What do you (or anyone else) think the role of women is or should be? Men were traditionally the providers, but women don't need them to be that so much anymore (y'all can take care of yourselves just fine). So hasn't the role of men changed a little too? And what should men's new role be? Maybe whatever the new roles are, they should be the same for men and women. That would be quite the equal society to aim for...Quote:

no need for "roles" ...... Mutual love, repect and honesty is all that there needs to be. Both can be providers.
Seraya.
They should be the same, but we're not there quite yet Lestat. Soon, I hope....
Look at tv shows, Maxim magazine, etc....inexpensive titillation for men, cheap, easy thrills. Its reflective of the way men (American men more specifically) feel about women. They resent us for making money off our looks and bodies, yet complaining about equality. One women REFUSES to let you open the door for her or pay for dinner, while the other DEMANDS it.
I looked at Maxim last night, they had Michelle Branch half naked with a huge print underneather her that reads "I'm a Pervert." But the actual interview with her was pretty standard, she's a normal young girl. Thus, guys are just in a state of gender relations anomie.
We are too, I just havn't addressed why women, particularly strippers, supposedly hate men, but I have a feeling its not too dissimilar from why men hate women.
Remember, we are expected to believe that love and romance conquer all problems, and the reallife results are always dissapointing. Its a human relations nightmare, hehehe
My $.00002 if you will....
Awww, you're an optimist and a romantic, aren't ya? :DQuote:

Most dancers/women don't hate men as a gender, we hate particular behaviors which dancers often see in high consentration after the begin dancing in clubs.

No I don't know what you're thinking and I'm not a psychic. Did I claim to be one? That's the whole point of the discussion. Are you trying to be nebulous ? The only way I can understand you is if you share your thoughts. The reason I analyze you is because I don't know you.Quote:

Well that's good because the only way I could do that would be to ignore all your posts. Through sharing? Well I guess then you're content on being misunderstood. Suit yourself. :)Quote:

When I was young I was taught nothing was going to be handed to me. Maybe that's because I have a conservative parent. My role in life was to be a provider.Quote:
Guys want it all handed to them. We're raised to believe "love wins" above all like in the romantic movies, and the truth is, women want to sleep with the wild, bad boy, and use the good boy for his resources despite the fact that we are no longer completely financially dependant upon men.
You know we're all taught the ideals although most of us will fall far short of it. Yes I do believe that love wins in the end. I also believe we all most likely pick the wrong path in the beginning but hopefully experience and wisdom will eventually lead us to the right choice. God I'm such a hopeless romantic!!!!!!
Well the feminist movement caused us to reexamine the gender roles. Some of it was for good ,some of it was for worse. THe gender roles were chosen way before the feminist movement. They were chosen since the dawn of man. None or all of us decided it. It's just how society decided to best deal with the discrepancies of the sexes.Quote:
I believe that the feminist movement has caused men to be confused on what the role of the women is and should be. Meanwhile, the role of men has not really changed. This harbors uncertainty, discomfort, and resentment. Hopefully, this will change, because I know MANY MANY more men that hate women, than the opposite effect.....
Man was chosen as the hunter because he could leave and track down animals they wounded or poisoned. Women stayed at home because it was hard to drag the kids along on a hunt, they were more suited to looking over the home and protecting the young. Men were chosen as the protectors for the weaker women and children.
So in doing so mankind has broken the genders into seperate roles and standards. When you separate anyone into seperate groups it always fosters lack of communication, rivalry, and misconceptions. Being that there are two standards, the two sides will never be equal. Therefore the playing field is always slanted one way or the other. This is the big , constant debate. Because whenever society decides which way the field slants that is the way it decided it should operate. How else could it be?
Yes and that's why I tried to limit it to women who hate men because they assumed their profession. But I'll take what I can. :)Quote:
just a nutshell thought, this is a really complicated issue ;)
THe question was ,strippers WHO do hate men as a result of pursuing their profession why do they do so?Quote:
I think most of the ladies here answered you question.... NOT ALL STRIPPERS/WOMEN HATE MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just hate the disrepect. and yes i agree with katrine this is a complicated issue.
You know the question really sounds redundant. I totally understand what you mean. I've answered so many posts reguarding pole dancing, bruises, diet and exercise that I think I should just xerox the answers and cut and paste each time. But new people keep coming in all the time and there goes that post again. THe reason being that they didn't catch the answer the first time or there may have been new developments on the issue. But the reason for posting-- they didn't have their questions answered to their content.Quote:
Why the hell can't you just leave it at that! I mean if you feel that the strippers that YOU come across hate you/men then ask THEM.
Right , that's because I want the strippers that hate men to respond. Some strippers hate "some" men as well. I want the strippers that do hate men specificly.Quote:
ugh- the title says "Why do strippers hate men" not "why do some strippers hate men"

If you want to participate then why don't your list your many reasons why you don't like men?
I do.Quote:

I find that when I act like a jerk around women, some of them think I'm a total asshole and can't stand me but then there will always be those women who are attracted to that sort of bravado, think I must be really self-assured and then proceed to fawn all over me. I'm aiming for the latter.Quote:

I don't hate men, I have just decided that I do better without them emotionally. I have been hurt enough times to realize that it's impossible to win at them. Men make awesome friends.... but I always fail at relationships. I had a hard childhood and i think it probably stems from that, so I have chosen to stay single for the last year and a half.....

We've all been hurt, welcome to the club. A relationship is not a contest. You do not enter it to "better or one up" your partner. A relationship should be win-win or it's destructive.Quote:

That's fine. Many of us have problems dealing with our past. The trick to knowing others is knowing yourself. I respect your choice and don't feel coerced to change it unless you feel comfortable with it.Quote:

Your comments are always welcome by me. ;D
Since I rarely post on the pink site, I havent participated in what apparently has been a well worn topic. So please excuse me if I jump in for a sec with my two cents. After this I will go away LOL
I have a half-dozen dancers I hang out with at the club (fondly known as The Flockettes) on a regular basis and at least that many more whom I know pretty well. Not a single one has shown any indication that she hates men. Quite the opposite actually. Every one either dates or is in a relationship with a man. Two of them are bi-sexual but its a hobby rather than a career. Strippers have more drama than the average woman (IMO) but I think thats an inherent part of working in a strip club. Doesnt mean they hate men. Hell, the DJ's, Door Girls and Restroom Trolls probably have drama filled lives too LOL
"A Few Strippers Hate Men" is probably an accurate statement but to say all or most do is just plain wrong. My personal experience has taught me otherwise.
FBR
Well FBR I was hoping you would be able to tell us about the "ones"that do hate men. I am fully aware that most strippers do not hate men however the "ones" that I do want to hear from or about are the ones I've given discription to in this article.
Than's for your input and try to make it over here more often. You might find it interesting.
Are there several similar topics on this?
The Fishing Trip
Walk … Walk … Tap… Tap…..
Swish… Swish….
Gurgle, gurgle,
Well I am finally at the old fishing hole. Let’s open the tackle box and see what we’re fishing for today.
Hmm… The water’s a little cold and it appears relatively clear.. It could be a perfect time and season to catch the most impressive thing of all…..drum roll….. “The bitter defensive STRIPPER. This seems to be the perfect spot.
Creeeakk… Opening the tackle box. “What kind of bait did I bring?” Um…. Well I have some of the “Why are you a lesbian?” lures… but, I don’t know.. It doesn’t appeal to all of the fish..
“Oh my GOD, what is this in the bottom of the tackle box? “ Don’t tell me I have an ample supply of the “Why do all strippers hate men?” fishing fly? And this one is in spectacular colors too……Look at the articulation.
“Well, I think I will bait this and cast it out there.” Crunch, Swish, Whirl. PLOP.
Water swirling, now frothing. ZING. The line is running out at 60000 miles / hour..
IT’S the MOTHER LODE!!!!!!!! Look at the size of that one… and what a fighter too. Whoa baby . I haven’t seen a set of dorsals like that since I scanned thought the gallery.
Oh my GOD, it’s bigger than I am.. I’m being pulled in. I can’t let go. HELP ME SOMEONE I’M BEING EATEN ALIVE.
Love you all. ;D
It's so nice to see a Dreamer "Why do strippers hate men" thread alive and well.... NADA! Excuse me while I go have a nice cup o' joe to start my day.... :sarcastic:
Here's my last words on this...
'Why do SOME Women HATE men'
(I can't speak for strippers)
Well...after being:
Abused (sexually, or emotionally, or mentally, or physically, some of the above, or all of the above)...
Attacked (raped, or beaten, or both)...
Lied to...
Cheated on...
Looked down upon...
Treated like an object with no opinon, say so, or feelings...
Treated like a sexual toy...to be thrown out and replaced at will...AND/OR
Treated like the inferior (or even the less intelligent) gender...
Some of the above...or all of the above...I wonder why most women still LIKE men...
But...I know... 'Not all men are like that...' :sarcastic:
Right... :bored:
Hopefully this answers this...question...
:peace:
I only hate men with no sense of humor. ;D
