WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I want to purchase instructional videos and was wondering what you've heard about these titles and which ones you have used and recommend. Thanks so much!!!
-Fawnia's Videos, especially the lap dance and floor show video.
-Sheila Kelly's S Factor, I heard it's mostly geared towards housewives.
-Carmen Electra's: How are her videos? Comments, please!
Thanks.
Also, if anyone may be interested in selling their video or copying them for me, I will pay good prices.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
To be honest the tapes are just going to build up dust. You could go to the club before they open and practice. Watch the girls at you club or go to other clubs and watch. I learned all the pole tricks within a week. I went to my club when it was dead and one of the dancers help me out with my form. I been working off and on for over a year probably 2 years now.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I agree about the club being the best thing. You just need to get out there and do it. I think it's good to expose yourself to different things though. I haven't seen the S Factor video, but if it's anything like the book, it's very good. If you buy the video, you really have to tell me how it is. Fawnia's videos weren't that great. I sold all of mine on Ebay, except for the pole work. Her videos seem kind of "homemade", and didn't teach me anything new. They're also outdated. The polework is worth keeping though. I have the Carmen Electra videos also and I think they're fun. They were expensive (65+S&H)and each video is short. The Fit to Strip Video of the series, is a really good workout.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
You would think that Fawnia's tapes are the best since she's a dancer, but I guess it isn't so great. As for the Carmen Electra DVDs, would one need to purchase the whole set, or just pick one or two? I mean, do each video build on each other? Thanks for the info girls!
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I saw clips of Carmen tapes and she is not a dancer. Dancers in a club dont use a chair unless your going a guy a lap dance. What tape do you need. I have the pole dancing for Fawnia. I watch it once and was piss. Cause I learn most of the moves in 3 days.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
If you want a good workout get Carmen Electra's Fit to Strip (Disk two) the others are fun and there are a few cute moves but you'll learn the most from going to clubs.

Sorry to butt in however I have actually seen dancers use chairs in stage shows and in private dances. My favorite dancer had a several moves that the other girls called her "chair tricks." The best one was a balancing move she did on the arms (these were the high back type) during privates at a no touch club. It scared me everytime thinking she was going to fall and thrilled me everytime when she finished the move like it was nothing out of the ordinary. I gave her alot of credit for being inventive like that.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
Well I live NYC, maybe a feature dancer would use a chair but not likely. Some of the clubs are very high class and strict. 8)
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
oh don't get me wrong TiniSyNs ( btw love the name :D) this was in a upscale no touch club- what you gals refer to as a "showclub" I guess. It was Mens Club in N.C.
Anyway she was one of the best performers I ever saw so when I saw the chair reference it reminded me of her .
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
ok.. i bought all of fawnia's video's. ALL of them.. before i started dancing i watched them all the time, but to be honest they are really useless. if you want to learn how to dance/table dance/lap dance it is BEST done AT the club. just go as a customer and observe, observe, observe. it's really not difficult. ;D
okay, EDIT: the only oneof fawnias really worth buying is the pole moves one. and its ONLY worth it if you have a pole installed in your house, with a mirror and a videocamera, and a TV in the room so you can watch the video and practice at the same time. she has some good moves but alot are very hard to learn if you need to lose alot of weight or dont have enough muscle to hold your own body weight up.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
hey guys,
i have fawnia's videos. i agree they are 'home-made', but are informative. i was wondering about carmen's also. but, i wonder what other pole tricks there are besides those on her video?
the girls at the club i'll be dancing at don't do any pole moves really, other than simply climbing it.... and there aren't many clubs in my immediate area. i go to nyc sometimes (my b/f's family is there). only the club's i've been to don't do many tricks, either. i love the pole, and most customers seem to like the action. i'm definitely original, since the others don't do a whole lot, lol. and the guys seem to love it!
i've seen a photo of a girl hanging by one leg.... i'm trying to master that one by at least figuring out how to gracefully get into position. if anyone has any advice on this, i'd appreciate even a description.
Thanks!
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I purchased a video titled "The Ultimate Pole Trick Instrucitonal Video" that stars Nikita Kash. This is a great instructional video for intermediate to advanced pole tricks. It was produced by the woman who wrote the Entertainer's Bible. Check out the web site. Now that I have the video, I need to decide which pole to install in my apartment. I have narrowed it down to two...the Lil Mynx or the Platinum Stage. Has anyone tried either one?
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
i have a lil mynx pole myself. it works great! although, i have a painted finish, so it does not have as much grip. brass provides the best grip. my club has brass poles, and i can tell the difference. for example i was having difficulty hanging on upside down with my legs at home, but it's a cinch at the club. so, in a way it may be better getting used to hanging on so tight. since tricks are easier at the club, they'll look nearly flawless.
platinum stages' poles are mounted on a small stage, which isn't a good idea in my opinion. Mainly b/c it's too small, so you can't practice going from the pole into floor moves. Also, it decreases the usable length of the pole, which may be an issue if you don't have vaulted ceilings. :)
the lil mynx works very well, although it'll cost almost $300. i've read about installing your own with supplies from home depot. but, it's so much easier just buying one ready to go.
the only other thing to remember is that the lil mynx must have carpet at the base for grip. i have hardwood floors, so what i did was use a rubber-backed bathroom rug over the hardwood. this works well.
good luck pole shopping!
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
Did you find using Fawnia's videos helpful before having to audition? I have NEVER danced before and am considering doing so, do the tapes prepare you at all?
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
Platinum stages sells poles that do not require the portable stage. In fact their "regular" poles are cheaper than Lil Mynx (cost me about $130 with shipping). Plus, they ship super fast and are very nice. You can see what a platinum stage pole looks like in my apartment. I have pictures in the gallery (under LayaLeighton).
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
Never buy "The Art of Exotic Dancing."
It is just the basics; hip rolls and minimal floor work. Blarg.
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I was wondering if anyone has the video called, "The art of exotic dancing"? could anyone please tell me if it's worth buying even though $20. Thanks. Charley
Re:WHICH VIDEO SHOULD I PURCHASE?
I have to say no to buying "the art of exotic dancing". It isn't so much a dance instructional video as it is a self help program for older woman to feel sexier and more confident with themselves. The instruction that is provided is short and simple. You have walking, hip rolls, floorwork, and that's it. When they say it's for everyday woman, they mean it because most of these moves will not benefit you in a club enviroment (at least in the way that they're presented). There isn't a huge collection of exotic dance instruction videos out there, but any of them are better than this one.
