Wanting To Be In An Amateur Contest
Hi... Im new to the site and I just finished reading the post for making more money in the amateur contest...and I really think she should just lose the weight and go enjoy herself.
I wanted to dance but it didnt sit well with my bf since there were so many safety issues. However, after a lot of thinking and talking we came to a compromise that I could particpate in this amateur contest. I plan to be in one of these contest before March 1.
Now although the 800 dollar cash prize is really nice, I have only been practicing so that I dont look like an idoit on stage.
This contest is a little different from the one that totallyamateur described because in this one, all of the contestants are onstage at the same time. Which means we are trying to keep the audience attention in order to get votes. So, I guess my questions are...is it wrong for me to practice, Im not doing any set routine, just learning moves to all types of music? Is it true that the contest are often entered by other dancers, if so would that kill my chances of looking okay on stage? Finally, if any of you wonderful ladies/men have any suggestions on holding the audience attention (respectfully) I would appreiate any help I can get.
P.S. Thanks to all the dancers who are still down to earth, it makes going to strip clubs as a couple so much fun. ;)

hehehe...well, obviously I have nothing to offer you in terms of advice but I will say that I wish you the best of luck and above everything HAVE FUN--if you aren't having fun, then it's not worth it. :D
Re:Wanting To Be In An Amateur Contest
Practicing is ok. Just don't try to do any moves that might make you look ungainly or totally dorky. Stick with cute and posey.
I highly recommend you and your b/f bringing as many friends as possible to cheer for you. The contests are either rigged or won by audience applause. Don't think for a sec that the girl who won/wins didn't have any friends in the audience.
Good luck and yes have fun!
