Help Me Girls!!
Ok... I have my mind made up... I'm gonna give dancing a try... if it works awesome and if it doesn't oh well... My main reasons are for $$$$$!!! Money will make me independent & I can go to college... I can't afford school, I have bad credit so student loans aren't an option. My parents can't afford it, and there suggestion was to ask my grandfather (who could definetely afford to send me & 10 of my friends to school w/out worry) but when I did ask I was told by him that he doesn't think I'm college material. He told me I should go to beauty school (not really something I'm interested in though!)...
So I'm 21, and I really just want to be on my own!!! When I get my college diploma I want to thank myself! Well thats my schpeel (hehe).....
My problem is though, what do I tell my parents, I live at home and my parents are strict!! Once I'm literally on my own I can do whatever I want of course. But I'm under there roof blah blah blah! I brought up me being a stripper casually in a conversation w/my mom, and she lectured me on feminism & crap. Soooo... telling my mom and dad about stripping is not an option till I'm out of my house! I am the world's worst liar! Seriously... What should I tell them?!?!?!?!
Ok and another little question if you girls have time and feel like it... when you hear these names, what kind of girl do you picture... (just curious)
Savannah
Taylor
Jenna
Natalie
Sky

Re:Help Me Girls!!
what about working under the guise of waitressing at a nite club? would th.y go for that? then you'd be out the same hours and they wouldnt know the difference. although it might be difficult smuggling 7" heels out the door with you LOL. I'm a bad liar too, except when I truly believe that what the person is asking is none of their business, then I can tell them whatever they want to hear to get them to leave me alone.
and those names generate a sun kissed golden blonde with a teeny waist and huge boobs, at least to me, because of others in my area with similar names.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
I totally understand where you're coming from when you talk about getting your college degree and thanking "Yourself"! I too have bad credit and although I've managed to get some student loans- it's gonna cost ALOT by the time I graduate. So I'm looking into dancing as well. I like the idea of saying you're a waitress at a night club- that should work.
As for the names- I think Savannah, Jenna, and Sky totally sound like what Chai explained, but to me Natalie and Taylor sound like a medium to dark brown haired, brown eyed girl- medium to fair skin, petite build- w/ really nice eyes!
Good luck w/ whatever you choose! :)

Re:Help Me Girls!!
I'd say I am a waitress and keep my stripper gear in my locker at work. The only thing that would suck is bring your stuff home to wash it. I am a horrible lier as well. Good luck with everything.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
Please give yourself a reality check in terms of the money dancing. You will most likely not get $1000 a night every night. Some nights you will make $1000 and some nights you will make $8, and hell there could be some nights that you make -$50. The key is to actively save your money and spend it on the things that you need. I've had friends who have been dancing for years...and have blown every single cent they made. Nothing saved...which really sucks...because if they would have invested that money or saved it, they would be so much better off.
Now...about your credit. WHY do you have bad credit? Too much debt or do have NO credit? There's a big difference between the two...but, either way...you should put some of that money towards paying off any debt you have so when you go to school, you won't have to worry about them. After getting those things paid off, then really work on saving and investing your money. Don't just spend it as it comes in. You may want to consider hiring a financial planner to help you decide the best ways to invest your money...or study up on Suze Orman's books...I like them.
The question about names is this: What comes out of your mouth easily? You might like the name Savannah, but if you don't "feel" like a Savannah, then it won't work. Find a name that fits you...and that you feel comfy saying out loud.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
Waitressing is a good cover. When I got my first job dancing I told my dad I was a coat-check girl at a club in the city. You could also say you are cocktailing or go-go dancing, although the go-go thing is a little suspicious. I personally wouldn't use the waitress lie because my parents are the type to call and visit me at work. Now I just tell them the truth, and when they give me shit for it I ask if they'd like to pay my bills for me.
Response to the names...
Savannah: hippie with flowing hair
Taylor: brunette model-type (tall & skinny)
Jenna: always reminds me of Jenna Jameson
Natalie: Short with curly dark hair
Sky: tall & blonde
Of course don't make any decisions based on this...the coolest thing is when a girl breaks the mold...besides I don't know why that's how I associate those names, I just do.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
You are so right about saving and investing! That's one thing I need to discipline myself on when I start dancing- I can be careless w/ money sometimes. But I'm going to try real hard to just SAVE SAVE SAVE!

Re:Help Me Girls!!
If your parents are the type to call and check up on you, go ahead and tell them where you work, but tell them you're a hostess. That would explain the stage name (for your safety, of course) and the risque costumes. Also, if something ever did happen to you, at least your parents would know where you really were.
P.S. When coming up with your name, please don't use your daughter's names. They are cute names, but strikes me in very bad taste. There's a girl at my club who dances using her daughter's name and it just rubs me wrong whenewver I hear it. But, that's just my opinion.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
Maybe find a friend and move out! After a couple nights if dancing and your friend chipping in... You should have enough to start out.
You are 21, time to get out of the house anyway.
I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE being told that i wasn't college material!!! Don't listen to him, i think hes probally finding a way out. Besides from your tryping you are probally at least smarter then 30% of the people at my college
Heck some people cant even use computers!
Get out on your own and try the stripper thing if thats what you want to do.. BUT DONT LET ANYTHING get in the way of your education.

Re:Help Me Girls!!
I used to tell my parents that I was a bartender in a gay bar. First off, my extremely homosexual twin brother would back me up and second, because my obviously conservative parents would know that I was working, but NEVER EVER would they have the cohones to come in there!
