newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Last night, my first full shift, I discovered an amazing thing... stripping can take years off your age!
Pretty much every single guy I talked to had 3 questions for me: how old are you, do you have a boyfriend, do you have any kids.
The last two are easy, no boyfriend, and yes one daughter. I'm not going out of my way to share this info, but if asked not going to bother lying about, either. The child is the reason my shifts are going to be limited to once or twice a week. And I think it would be terrible to deny your own child, no matter where you are. She's part of who I am. And the boyfriend... well, again, easier to be honest. No boyfriend, not really looking, thank you very much.
The age question was different, though.
I didn't know that my actual age would be of such interest so I hadn't thought it thru.
The first guy that asked me was 2 years older than me: 37. So when he asked me, I said, "I'm your age." He pushed the issue and I finally told him I was 35 (my real age...be 36 next month).
I could tell it was the wrong answer. I'd caught him offguard. Hmmm. 35 must not be the right answer. We hung out some more, but I still felt like I'd somehow dampened the mood a bit. I started to see that they like to be older than you, like they've been around the block more than you, and so have something on you.
So I decide to knock 5 years off. Next guy asks me, now I'm 30. His response? "You look good for 30!" Hm. Still not quite the answer we're looking for.
Third guy asks like this...
Him: "you're in your 20's aren't you?"
Me: "yes. I'm in my... late 20's.."
Him: "yes, I can tell. you are one of those girls in your 20's. Do you have any kids?"
Me: "Yes, one."
Him: "Girl or a boy?"
Me: "Girl"
Him: "How old?"
Me: "8"
Him: "Here's $20 for you, and $20 for her. You guys go out and do something special now."
BINGO!
So, I am now 28.
And let me tell you, it feels great to be 28. Or maybe I should be 27, then I can be in my 20's for three more years.

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
LOL - I'm sorry but it just hit me as funny. Really you should ADD 10 years - then they will be like 'WOW! You Look REALLY good for 45!' LOL! I plan on doing that when I get older. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Good deal though.

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
That is too funny!! I tell people that I am in my early 20's when I am really about to be 29. They believe it though, I guess we must look good for our age huh? You Go Girl!!
Jess;)

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Lol..I would NEVER tell a client/customer my real age..apparently being over 30... is well..OLD in this society now..IF your selling your looks that is. I think a lot of guys frequenting strip club may be looking for a younger youthful woman to be attracted to them..this way they think"Hey, I've still got it"...Most 51 year old men have 51 year old wives to go home to. I think it gives them a taste then their satisfied. Of course Hollywood doesn't help any by pairing someone like Richard Gere with Winona Ryder. So men seem to always look for younger the older they get. Except for the FEW who like the Mrs. Robinson thing. I'm 32 but Holiday is 24..lol.....your selling a fantasy..who freekin needs to tell them the truth...that's why we use stage names. FANTASY, FANTASY, FANTASY. PLUS i have 4 kids..but say I have one..to cover any flaws I may have..if you know what I mean. I am SOOOOO far away from a FANTASY it's not even funny.. Men see me as USED up goods.
HIM: "Hey Sweety, your a cutie pie." "So tell me a little about yourself?"
ME: "Well hmmm let me see....Well, I've been married twice, have 4 kids, and I'm 32.. ;)
HIM: "Oh" :yikes:
ME: "Wanna lap dance?" :boobies:
HIM: "Umm...I, I, ah...Ya, sure but I left my wallet in my car". "I'll be right back.":irked:
ME:  :sarcastic:
LOL ::)

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
That's really stupid. So you're married with children and over 30. If you're a good stripper it shouldn't mind. At least I don't mind. :goodvibes:

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
haha no that was really funny. And true. hmmmm:thinking: I think I'll be 25 tonight.
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I've been 25 for several years now, lol.
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
My mum always said "well, this year I'm turning 29 . . . Again."
Hee, just tell them to guess and add or subtract, whatever seems appropriate. "uh, gee, you look 25" "oh! How clever you are, I'm going to be 25 next month!" ;)
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Yeah, 29, that's the old joke. You turn 29, you stay 29 for, like, 10 years... I like your attitude, Luna. Chrissy Hynde said that she tells people she's older so people will think "damn, she must be doing something right!" But she's not a stripper.
I guess to some, "30" is still that magical marker of "over the hill." I had thought that attitude was passe, but I guess not.
Funny, because outside of the movies, the *real* juicy story in Hollywood is Ashton and Demi, Justin and Cameron, Madonna and Mrs Madonna.
Yeah, I think it's going to take me a little time to figure out exactly what they are seeing when they look at me, and work that. So far they want me younger, and they want me to be a bit sweet, which surprised me, because, well look what I'm doing and where I am.
Almost all men seem to look at me as sweet, not just the ones in the clubs. The exception being the few younger ones that like a seasoned women. I thought I was already well into MILF-dom but maybe not in the dark clubs yet.
Once again, those crazy men boggle my over-analyitical brain.

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I am 28 and when I tell my customers this their jaws drop to the floor because I don't look like it. It kinda works in my favor though because I work at a juice bar and the clientele is mostly 18-25 after 9 p.m. so I become the "sexy older woman." I also have kids, but that's none of their buisness so I usually keep it to myself.

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Deja Voodoo: watch out for that ivory tower mentality....
It DOES matter, and being a good stripper means lying to suit the appropriate fantasy...
I'm almost 27, and have been having some good times with young guys, like 21-23.....I tell them my real age, and let them know that ALL the best lovers I've ever had were trained by older women....
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Oh, I've been experimenting with lying about being EVEN younger..like 21. All they guys still say, "wow, I thought you were 19." Maybe they are giving a false compliment or the truth...whatever....its a good place to create a new persona, so that your life outside the club can be honest and genuine..
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I've been 24 going on six years now... ;)
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I tell customers I'm 30, (I'm actually 32) but everyone drops their jaws and says NO WAY! Usually how this conversation starts is, "I have a daughter/sister/friend your age... and blah blah" And I say "how old are they?" "oh, about 24-25" and then I just don't say anything, usually they will ask me and when I say 30, they look baffled..
I've got good genes... and I take care of myself. Although, when I was in my 20's I did not.
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I'm 23... even tho' I'm 25. I like 23 as it allows me to have some maturity about myself as when I really get talking... sometimes my true age is revealed due to being on a little bit of the mature side. I'll increase it to 24 when I turn 26 and when I'm 27.. it'll be 25 and then stay 25 for quite some time... that's the plan ;D
Along the same lines as having a false age (stripper age as I like to call it)... I also have a false real name. Does anyone else do this ??? I get around them saying that name by telling them that everyone in the club only knows me by my stage name hence they wouldn't have a clue who you are talking about unless you mention my stage name.
It is all part of my "stipper persona" for me.
-
Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
I have a fake real name. but i seem like an ami, a lot of girls get worried when i first start at a club because they think i am giving them my real name instead of my stage name. :) but some guys think they are that much 'closer' to you if they know your "real" name. whatever. deal with the fantasy, weirdo.
as for age... well i really am 22, and that seems to be a good age to be so thats what i shall be... untill next month when i shall be 23, then i may stay there for a year or two, we'll see.... ;)

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
People always think I'm older. When I first started dancing I was underage so that was good, but now I'm 22 and guys are guessing me at 27ish (and if they're guessing young they probably think I'm in my 30s??). But then other people guess 19 and can't beleive I'm any older. Go figure. For some of them I'll say I'm 24, for others I say I'm 22.
I have a fake real name. It's Lena, and I tell them it's short for Colleen. I have a fake real life too, where I live in a different town than the one I really live in, and I go to a different school than the one I really go to and major in Social Work instead of Psychology.
Does anyone ever accidentally let this into their real life? Like if I meet someone and they ask how old I am, I'll usually tell them what they expect/want to hear, completley forgetting that it's not the truth. Does anyone else do that?

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
Damn, you ladies are good liars. 8) I can't lie worth sh*t. I tried the "I'm 27" line on a guy yesterday, and then immediately told him I was lying. Then I told him I was 30 and he asked what year I was born. Oops.
I'd be a crappy spy.
I think I need to build a fictional history and work with it. One issue is that this is such a small town, and *everyone* goes to the clubs (though everyone doesn't go to every club) so if you are a visible person (and I am, do other performance stuff) there's only so far you can go with fiction...
I think I need to pretend I'm an actress, and build a character for myself. In part, I think this helps protect the "real" you. I see how flirty and seductive some of the girls act, and think, I'm so *not* that way... but the guys seem to eat it up, bless their hearts.
I like the idea of making up a fictional character. I didn't really understand the reason for stage names (it's not like they can get much just from the first name), but perhaps that is part of it.
This is the weirdest job. I don't mean that in a bad way, but honestly, it is weird. It's like playing Santa Claus.

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
IT's funny, i have been there too! When i was 21 and dancing i wanted to be 29. Now i am 41. And i tell. I did not for the longest time on the board, because i have a few customers here who would find out my "real" age. They wrote, and love it.
It feels FANTASTIC to be 41, no surgeries, and get hit on by ALL ages! I sure don't want to go back in time. 41 feels great!
I also found the majority of my private parties are for younger guys, who like experience. That i have gained much of over the years.
AND....Clubs still want me.
Hell yea...it does feel good.

Pamela.. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, You are a true inspiration, girl.. lol.. I'm 29, and HOPE that I age as well as you do. You have true natural beauty.
I tell people my real age, and they normally don't believe it. Most have guessed 24 or 25. It definitely feels good. LOL. I still get carded no matter where I go. It's funny though, I never got carded UNTIL I hit my 21st birthday? hmm.. lol
I have decided though, my birthday this year, I'm counting backwards. LOL. I know many people that are 29.9999999. Turning 30 isn't scary for me per se, but, I still don't want to.. hehe :slaphappy:

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
So Pamela, you tell your real age? And it's okay, then, because you are confident in who you are? Maybe I should be my real age too. :)
I have to say, it bugs me that the age discussion is such an issue with these guys. I mean, the way I was raised, it's not polite to ask a lady her age. I just figured that being a stripper, that means they can ask that stuff... I'm not a real "lady"?
Come to think of it, I get asked that question by guys in bars A LOT, not just the strip club... I personally don't ask a guy how old he is, not when we meet, not on the first date, maybe not at all. I'm no dummy. I can guestimate!
Like... okay, to ask a woman her age is fine, right... but a couple times I referred to someone, teasingly, as a "flirt" which I meant affectionately, and people acted like I was insulting that person. Sheesh.
Oh, okay, we're in a strip club but we're not supposed to flirt? Just discuss our ages and how many kids we have?
ugh.
Maybe I'll "get it" eventually, maybe not. I got to make up this fictional character and figure out how to get her in step with these modern times... or maybe I'll make my character some 1950's burlesque dancer and she won't tell her age at all. hm. Wonder where I can get some feathers and fans...

Re:newsflash: stripping makes you younger!
BTW... I sometimes think I'm "at that awkward age." Meaning I'm not younger, I'm not older... it's like this mid-30's age crisis. I notice most women, like Pamela, once they get into 40's don't have this "age" issue. They hit cruising speed, I guess. They grow into who they are more fully. I look forward to that day & hope I'm as beautiful as Pamela!

me too. i live in a town close to where i actually live since i dont know the area at all. I dont go to school in either life. ami isnt married, no boyfriend either, she lives here because her sister who went to school here needed a roomate. it goes on.... kinda reminds me of larp. make up a character. make up a background, improv.

sometimes I have to think about my name. and i useually say the wrong town when asked where i live.
when you tell yourself something long enough you will belive it. much easier to not feel like your lieing that way.
Katrin- you are an actress.. and i have trouble lieing too. but ami dosnt ;) its a character, play it out.
