I agree, that would especially not fly in Texas. What is she going to say next, that Jews only buy 2-for-1's? I have one hispanic customer that tips $100 for dances.
Oh please. LMAO. Mexicans in our club drink water and sit at the rail and don't tip. All the girls give them a break on lap dances. They really do get em 2-for1. So it's not just a hustle..it's the truth. Oh...and my family is mexican and my bf is jewish. So there. It's a nudie bar...not a PC convention.
Vanilla Dog,
Just admitt it, your comment is completely racist but I comprehend your technique. You just better be carefull who you say it to. I live in S.E. Florida and you can't always tell who is hispanic, jewish, wasp, ect. Just be careful. All you need is for that comment to back fire once and you could get yourself in hot water. :)
ME? In hot water??? NEVER!!!
Yeah girl I gotta admit it...I'm working in Oregon right now and it's pretty much all white (cept for the mexicans). I been stripping for about 9 years so I can tell a redneck when I see one.
OK...another LD tip for when a million girls are hustling the floor and the guys are just in the habit of saying no....walk up to the guy and smile....grab his hand and pull him toward the LD area. Don't say a word, let him protest if he really doesn't want a dance.
Another tip...I keep track of who tipped from the audience (not the rail) and after my stage set I walk over and thank him. I ask him how he is doing and ask if he wants company. I never sit down without asking first. If he says 'yes' i will sit for a minute and talk. Then I will ask if he is ready for a dance yet. If he says no...I tell him to come get me when he is ready and off I go to the next fella.
The biggest things to avoid: don't play the poker machines. stay on the floor and out of the dressing room. dont huddle in a clique with the other dancers. don't sit and talk to one guy who isnt tipping well or buying dances. circulate, smile and chat. it's exhausting but it works.
Vanilla_Dog, I don't want to create a hostile atmosphere here but I'm extremely offended by what you had to say. I'm half Mexican and my family is definitely not poor and 70% of my customer base is Mexican seeing as how I live so close to the border. They tip very well. That was a very stereotypical thing to say and doesn't show very well on your behalf.

Oh bleh. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. Whatever was i thinking? In fact, I think I'll quit stripping right now because ...well...strippers stereotype women and cater to men's worst ideas about us. And stripping is degrading and sexist and objectifies women etc...etc...
Oh wait. The topic is how to hustle a guy out of a buck..or $20! Heh heh....

First you post some sublimely stupid remark and then blow it off as "they deserved it" when others call you on it. Then, having discovered that your racist remark happens to apply to a member, you make some incoherent babbling attempt at derision and a fake apology.
You're off to a marvelous start, VD. Let me just remind you that when new girls show up in my club acting as you do, I merely roll my eyes and prepare to step out of the way when they get their smart little asses kicked. Don't bleed on my pretty white shoes when you leave, either. The stains won't glow under the black light.
(A stripper named VD? Say it isn't so!)
okay! For those who work near the border I suggest substituting the word "Indian" since they tend to be the bottom of the totem pole in New Mexico...and in Florida maybe use "Haitian" or "Cuban".
Ladies! chill the $%@! out. Sheesh. You just might make me start charging them mexicans full price!
VD your attempts to cover yourself make you look arrogant, pretentious, naive, and ignorant. And yes we have enough stereotypes in stripping already, why do you have to add to them?
Shayden :-*
As much as I understand what VD is saying, there are much better ways of relating to customers than using the racist card. It definitly shows the level of creativity of the salesperson.................or lack of. It's so easy to join in with the majority by laughing at or making fun of a particular segment of society. Sad.
Aight. Here's the deal. Those $10 lapdances get out of hand. One girl starts it and pretty soon all the guys are expecting 2-for-1's. I need a way to keep these guys from hustling me! (whining to management is not an option) So I do what works. When it comes to choosing between being PC and making $ I'll pick the $ everytime.
We do have a double standard in our club for mexicans. They get warnings for things that white guys get thrown out for because many of them honestly don't know the rules yet.
*shrug* Life's a bitch but I deal with it.
I can understand your frustration with the goings on at your club, but maybe you should take it up with the girls who are giving those half price dances, rather than putting your stock in stereotypes. Consider the possible negative consequences money wise should word of your attitude get around, and in time, I assure you it will.Quote:

Don't think of politeness as being "PC". Think of it as not pissing off your target demographic. Mexican, Jewish, fat, ugly, blue-collar, college aged, female it doesn't matter. Money is money. If a customer wants to spend his/hers on you, its your job to be nice to them, not make broad and bigoted generalizations based on their appearance.
I have no Hispanic in me, and I'd be turned off by a dancer who made a remark like that. Sorry.
Well it's not like I say it to the mexicans!! LOLQuote:

The funny thing is it works like a charm! We really do have to consider regional differences in attitude.
I brought this topic up in the back room with the other girls and asked what they thought. One girl said flat out: "I'm the wrong girl to ask. I won't dance for a mexican no matter how much money he has." And it's true...she won't. When they sit at her stage she walks to the other end.
I'm not too worried about it hurting my money. The big tippers are old ranchers who like a sassy girl with a sense of humor - especially a raunchy, racist, sexist, homophobic sense of humor. We do have a lot of fun!
Anyway...no more sharing advanced money making secrets for you! Stick to the ever so popular tried and true hand on the penis while asking method and good luck!
Oooh dear! I think this thread took a turn for the worst!
I'll try my best to revive it because I would love to share some secrets but please - let's put tips that appeal to a large range of people and do not offend!!! I'm all for spreading the love around here!
Yes, I totally agree with you Malibu. I have a question. I've been reading up on how to approach a customer..but what is actually DONE in a lapdance? I know you stand in front of them and move your body..but what is that gonna do. I guess I just want to be one of the best. What do you ladies do?
Wow. That is completely dependent on the local laws, the club rules, and the dancer's sensibilities. Goes all the way from standing over the guy and dancing close to him, to writhing and grinding.Quote:
but what is actually DONE in a lapdance?
In a club with a good tipping stage, I normally do this for a 2-song dance:
Dance seductively, giving most of the guys good eye contact, enough to make them think I'm interested but I don't home into anyone in particular (that way, I can get tips from most guys and it gives me time to survey the room for the most attentive customer(=normally the one most likely to spend £££ on me)).
Then in my second song (which I choose to be sexier than the first), I have an idea of my target and I dance mainly for him, lots of suggestive looks, eye contact, and when removing clothing, do it right in front of him in a very sexy manner. Lots and lots of eye contact, it's very important though!
It's like you've given him a 'private' stage-dance, he'll totally appreciate it and you are most likely to get dances once you get off the stage. But this is how I like; I prefer sticking to one customer to milk rather than hopping around 50. A lot less time-consuming.
Although, I try not to forget to thank everyone who tipped (especially the good tippers). ;)
Yea I've learned the same thing. It's best to only seek out a handful of guys to get dances from, rather than going from table to table. When you focus all of your attention on that one person, he will be willing to keep you there with him. I plan to use that approach.
I don't think that the comment was meant as an insult. It was a line. We had a club in Seattle some years back and the demographics were much different there. While there are many who may take offense to the former comment, there is a subset of them who really are looking for a way out of all there problems at someone else's expense. Nobody is a victim. You do what you do because a series of choices you made led you here. So, bury the hatchet. Obvously a comment that might not work in SE FLA works in OR. Piling on to the racist angle is a cop-out. This is a very positive forum about techniques. Onward. When I'm out "shopping the competition", I love it when a dancer remembers my name the 2nd time I'm there. The talking for 2+1 songs is great! Thanks for the space here to post.
I've worked in New Orleans where the rooms are $400 an hour and $200 for half and I've seen girls be up there for 4-5 on numerous occasions. I personally have been up there for 2-3 hours several times. The odd thing is, in cases where I've seen girls get fired for doing extras (sex of any kind, making out with the customer) is when they were doing a half hour! I think in this business, if you work in the right club and can turn on the charm like a motherfucker, it's totally possible to meet a guy in club that's so smitten with you he'll spend an obscene amount of money just to talk and be close to you for a few hours.Quote:

In my experience, it always seems like the dumb-ass 25 year olds who have to scrounge together money for the half hour that say stuff like "for that much money I BETTER get some!".
Again pretty much every club has girls that do extras, some more than other, but in the right club with the right guy, yes you can make that much and then some, without doing more than just dancing. And it happens more often than you think. ;D
Ok, even though I've only been at my club for 2 months, and I'm still considered one of the "new girls." However, a lot of the girls who have been working there awhile and myself included have been noticing something very sad lately. There are quit a few girls (mostly the newer ones at our club) who do "extras" during LD's. They are going home with over a grand some nights, while we only go home with around $200-$300. I see this industry as dwindling because of these broads. There is a fine, fine line between stripping and prostitution, and these cunts are crossing it. I'm really, really sorry for the foul language, as it shouldn't be acceptable on these forums, but this is something that's really getting to me. Our indusrty is to provide a fantasy- not fulfill it! Telling managment doesnt do any good becuase a certain amount of $ from every dance we do (1 song=1 dance) goes into the club, so the club is making out with more money. Dont get me wrong- they dont encourage us to do it, but as long as they are not right out f*@#ing the guy, it seems like they dont give a damn as long as everything is descreate. Ok, I think I'm done ranting. But I'm still feeling irked, to put it mildly. Once again, I apolagize for my language. :'(
In Texas, comments against Mexicans aren't going to get you any special favors because there are many wealthy educated Mexican men who do not have the stereotypical "mojado de la frontera" look. Especially any gal in H-Town or San Antonio........
Better ideas soon.....
i completely agree! >:(Quote:
