"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I was sitting at lunch today paging through the current issue of Las Vegas City Life and came across an article that's online at http://www.lasvegascitylife.com/arti...ews/news01.txt. Unlike many things, this at least looks like a legitimate business. Of course, it may be that most of what they teach is just common sense, however sometimes people need someone else to tell them something that seems obvious before the little light bulb goes on. Lord knows I have.
Has anyone heard about this before or had any experience with the company?

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
No condescension towards others in my career, but you would be shocked on occasion at the things that shouldn't have to be said... but have to be said. Such as:
Keep track of how much you make.
File your taxes.
Don't get drunk at work.
Save... and not 10%.
Have a ten year plan. (Even more important for dancers than the rest of the population, as this may be your total career).
Don't do drugs. Especially not on the job.
Let's hope they are on the up-and-up, because this could be a tremendous boon for area dancers.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Sounds ok to me - and bravo to the stripper who figured out another way to make money from this industry

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Two facts of life need to be recognized here:
1. Half of all humanity is below average
2. No one (or almost no one, so don't say "I did " Josh. LOL) had a course in high school or anywhere in the course of a "normal" education in how to sell.
The vast majority of people learn common sense the hard way. The vast majority of dancers are young or youngish and could certainly benefit from learning selling techniques. Either that or they will take 6 months learning them on the job, making less than full-potential earnings. I just hope they teach "Lilith's Laws" and a dose of "Melonie's Magic" along with the sales techniques. (Sorry Josh but I could not come up with a good word to go with Josh to capture your valuable insights, and MoocowWebMistress I had already used my M word)

Not me...there are many things I do well in life. Selling is not one of them. I've always had a hard time selling a service unless I really believed in it (you don't know how many times I was fired from magazine soliticing jobs).

Hmm...Joshua's Jive? No, that doesn't sound very respectable. Joshua's Judgements? Nah, too arrogant. Joshua's Insane Ramblings? Well, at least that's one on which many could agree.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Hi there. My name is Adam. I wanted to jump into this conversation because, well, it's about me. ;D Well, it's about my business anyway. I do frequent these forums from time to time, and today I got a call from someone interested in attending our program. Interestingly enough, she said she heard about us through StripperWeb. I did some searching and here we are.
Just to give you a little background as to who we are and how we came to be... My history is that of a sales trainer. I've worked with some of the top sales and money making experts in the world and have been an event mentor and promoter for many of these people (who wish to remain nameless as to the industry we all work in). I've done sales, persuasion, and influence training for some of the top sales people throughout numerous industries. Years before that though, while I was in college, I used to perform as a magician. It was that background that let me eventually evolve it into a business many years later where I was designing and building illusions for magicians. While I was active in that business, I started getting calls from exotic dancers all over the southwest to help build them stage props for their specialty acts in the clubs. I even built a series of illusions for one dancer.
While I was in one of my client's clubs one night, I saw her work the floor and she did a horrible job of it. She went home that night with about $100. I had a friend who was a dancer in that same club who routinely made over $1000 each night. She didn't do anything illegal or unethical, she just knew how to sell, how to communicate, and how to work the club. SO, I started helping her over a series of weeks. In no time, with the skills I taught her, she was making over $500 a night. That was four years ago. I spoke with her recently and she retired in August. She retired as a dancer and is now in real estate. She owns three houses and is doing awesome for herself all at the age of 27.
So I started helping dancers on occasion to make more money with a huge amount of success. In time, I made friends with a dancer named Amber who was in the process of retiring at 28. This was a girl who went home on a BAD night with $1,100. She was averaging between $1,500 and $1,800 a night. She was on the marquee of one of the most prestigious clubs in town and on eight billboards for another. She knew her stuff. So with her inner-workings of the clubs and how to massively succeed in them, and my background of high-level communication and sales teqniques, not to mention my experience in the seminar business, or dancer training program evolved into what it is today. We keep our class sizes as small as possible so we can give as much attention to our students.
Amber and I both teach each class and yes, a large part of it is really what many would consider "common sense" as has been discussed in this thread. The bulk of the program teaches the skills that many dancers just haven't been able to tune into though. In just about every club, you have about 95% of the dancers who make about $100 - 250 a night and the other 5% make $800 or more. The reality is, that that 5% knows something the other 95% doesn't know. We teach what the 5% know, and a LOT more. There are some video tapes floating around that scratch the surface of these skills, but I guarantee, nothing comes close to what our program teaches.
Our students usually consist of 1 of 2 categories. Some are dancers who have been in the business for some time but just haven't been able to make the money they know they should be making. The other half are those who are very new to this business and really feel overwhelmed and have no idea where to start. That's where we are able to help.
If you are interested in learning more about what our program entails, you can check us out at [url]www.dancerwealth.com/url]. If you have any questions regarding the program, you can feel free to email us too.
Oh, also, this topic started as a result of an article written about us in Las Vegas CityLife, which is the largest independant newspaper in Las Vegas. We were actually recognized by the Las Vegas Business Press several weeks earlier as a featured business profile for that week. They are owned by the same company and thought that the article was good enough from the Business Press to run in CityLife. So here we are. I hope I was able to shine some light as to what our program is really about and thanks for chatting about us!

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Well, my wife is taking the class on Sunday. Hopefully I can convince her to write up a participant's review. She also mentioned that Adam (and maybe Amber?) are visiting her at her club tonight, so perhaps she'll be able to report on her impressions of them. I know she said she was quite favorably impressed with Adam from speaking to him on the phone.
-
Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Thats great josh....Even if your lady doesn't post a review pls let us know how it went for her.
cheers, Seraya.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Alas, everyone else in who was supposed to be in the class this weekend is working at AVN, so the class has been postponed until the 26th. And the club had a private party last night for some AVN people who wanted to film something there, so Adam did not make it. More details as they develop.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I'm definately interested in going. I am looking at the February 8th date as soon as I finish working the Super Bowl.
My fiancee' keeps telling me this business is all about selling skills.
I am open to improving mine.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I just wish there was something like this "down under" (here in Australia). I would DEFINATELY pay for it as I'm part of the "dancers who have been in the business for some time but just haven't been able to make the money they know they should be making" category.
I just need the proper training. I have read about sales (Sales Dogs by Blair Singer), I have heard about sales (the club invited a speakers to speak about sales yet it wasn't an effective presentation)... I just need SOMETHING: a seminar that involves active participation not just someone telling me something.
I just need to cover the "learn by doing" base and then I know I will be able to start make serious $$$. I have learnt through reading and hearing/listening.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Want to learn how to appreciate the money you make. Do telemarketing! These poor people have to really push the right buttons for a sale. After earning that check, i think you will really spend your monet well!
Just 2 months telemarketing! It takes LOTS of skill and balls to get on the phone and "cold call" for a sale.
That is one simple way to learn how to respect money.
I like the class too!
Lotsa luck to those who go!

Ain't that right! I've had a few telemarketing jobs ( back in the day) and i didn't last a week.... true say i was 13 and then 15 at the time but it was hard, however i learn't alot! If you can cold call that will definitely help!
I'm really considering traveling to to LV for this. My friend who lives in LA is always asking me to come. I think when i go to NY in march for my hols i might take a flight to cali for a week.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Lol Seraya! I have done it too, for extra cash years ago, now the owner is in state prison for CC fraud. Gee.
Good luck to you if you go! Let me know how it is. Sales is a tough job for alot of people, and i think this will be great, even for those who can sell pintos in a mercedes world!

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I was TERRIBLE at telemarketing (back then, we called it "phone sales) when I did it in my teens. I couldn't sell products I didn't believe in. One job, not only did we cold call, our line was "We're calling about the home improvement work you requested last week." If the response was "I didn't call about that", we went to "Oh, they must have written down the wrong phone number...well, while I've got you on the phone...etc., etc., etc." Amazingly, there were a few people who said "Oh, I'm so glad you called me back!" and then ordered work. I say amazingly, because none of these people had ever been called before. They must have been confusing me with someone who actually had called.
I have no idea if the company ever even did the work or if it was any good. It was just a paycheck to me (for the month or so I lasted).
-
Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I also did telemarketing (phone sales) for some quick cash for a fortnight. A local company hires all sorts: locals, backpackers, etc. They hold an information session, ask you to speak and it based upon your voice whether or not they hire you. Then they hire you for a fortnight and the people with the highest "sales" (as such since at the time it was tickets to a real estate seminar we were trying to sell) were approached for a possible job. The rest of us got our money no matter how good or bad we were.... it was actually quite fun as I met alot of great people via that for that fortnight since we all were in close proximity to each other.
This was way before I even considered exotic dancing.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Hi Josh.
Just to follow-up on your message, we missed your wife by
about ten minutes.
When we showed up to the club, we were much surprises
(as most of the dancers working that night) that they were shooting a video in
the club.
Amber and I did happen to catch up with her the next night
though and had the pleasure of being able to chat with her for a little
while.
It was unfortunate that we had to reschedule her class, and with
AVN in town, we had little choice.
The class we are going to have on
the 25th is going to be wonderful as we have such a great mix of people
attending.
After meeting your wife, I saw that she already knows much
about this business, and we are still going to be able to help her tremendously
as well.
Thanks for updating everyone in here about the class and we can't
wait to hear her reviews.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
I have spoken with someone who is a respected person in my local club scene and he told me that the Gold Coast is like a very small scaled down version of Las Vegas in re: clubs. Thought this comment was interesting...
So I'm  that something like this course might benefit me if I timed it so that I was on a holiday at the same time that they offered one of these courses. ;)
Since it's only one full day of training... I could easily do this. Wouldn't mind being able to see some of the Las Vegas clubs since the last time I went to LV was with family and I was DEFINATELY under age. :)
The only problem is .. I'm guessing most of the LV clubs won't let an unescorted female into the club... so.. would they let a group of females in the club (as I will try and bring two other stripper friends with me for the holiday)... ???
Whoever does do this course... PLEASE post to this thread about it.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
A lot of the LV clubs say "Single Ladies and Couples Always Welcome", so I think showing up at one unattended isn't that big a deal. If you have any questions, I'd just call the club in question first. I'm sure a group of girls would be welcome.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
NVJosh, we keep dancing around in the same conversations!
I was the dancer from Stripperweb who contacted Adam, and am signed up for the class class on Jan 25th. I figured since I was in town for Jimmy Buffet on the 22nd, I may as well kill 2 birds with one stone.
You can always stand to learn something new, and since I've never had any sales training, it can't hurt!

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
Britney - Maybe its a sign that we're destined to be lifelong friends and companions, that our paths will cross again and again.
Or maybe its just a sign that you're a moderator and active on the boards and I'm obsessive-compulsive and spend more time on the boards than the average bear. :o :P ;D
I'm an optimist and going with choice #1 :)
-
Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
NVJosh,
It's definately #1, we'll have to have a margarita next Thurs.
Adam, I'm looking forward to the class next Sun.

Re:"Wealth Training" for Dancers
As I post this, the class is going on...my wife called on a break and said there were about six people in the class and it was fun...past that, no details yet.
