Makes perfect sense to me - how many wars have been fought since the beginning of time, in the name of god? Of course guns are less deplorable than nudity!
LOL
Good article Vee!
I do not really consider the reaction of the teenagers that surprising, however.
1-13-15 year olds are very "body conscious".
2-The region it occurred is very "religious" and is taught to think a certain way.
3-Kids that age are more likely to parrot what they have heard other "authority figures" say rather than to think for themselves. Yet.
This does not mean I disagree with the author in any fashion, just that I do not find it surprising. Nor would I have been surprised if they had objected in the same silly fashion to Michealangelo's "David".
I'd say that the "calibre" of the boobs versus the guns has a lot to do with it!
Good one Melonie :great:
My thoughts:
I'd Rather see boobies than guns.
I would never want to play with guns.
I do however enjoy playing with boobies.
All guns should be illegal, except for Police/Military.
Boobies should never be illegal.
Conclusion: Boobies are better than guns.
That's all.
Tyler.
I'd love to be attacked by a pair of mams :boobies: LOLQuote:

Boobs serve many purposes, guns do not. Point a gun you better use it period. Point my boob at you, you better play with it, suck it, pinch it etc.
Pamela
For the same reason that it's OK to show people killing each other on TV but not OK to show them making love - our society's values are all screwed up.
Because men are not as intimidated by guns as they are by women ;)
ps- please note the wink before flaming me guys :-*
Aussie, I think that's an unfair comparison. It's like saying why does a culture that can put a man on the moon ,not cure the common cold? Or why does the most prosperous society still have starving people?
One action in a social field may have no connection to others of a different social field.
It's like you're asking me which is more deploreable , a rape or a gangland slaying? They're both deploreable, what difference does it make which is more?
I think that it is up to the parents to decide what topics they allow to be discussed in school. If they feel sexuality should be discussed at home and not at school then so be it. Maybe they believe it should only be discussed at church. In any case ,we should not force the subject upon them if they are unconfortable with it. I don't think the schools should be or if they even want to be substitute parents.
Violence is another subject. While schools may not necessarily have to discuss sexuality they most certainly may have to discuss violence. Incidents like Columbine high school illustrates this. I think that there are several so called "obscene" violent movies that serve to teach the negatives to it. "Saving Private Ryan" and "Schindlers List" are among them.
I believe any subject can be taught if they are closely monitored and discussed. Yes ,I believe sexuallity should be addressed if premature sexual activities such as the gummy bracelets are observed or even freaking.
We know how to figure out a gun. Women..... ???Quote:

Actually, with having a gun pointed at me or asking a girl out, I think it's a toss-up between which one is more frightening. :PQuote:

p.s. Now we all know why I'm single.
There are some cases in which violence (along with nudity) has it's place. Although, in this day and age, the majority of our media uses violence and nudity to "tell a story" because they have forgotten how to move the story along with words alone. There are movie classics where there is very little violence (Hitchcock, for example...GREAT movies) but you "get the picture". We seem to have raised a generation that has no imagination and so everything has to be done for, shown to, and spelled out plain as day.
I have never objected to violence in movies like "Saving Private Ryan" (although it took me 2 times to be able to watch the beach scene...how horrible it must have been to be there then) because the violence was the focus of the story. The violence was the REASON behind the story. It was a look at history...at it's worse. Nightmare on Elmstreet...I've never watched 'em...just senseless killing and blood and gore.
It's the same thing with porn. I'm am not against porn. Hey, some people like it and that's great...HOWEVER, porn is this senseless f*cking just for f*uck's sake. When you watch porn, it's a turn-on, sure! But, it's also extremely impersonal. I don't watch porn...but, I would sure watch porn if it was more about the connection between two people instead of them just "getting it on".
People are just very much against the human body...but, hey, we were raised by people who believed that showing any part of the body was "sinful" and "corrupt". The sad thing is, that the body (men and women's) are a beautiful thing. Looking at someone's body and appreciating what you are seeing is a wonderful thing. Hopefully our country (and world) will come around to being able to appreciate our own and others body for the wonderful things they are.
:soapbox:  :boobies: :rotfl:
Titties are used to feed babies and thus, help sustain a human being's life. Guns are used to end a life. I like titties better! :boobies:
