but I still haven't found a boyfriend yet". This seems to be a great ice breaker for me. I'm married and I wear my rings at work. I used to take them off but my fingers swelled up over the summer and I couldn't get them off so I decided to try it with them on. It hasn't made a difference in my money and it's easier to keep my stories straight. I used to forget who knew I was married and who didn't.

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I much prefer when they don't ask. I hate to say "No" because even though it'd help the hustle, I feel deep down like I'm denying my boyfriend (I'm so sensitive with these issues!).
I like Leigh_Landon's suggestions where you just avoid answering the question with a sly remark. I haven't actually tried that approach before, I kinda like it though! Comes across as sassy and flirtatious!!

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I say that I have a lover. That usually leads to a raise of the eyebrows and the curiosity if the "lover " is male or female. That varies from guy to guy but I tell them that I have room for more lovers. I like the earlier post from the girl that said she had a blond - lol, that's great, I bet that get's a bit of attention! Hope you don't mind if I steal that one for a night or two!

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
Juliete's and Mariah's remarks about "girlfriends" works for me. Customers are intrigued when I speak about a fictional GF...who happens to be my Domina by the way ;D. That way I must seek her "permission" before discussing anything. Works like a charm for a bit. I don't feel guilty playing the stripper game at times...most of the time I'm truthful and can have a standard conversation with a customer. But others don't take "NO" for an answer, so then I have no qualms about pulling out the big stripper guns.

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
God, it seems like everyone has been asking me this recently. And most of them just ask, "What does your boyfriend think of this?" before even asking if I have a BF. Grrrr...it's so annoying.
Sometimes I say I have a boyfriend (which I do, a serious one). This is what I tell guys who ask me out as soon as I introduce myself. They're not looking for dances anyway, just some stripper to take home later.
I tell most people that I am single or I talk about girls....that tends to distract them, at least for a little while. :smirk:
I am getting so sick of the guys that come to a topless bar and seem to mistake it for a dating agency, *sigh*
-
Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I hear you on that. The bar was full of guys like that tonight. C'est la vie, last week they wanted escorts. I don't know which is more obnoxious- knowing a guy has no money to spend, or knowing that he has money to spend, but only in his hotel room.
I have neither a SO nor children unless a customer is obsessive. Then I have five children and a very large husband whose brother is a cop.

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
Dancers ask me first before I ask them - well, since I never make it a point to ask first, that's a given.
I don't mind being told about relationships if there's a rapport developed. I'll answer truthfully about mine, as long as there's not too much detail. I'm as cautious of obsessive or pathological behavior as any dancer.

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I tell them the truth-- i am married--I figure most guys come to be heard, to be appriciated and doated apon! They like the brief fantasy, and just because we call it "a fantasy, an illusion of sorts" doesn't translate to mean lie. I can do my job without resorting to fraud...if some guy should start to get weird then i leave! Most people(men) find it refreshing to talk with someone who is smart and forthright, i can hold my own without having to decieve anyone!
~ i even inform them about this site and dance under Winter so that they can get a glimpse into my head if they so desire...if someone wants to stalk you, bring you harm, ect...they will do it regardless...so i fear not speaking and being who i am.

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
"What's your real name?" I guess I'm not surprised that you've been asked that, but you mean to say it's a COMMON question?

Yes, "What's your real name?" is a very common question, along with "Do you have a husband/boyfriend?" I really am single, but when I had a boyfriend and I danced I always lied and said I was single. I always found that I made more money if guys thought I was available. The only time I would tell a customer that I had a boyfriend was when they got really persistent with asking me to see them outside of the club, and the amount of money they were spending on me just wasn't worth the hassle anymore.

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
Oh lord, how to deal with the poor lost souls who haven't yet realized that we are there to make a living and not be picked up...
I've worked in New Orleans, where you get so much turnover from conventioneers and tourists that you don't need to worry about cultivating customers.
I've also worked in DC, where it's pretty much all regulars and it was almost an unspoken rule at my club that you went out with customers if you expected to keep making money off them.
I've always been honest about the fact that I've been in a commited relationship for the past 3.5 years.
I have, on a small number of occasions had dinner/hung out with a customer I felt I hit it off with, but I would always meet him at a place, he never picked me up. And I make it abundantly clear to them that it's ONLY dinner/shopping/gambling, and no more than that. An overwhelming amount of the time they still want to go though.
If the guy seems truly unsavory but is spending money, I tell him "Well, you need to impress me in here first, and then we can talk about spending time together."

Re:Do you tell customers you have a BF?
i always tell them that i am married. most of the men think that it is awsome that i am honest with them and they tip me more. i haven't had that many be turned off about it, but if they do then i just chat with them for a few minutes then excuse my-self to the bathroom. when i come out i blow them a kiss as i walk by and go find another customer. :-*

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I reply " I have a friend with benifits" . It says I have a *".#buddy and I am fun but leaves the impression that I may or may not be available.
It has never hurt my money and usually is an icebreaker. I am also not lying to them since I am accually married. 8)

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
The way I see it, when you walk thru the doors of the club you are the dancer. You have a different life than what you do outside the club. Just like you dont bring your problems to work and always be happy no matter what, you shouldnt bring your personal business to work either. Do you really think evey customer that tells you he is single is telling the truth??? Men play games too, just like we do. And as a professional, you should be able to let the customer know that you can not date him. Goodl uck!

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
"No way! I'm having way too much fun being single." At the club, I sometimes say I have a hot female roommate and we like to go out and pick up guys, and if it doesn't work out we just play with each other. They love that.

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I find work is much simpler if I say I have a boyfriend regardless of wether I have or not.
I am also still legally married (too lazy to get a divorce, lol.) So when people ask if I'm married or have a boyfriend I just say "Yeah both."
-
Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I tell them what i think they want to hear
-
Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
I usually answer no. And since I'm in the middle of a divorce, it's actually the truth.
-
Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
Most of them i would tell "yes",which actually seems to make them respect me even more, these are usually people I've known for years. Some of them I tell "no" or "it's classified information" and smile. It all depends on the cust and the time and the situation.

Re: Do you tell customers you have a BF?
well im currently single but if the question comes up i usually tell them im engagged as i wear a ring on that finger anyway.. makes things easier for me i think..
