What Other Jobs Have You Done???
Hiya all!
I was wondering what jobs you girls had before the "world of exotic dancing" or for those of you considering becoming a dancer or haven't started ( like me self ) , what jobs have you done too?
Did any of you leave school/college and become a stripper straight away?
Also out of all the jobs you have done which one do you prefer and which pays the best?
This questions also applies to the guys here....

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I have worked for a lot of restaurants and fast food places. Wendy's was small and well run, but mine was busy as hell.
My favorite all time job was at Sonic drive in -- don't know if you have them where you are they are only in the midwest, but Paris Hilton worked at one on "the simple life". It was so much fun and the best money I could make in my teenage days...like 15.00 an hour with the tips that don't get reported. I have awesome memories!!

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I have worked McDonald's and different secretary jobs but I'm currently at a cushy secretary job while I'm on a break from stripping.

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I was a hot dog girl at 16...Lol Worked for a zoo from 17 until 20 (i think) started working for the hospital when it was tiny, started dancing at 21 too. Both same time frame pretty much.
Phone sex at a very early age. lol Was independent. Went to a large co. after the BS of being independent PSO, work for years for a large phone sex co.
Gee worked a pet store with a friend for a couple years in there someplace. And was a secretary for a HUge supply co. (hated it)
Anyway i have been working since i was 16 years old, and school, various jobs that came and went. Thats all i can think of, most have been hospital, dancing, phone and posed nude for a pool mag. cover here in Fl a few times for pay. And a few other mags. that i am not proud of...

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I've been a waitress, bartender, day care provider, religious teacher, housekeeper and worked in a factory using power tools to assemble and attach the doors to UPS trucks. Most of that was in college (paid my dorm fees and kept me reasonably fed). After I graduated, I went to work as a bookkeeper for a public accounting firm (*shudder*). Eventually promoted to house accountant.
I liked being a bartender. Everyone adores the person giving them their booze and it was fun to pit your wits and skills against the inebriated buffoon trying to think up some drink you couldn't make.
I liked being a housekeeper. Solitary, rewarding work in which I never had to interact with people and it paid surprisingly well, especially when my employers discovered that I was also a great cook. The affluent are so tickled to find a good domestic that they'll practically throw money at you just to keep you around.
I loved doing religious instruction, but the pay sucked.
I loathed accounting with the fiery hatred of a thousand suns.

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I've done all the foodservice stuff... plus I have worked parking cars for concerts (fun, almost got run over more then once), I have been a picture framer, a silk screener (I put pictures and things on t-shirts), a nanny, a secritary (included computer repair and networking), I picked pumpkins one fall when I was a kid, I went to collage for graphic design have done a little freelance, for a short while I worked collecitions for discovercard (only job that ever came close to what i make as a dancer), thats about it.

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
Whew.. ok.. here goes.. lol
I started off as a volunteer at a nursing home, visiting patients who had no one. Very good job, no pay, but the smiles on their faces were worth it. When I was old enough, I got a paying job at the same nursing home a a housekeeper. It was to me, better than the visiting, because unfortunately, you get attached to the patients, and then they pass on.
I've worked at McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, D'Angelos, Bess Eaton, and Dunkin' Donuts (Drunken Donuts as I call it.. heh).
I've also worked at Verizon Wireless, Rent-A-Center, and too many waitressing jobs at non-strips to list.. lol
Started working at 14. Ugh.. lol

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
man, i have been a waitress at a few food places, an assistant to a financial advisor, public relations for the parks and recreation dept of the City i live in, a personal assistant for an insanely rich guy, worked for the hospital in the continuing education department for doctors, and for my uncle's law firm.
i liked doing the work for the financial advisor, until he insisted i clean and scrub the bathrooms...while i wore hose and skirts!
working for my uncle was good. it was real estate, so not very exciting, but he was ancient so he let me do whatever i wanted. i made some great lawyer friends in his firm.

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
Let's see...first I had a paper route, if that even counts, lol. Then I worked at Six Flags, a grocery store, the campus dining hall in college,(where I was called the lunch lady by the obnoxious frat boys :( ), the on-campus convenice store, Taco Bell, and Spencer's gifts in the mall, and as a health tech last summer. I think that is about it. I shudder at the thought of going back to any of those!! (except the last one, I guess)

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I've had a lot of different jobs. I babysat, worked at Burger King, worked at restaurants as a hostess and as a waitress (I was a terrible waitress-I would always screw up people's orders or take too long and I was a total klutz-always dropping or spilling things), worked as a telemarketer (hated that job-lasted 3 weeks), worked as a cashier and a salesclerk in department stores, worked in a video rental store(hated that job also-busted my ass for $7.00 an hour and they gave us NO BREAKS-not even 15 minutes or half an hour for lunch. We could bring food along but we had to eat it at the counter. If a customer came along, we had to stop eating and help them.), and worked as an office assistant.
Dancing does have its advantages. On most days, you can make more than you can at a "normal" job. You can take breaks whenever you want, unless your manager is an asshole. You get to wear sexy clothes at work. If a customer is being rude, you can be rude right back or simply walk away-try doing that at any "normal" job! And, every day is payday! ;D

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
Phone sex, silkscreener, sales rep and producer for silkscreening biz (my own at 16... bought the 4 colour press and peddled to local punk bands), graphic artist, librarian, fashion model-art model-not so artistic but nekkid model, network admin, data prepper cum bug fixer, proof reader, band and music promoter, DJ, executive assistant to the CEO of *major ISP dealing with adult content* (ie, online pr0n), trade show organizer, the odd vintage and antique sideline, blah blah blah... I think I'm forgetting stuff. I started working at 14 and have been more or less on my own since 16... and yes I graduated and paid my own damn way through college.
I went to college for music (vocal... with an exphasis on early liturgical music... don't laugh)

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
My list is fairly borring.
-Paper route when i was in fifth grade(10 years old, i think)HATED IT
-worked in distribution center for major headware retailer (15-17) where i held the title of "smarter than everyone in the corporate offices, combined." ask around, its true. HATED IT
-random tasks for construction company(15 - 22), anything from on site work, to estimating, to compiling customer databases, to making fun little brochures. HATED IT
- Video Store clerk (17 -18). low pay, but kinda fun. enjoyed my co-workers. hated the customers.
-worked for restaurant thing next to video store for one whole week.
-gopher boy for tennis tournament. (age 18) had its ups and downs. pay was terrible, long hours. but i got to do nothing for a lot of it. i still have toothbruses left over from it(mentadent was a sponser, when the tourny was over they left multiple palletts of toothbrushes behind. i grabbed like 4 boxes(72 in each), as well as 100s of litres of appolinaris mineral water. I didn't like the job at the time, but im glad i did it.
-mail room clerk at my school (19). ok job.
- worked for financial services office for my school doing random busywork(19) HATED IT!
-bank teller/CSR (19 - 21) like money, hated the busy work, hated the customers. which made me a great at serving the customers....heres why. rather than just hating them and treating them like shit, i thought of them as the enemy. this meant, that i needed to eliminate them...so i'd process their transactions as quick as possible. i was a machine. so people would be in and out really quick with me, not because i enjoyed serving them, but because i wanted to get rid of them...but they had no idea (except the handful i'd yell at...but strangely, those were the ones that liked me the most.)
- barback/bartender (22 -23) ups and downs. dont mind bartending, dont want to do it at the establishment i was at.
oh yah, waiter at chilis for like a week(age 22).
think thats it.

Re:What Other Jobs Have You Done???
I worked for my family's business from 13-16 off and on. Sometimes I got paid and sometimes I didn't. The times I didn't get paid was when I had gotten in trouble. lol I hated it. :-\
Then at 15-16 I worked for a video rental place. I hated the owners because they were super shady people but I loved my co-workers. We were always playing around and rarely working. Good times. :P
16 I worked at a tanning salon/juice bar/nail salon. I loved that job! I liked working with all the fun people that came in and I liked the benifits of the job (free tanning, free smoothies, and welcome to do my nails when it was slow) Great job but the owners were pretty snobby.
17 I worked at an auto repair shop. Believe it or not I loved that too. I was the secretary/accountant. I even ran parts and helped out. I also helped him do his house work in his huge ass house and baby sat his kids on the weekends. It was a really small town and I enjoyed working with the community. He paid me very very well. I still go back to visit when I can.
17 I also was a hostess at AppleBee's. I enjoyed that job but it was boring at times.
18 started dancing and I love it :boobies: made the best money in my fisrt club.
19 I was a promotional consultant for Estee Lauder. I put make up on people and sold stuff. It was o.k.
20-I'm still dancing and I do volunteer work
