Wow... Absolutely remarkable story, Doc. Thanks for sharing that. I gotta give that lady credit. But Damn, the hospital was an 8-hour drive away from her?
It would take a little more than 3 shots of hard liquor to get me to do that.. LOL.. That woman's totally brave.
Yes I just read that. Isnt it amazzzzzzzzing??? WOW!
Though had this woman done this herself, and the baby god forbid have died, I bet they would have slapped with some kind of murder charge. Odd how things work out huh?
Rhia, I agree, Id have needed a whole bottle, I'm sure. lol
OOOUUuuttccchhHH :o
:rotfl: good answer! I would never mess with my mom if I knew she was that hardcore. lolQuote:

i am surprised she didn't die form loss of blood. this is amazing but when you are in labor you have unbelivable hormones running through your body
A mom will do anything for her children!! One hundred years ago this was happening in America on a regular basis. Crazy isn't it.
wow, I could never do that... of course I am the one who wants a home childbirth with no assistence......
that is really amazing... she has a lot of courage... don't know if i could do the same ... ouch...
xoxo
heidi
I would sooooo much rather not have birth in a hospital, that would just freak me out and make labor harder and longer...

Dear God! Why did I read that?! I'm 7 months prego & the reality of birth is finally kicking in!
LOL I'm still totally cringing from this story. My last 2 children were C-Sections, and I could never imagine giving myself one.. That woman is definitely brave and obviously has a high threshold for pain. Whew.. lol. And then just to be sewn up with a needle and thread? Yikes..
Oh well, I'm sure if I had been faced with losing either one of my girls, I'd probably have forced myself to do the same thing (then I would have promptly passed out, of course).
But still, I'm creeped out by it.. lol
So true Lexi. I'm glad things turned out the way they did (nothing that I ever do!) but there was the possibility of so much going wrong. I think that really calls for the name "Miracle".Quote:

A paper cut freaks me out so I cannot even fathom having to cut through skin, fat, several layers of muscle...unreal.

Wow, that was really brave of her. I don't have a high tolerance for pain, so I don't think I could ever do that. She must've been in so much pain.
