Re:How much money is typical?
For me, since I am now in the slow part of the season where I am at.. if I don't make $150 a shift.. I am disappointed with myself :(. A great shift for me is anything $400 or plus. ;D
(PS If I earn $150 for a shift then I have made more than the bar waitresses at my club as that would be the only other job I could do at the club ... so that makes me feel a little better.)
Please remember my club is a percentage club. That's why the figures are so low as the "high money earners" only average around $500-700 a shift consistently at this club.
Since the cut from 1hour/VIP dances at my club is $160/90 (punter pays/cut dancer receives).. even if the dancer is booked for the whole shift (9 hours).. that's still only $810. The only time someone can earn $1000 for a shift is during Indy (late October) as the club increases its lap dance prices during this period. :o ;D
My club is a good club only because of the consistent earnings you can make instead of up and down earnings at another club. The share of customers are between my club and just one other club out of 5 clubs located in central Gold Coast.
Typical earnings can vary from $100 thru to $500 at the moment - slow season. From June until early Jan - typical earnings increase to $300-$700 per shift.
Re:How much money is typical?
Just wondering where does everyone work? and how is the $$$$$? thanks!
Re:How much money is typical?
I think it is pretty obvious where I am located and how is the $$.. just read my post located on page 2 of this thread. ;)
Re:How much money is typical?
Getting back to some of the earlier postings, I dont agree that money potential in relatively big clubs differ from those in smaller clubs. I worked at one of the better clubs in my city- where at least 100 girls work on most nights- and I've found that the hustling and amount of s**t I put up with isn't nearly what I should be making, although I was-for a long time- under the impression that Big Club = Big Money...
However, I went to a VERY small club last week and went from being one of the average- looking (since I don't have fake breasts and I am not exactly stick-like) to being the best looking girl in the whole club--- I made $400 before I could even blink- a figure that usually took me a 6 hour shift to average. Take it- I didn't have as big a selection in clientel, but those there were waiting for me.
I know how to make money in big clubs and I have found I can make a more constant income in big clubs, but for an instant spike in confidence (and- on weekends- income) I think small clubs can be great- at least for this Brittany Spears Look- Alike (and not by choice).
Re:How much money is typical?
May a guy step in with a question? How many of you dancers personally know of someone who saved enough to retire before 35 y/o?
The reason I ask is I had an 18 y/o roommate in the hippy days who could make $500 a night selling drugs but never saved a nickel.

Re:How much money is typical?
I know some dancers who have. But just like in any career or business, it takes a person who doesn't go with the flow, and who doesn't care what other people think of her, and who is totally committed and focused to do so.
A small percentage of people in any business will break tradition. And a lot of it comes from lack of training.
Re:How much money is typical?
Ohhh man. I feel like crap now. I was working a gown club for a short while but hated the stuffiness of it and returned back to the club I was at before small, neighborhood bar, dances $20. Shifts are from 8pm-2am. We're pulling like $150-$250. a night right now and that's good compared to what some of the other girls are making. My best night is Sunday when my regulars (a married couple) comes in for a few hours and that's an immediate $500. Shifts are 6:00pm-2am. Aside from that, the I work in Massachusetts land of no contact also. I am seriously thinking of sucking it up and crossing over into medium contact or something. This SUCKS. I feel so discouraged now. :(
Re:How much money is typical?
Kayla--Massachusetts sucks. I worked in a tiny club (6-8 girls per shift) and averaged $200 a night, even though the club only took $25 per shift. The money just wasn't there, though--I'd have to go through the whole club and ask every single guy, sometimes more than once. I think CT clubs might be better, though I don't know firsthand. If anyone does know about Connecticut clubs, let me know!
Re:How much money is typical?
Wow, I need to take hustling lessons from you guys! $200/hr! I will be happy if I can make $20/hr. I am worth so much more than that, but still, there is no other place that I can wear those clothes and shoes and dance and make that kind of money. There is no way that I would rather sell jeans or flip burgers for $7/hr. So to me, it would be worth it. I plan on going back to stripping, and I only hope I will make $20/hr at least. That will be the minimum that I will set for myself.
Re:How much money is typical?
This might sound a little harsh, you are are selling yourself short. It's more than the clothes and shoes. It's your body. You are getting naked. You should be getting at least $200 a night (and I consider that a modest minimum). If you are making less than that on a regular basis, you are doing a disservice to yourself and dancers everywhere. If there are dancers doing it for peanuts, then it cheapens the whole industry.

Well, as I said before, I am worth so much more than $20/hr. But like you have said before, $20 bucks per hour is $20 bucks--where else are you going to find that? Where else are you going to find the flexible scheduling? I'd say that $20 bucks an hour is pretty nice for only baring your breasts (and sometimes baring nothing!), when lots of girls do it for free! And $20 bucks/hr. is also pretty good for pretty much just sitting around. When I danced, I usually did not hustle. Partly because I think I was getting kind of worn out. And I just wanted to make sure I made enough to live off of. I hope to dance again, and if I do I will be going in with a different attitude this time. Everything from parts of my physical self to my hustling skills will be made over. And thankfully, it will not be my way of making my living--I will be doing it for extra money and fun.
Also, I read a post of yours on the topic regarding nightly minimums--and that is great advice! I think I'll take it!
Re:How much money is typical?
TO DANCER WEALTH
Ok, I've been dancing for 4 years now, and you do have some good points. Yes, the earning potential in larger clubs can be greater. But the money is larger clubs is not as consistent as in your neighborhood bar. Why make $1500 one night and then make $50 the next, when you can consitently make a few hundred bucks every night.
I've worked at all types of clubs. It's hard to pay your bills working at these upscale clubs, when you never know who is going to walk through the door and what they are going to make. Not to mention that when the stakes are higher, there is a lot more catfighting. I'm not one to tell the other girls what I make each night, but a lot of them make it their business to find out just how many VIP's you've done, how many dances, and so on.
If you could show me how to consistently make good money in a major club, I'll come to your city jsut to give you a lapdance! :D
Re:How much money is typical?
Here in Ohio, on a day shift at an average club, you'd be lucky to bring home $100. At night, you can usually manage $100, and on the weekend nights, $200-$400. That's at a clean, legal, but not top-of-the-line club.
This thread has made me feel really crappy too. I need to find a club where I can make more money.

if you've been there a while then you'll get the hang of it and be able to walk out with 1000 or over every night! it takes regulars and it takes time to develop a huge cliental!
damn i have been a dancer for 7 years and im not making a 1000 a night .....where do u work i think im moving ;)
Re:How much money is typical?
Ohio Paige Dancer, I'm in Binghamton, NY, and that earning figure sounds like here. - I'll note, I have no regulars. I have guys that'll go so far as to ask what nights I'm working next week, promise to come, but haven't.
We keep being told that summer is a lot better, you can make over a grand a night, etc. etc. but we'll see. I'm glad I'm only doing this for extra money, otherwise a lot of nights I'm coming home with $80 after a nine hour shift, and if I had to pay health insurance and a bunch of other crap on top of it.. :P
