Re:dancing after a child...
I worked until I was 4 1/2 months pregnant, and went back to work when my daughter was 3 months old. Remember that it will probably take some time to get back in shape. Best wishes to you and yours.
Re:dancing after a child...
It takes at LEAST 6-8 weeks to "recover" after having a baby. Most places will not allow you to work before you get a release from your doctor. I didn't go back to work for about 6 months...but, mainly because I didn't want to leave my daughter at all. :)
Remember, that after you have a baby, you will be exhuasted, so I will very much doubt you will want to work anytime soon. Besides that, a lot of women tend to bleed for a few weeks after having a baby (which is completely normal). And, then there is the belly...since it's been stretched, it will need some time to go back down to where it was before. I was back into my regular jeans about 8 days after I had my baby, but my belly was still kinda "fleshy" for a couple of months.
The only difficulty I had was leaving my baby (although she was with my SO, her daddy, it was still hard). Other than that, it wasn't hard.
Congrats on the baby!!!! Yay! Make sure you come back here and let us know when he/she is born!!
Hugs,
Venus
Re:dancing after a child...
i have had three children and danced after everyone of them. after each of them were born i did alot of mommy and me exercises, they really seemed to help not only with the weight but also with energy. venus was correct many places will not let you come back untill at least 6 weeks. try to give yourself enough time to heal and to enjoy your new baby. they are only new once!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congradulations and let us know how everything goes for you and your new bundle of joy.
Re:dancing after a child...
My baby is almost 8 months old and my body is still looking, well, bla. But I saved up money and took a ton of time off after his birth. The physical and hormonal changes in the first few months are draining. Try to stay active in little ways and give yourself time to lose the weight.
Spend your time and money wisely. You don't need to work 5 nights a week, just work 2 and be strict with your money and spend the rest of the time with the baby.
It's hard to take care of yourself when you are a new mother. I thought I had to do EVERYTHING. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Oh yeah...take tons of pictures because they grow up faster than you could ever believe.
Congradulations!!!

Dancing is the best way to get back in shape after a baby! But i would wait until the bleeding stops and you feel like yourself again. Also no fast or fancy moves right away. They say it can take 6 weeks for all to return to normal, even thow you may feel better in 3 weeks.
However, they do "baby exercise" a few weeks later with your newborn, lots of lifting etc.
Just listen to your body, it will tell you when to rest!
Good luck!

Re:dancing after a child...
Congrats on becoming a mommy Messi!
If this is your first child (which I'm assuming it is), I'd be more concerned for when you are emotionally ready to return to work moreso than just simply physically capable.
A new child in your life and being a mommy- it's going to be very difficult to leave such a fragile and precious thing in the care of someone else while you're off to work. It generally becomes a bit easier once the poop starts getting real stinky and you've had several months of the little rapscallion screaming at the top of it's lungs every night.
Re:dancing after a child...
hey congrats! I went back to dancing 5 months after birth, but its taken me appox a year and a half to look 'fabulous'! My work is secondary to my family and I work only two to three nights a week. Healthy eating and plenty of waking with the pram help relax you and get back that figure!
Dont rush into diets when breastfeeding as I did and lost my milk sadly at two months :'( Plus I find after being very skinny befor coming back with a few 'curves' (not rolls! lol) was good for buisness! There are a handful of new mums where I work and two have thier mummys stage names!!
Good luck xx Bella
