Awh, are we feeling a bit jaded tonight. Do you really feel as blasé, about new years, BDs... or are you just making an attempt to rationalize biting beautiful women? Damn! there I go again assuming, you said everyone; so does this include men as well? ;) Jason made a new years resolution over on the blue site, would you bite his masculine neck too? Again, just an assumption; but I seriously doubt he'd enjoy that.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
NT you are safe from Sandy's canines. Using logic, one can identify Sandy when you see him-- he will be the one doing St. Vitus's dance trying to bite himself on the neck.
I voted 3 because of the first half of it coming closer. I do not make resolutions because putting the effort into coming up with one or two that I will ignore is a wasted effort.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
A good poll, but I'm not sure how to answer. I usually, not always, resolve something or another, and sometimes it works. But I'll follow Naomi's lead and stick to finishing some writing. Let's see how it goes.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
I resolve to drink more water and return my movie rentals to Blockbuster on time this year. (Does this mean I shall be bitten twice or will start avoiding future late fees??)
Re:New Years Resolutions?
Never put a new year resolution on my back, i make changes when ever i feel i need to, a certain day that is tradition wont work for me. Also most people make A resolution that is a very high standard. Only to be broken.
I make changes when needed. Also gift giving is a year long process for me too. I am not big on holidays.
Sorry, i hit "don't bother" that makes sense to me. Jan 1st is the same as may 1st in my book. :)

Re:New Years Resolutions?
My New Year's resolution is to cut back on my drinking. I love to go to regular bars and parties, and sometimes I drink too much at work too. So I want to cut back a little and not be such a lush. :drunk:
Re:New Years Resolutions?
I make change in my life around the new year. I could do it some other time, but I choose to do it then - but it's actually a process for me.
On Yule, I choose something I don't want to have in my life anymore (last year I chose stop having people in my life that are bad for me). I write the thing on paper and do a ritual to cement it as gone. I could (and often do) do this any time of the year, but for me Yule is the time I stop and evaluate and contemplate.
Then on the new year, I choose something that I would like to focus on in my life (last year it was making freinds who are good for me - and I haven't totally got the hang of it but there's a *big* difference), and I do a ritual to bring it into my life. Again, I can, and do, do this any time of year, but New Years is a time I set aside specifically for reflection and change.
Hell, if I could live through enough new year's I'd be perfect LOL

Re:New Years Resolutions?
This year I intend to try and beat a very big phobia of mine. Even if it takes hypnotherapy, counseling, and all the money and strength that I have. It's been controlling my life for long enough now. Now is the time for me to try and gain some control over my own fear. I use just about the exact same method of reflection and goal setting as Lena. Of course you can set goals at any time, but I find the New Year a good time for me to work on specific things. For the poll, I chose number three.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
Its not really a resolution, but something I have been thinking about a lot lately, and just happens to coincide with the New Year (so why not use that as another re-enforcement). I think I am going to do what I can to stop shoving people away from me, and maybe break down a few walls I have built up since my divorce. I still have the rest of my life to live - I should live it.
I have also decided to stop fiddling around with my historical writing and actually polish up and submit some of the articles I have been writing to a few magazines. There are also two short stories that have been half done. I think I will finish them too.
I think all of these are attainable.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
I chose the last one.....thus my resolution should be to practice self-control!!! (Katrine, who is eating nachos and drinking soda as we speak!)

i think i make this resolution every year, maybe the night before has somehting to do with it. voted #3...
Re:New Years Resolutions?
My new years resolution is to treat dancing like a real job and dance 4-5 days a week. I make a resolution every year. Sometimes I am able to make it work and sometimes things are beyond my control, or I just don't know how to make it work. I always try though.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
None of the poll options applied to me because I never make New Years resolutions; I make New Year's AFFIRMATIONS.
[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]My bills are paid on time. I wear panties.[/move]
Those were my affirmations for the new year.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
Hmm....this year's resolutions begin with the typical.... eat healthy, work out more, etc. I also want to learn to speak German and Latin (basic), make lots of cash dancing, be more empathetic towards others, increase my self-confidence, maybe fall in love (and have it last, unlike last year), get formally into a grad program, stun others with my intellect...woohoo! Probably easier to attain that with a taser. Ah well.

LOL m! I know what you mean. Drinking and going out are fun; hangovers are not fun! It doesn't help that Wisconsin is full of people that like to go out and get drunk. :drunk: I voted for #2.

Re:New Years Resolutions?
I forgot to add that this year I will also have sex with Orlando Bloom when he's dressed as Legolas!
Re:New Years Resolutions?
i chose the first one....this year my resolution is to not get involved in a relationship. its so much time and effort i could spend doing other things :P
Re:New Years Resolutions?
I feel that new years resolutions can help put into focus exactly what you have been needing to do but putting off. My new years resolution is to be on time (at least most of the time), but was late this morning as usual.
Re:New Years Resolutions?
I have quit smoking on January first. Twice, lol.
I very, very rarely make resolutions. Since the last time I quit smoking it seems to have stuck, I have resolved to quit posting interminable essays concerning the creation of erotic art when DJing.
