Help ...Can someone help me come up with a good stage name. I am drawing a blank, and I cant come up with anything. Is this something that I should be asking help for. I am so new at this, I am not sure what is ok and what is not.
My stage name is Makayla... I chose it because I love it, but many customers find it hard to believe that's my real name (which is actually mandy). It is easiest to chose a "real, everyday" name. but something pretty.
I hope your dancing goes well! :)
Thank you for your help. My real name is Michelle and last weekend I had to quick pick so I could be added to the schedule - so I said Mischa...but I am not too sure if I really like that.
What is your style like? Also what do you look like? What names have you always liked or who do you admire? Trying to help brainstorm :)
I've decided after choosing my name (which i wouldn't change even though) that it helps to choose a name that is believable for your generation... I don't know any makayla's from my generation. But it depends on your goal... if you want to be really different pick something really cool. But be prepared to have guys say "ya... what's your real name???"
I tend toward the leather, black, red, rich colors and love the alternative rock music (but not classic rock)...
Makayla sounds mysterious and eccentric to me... that's me :) particularly in my play life (online photos and dancing)
Lets see...a description of me ... I am 5'5 weight is 112 so fairly tiny. Shorter hair to my chin flipped out in the back where its a little shorter... but near face shorter side bangs.. my hair is streaked with majority of blond with red. and a little bit of my original brown ... (with hair an example was the girl on american idol I think her name was katie weber. I have an athletic build since I work out all the time. Fairly tan (fake bake..but not too much)
Style...a lot of my clothes are from Express. I like sexy but trendy.
Music I love club/pop/rock...pretty much everything.
Look at this website--www.babynameworld.com. Look under unique names. I would choose a "stripper" name as opposed to a "regular" name because everyone will still ask what your real name is anyway! :P By the way, thanks for the post on Bright Hair!
Very true exotica... I guess sometimes I assume guys ask me because my name is rather different...
I like the names Blaze, Pixie (there is a girl that frequents this board with this name), and Trinity.
No prob... thanks for siteQuote:

I like names that are easy to remember and easy to pronounce in a loud bar. I have kinda a theme name with Daisy. I get a lot of flowers, have a flower tattoo, and there is a daisy on my business card.
There are lots of other posts about names you should check out. They helped me come up with mine
Embrace your name and build your character around it. I am like a different person when I am at work and people are calling me Daisy. All the sudden I become beautiful, outgoing, and sometimes sweet and innocent.
Oh yeah, pick a second name to use as your "real name". I use my middle name and a totally generic last name for when the men ask me. It makes them feel special if you tell them your "real" name.
Daisy, that is a really good idea. I didnt think of that. Do you know of any really good/ exotic names... more on the exotic side??
I really like Lotus--that sounds exotic. Actually, I love that name. There was a girl at my old club that danced by that name--she was wild! Super short hair, tattoos, piercings. I really liked her style.
that is a good name too!
My favorite is Portia. It sounds like the car but it's actually the name of a strong and smart character from "The Merchant of Venice" by Shakespeare. If I were a stripper, I think I would use that name. It sounds hot and exotic.
If you don't feel the need to have a stripper name I would go by your real name. I get laughed at every day when I tell people my stripper name and it doesn't even sound like a "Trixie" "Pixie" or "Lotus" kind of obvious fake name! I used my dance name long before I was a dancer and still people see right through me and I end up telling them my real name anyway. My managers and friends at the club know my real name - they see me on the floor after they've had a few drinks and they address me by my real name in front of my customers (many times when I haven't told them my real name yet). So everyone gets confused and all my managers, front door hosts, cocktail servers and customers must learn both of everyone's names. I wish I'd never chosen a stripper name, even though it sounds real!
My point is, unless you really really need to protect your identity (in which case you wouldn't be getting naked in a public place in your own town) stick with the name you are comfortable with - your real name (just never mention your last name, of course, or else come up with a fake last name that matches your ethnicity). Otherwise, come up with a really obvious dance name, then have a back-up real sounding name (like Jennifer or Michelle) to have as the name you give to your special regular customers to make them feel like they know you better than anyone else. Just make sure everyone you work with knows you by your fake-real-name so they don't slip up and call you by your real-real-name.
SILLINESS, eh?!!!!
Its really funny at my club because almost NO ONE knows anyones REAL names!
Well in Vegas where I used to work no one knows anyone's real names whatsoever....just such a high volume and turnaround of dancers. But in Houston where I work now it's much more personable and fewer dancers work at a given time, especially compared to Vegas. I would compare the number of girls working during Super Bowl to any average night in Vegas. MANY of the girls where I work now have worked at the same club since the day they opened (7 years ago) so everyone knows everyone's real names.
Quite true in some places here in Vegas. We often are in the different clubs chatting with management and when we have students in that club, we'll often track them down and say hi. One time recently I was in a club recently and asked to speak to "Julie" (name changed to protect the innocent) and was pointed to a girl who's stage name was Julie, not her real name. Then it hit me that nobody there knew the other girls' real names. Was kind of funny because I couldn't remember her stage name and had to track her down by looking through the club. :)Quote:

Lotus sounds good to me. Go on some baby name sights and look around. Everyone has different tastes.
If my son's name weren't Dallas I would have used that. I can't think of anything super exotic off of the top of my head, especially without looking at you.
I also like Honey. Crystal seems to be one that is used a lot. You could try looking on a detailed map of the united states, modeling yourself after a celebrity, or copying a brand name product out of the super market. Keep thinking and you'll come up with one.
Names with two Ls always sound sexy when they are rolling off the tongue. Like Lili, Lola, you get the point. I always liked Lucy and Sheela. Think of names you would give a lap dog--muffin, kinky, angel...
Or you could go with just a letter...like V or something. Good names come from all over the place. You should probably try and focus more on your fitness level and developing your sexy personality and a name will eventually come to you.
I always liked Blanch off of golden girls. Or Veronica, Veronique, Victoria. Or pick one of Donuld Trumps x-wives, they all have great names.
Please let us know what you decide!!
Oh yeah, an all time fav after reading "Bare" by Elizabeth Something. Lelia. (pronounced Lela)
I think it's best that as few people as necessary know your real name. That way there is less chance of someone letting your real name slip out.
Amelia is exotic and feminine...sounds pretty to me.
LeAnna (not LEE anna, but LAY ONNA) but then you will get the "I wanna LAY ON A bed with you" or something cheesy like that
Lana...(LON-UH)
Hope this helps
