Try NYU's dental clinic:
http://www.nyu.edu/dental/patientinfo/clinic_info.html
It isn't pro-bono, though - just reduced cost. I don't know of anyone who offers free dental work.
go to www.dentalplans.com and depending on your zip code, you can probably get a plan for about $99/year and the costs are all reduced for the kind of work you need. but.....you have to wait at least 6 months before doing MAJOR work. cavities you can get fixed pronto I think w/ this plan. ;D
hey sweetie..
UNFORTUNATELY cosmetic dental work is VERY RARELY IF EVER covered by any dental insurance plan :(
I just had to cough up 10k for some work.. BUT LET ME TELL YOU!
It was worth it.
Okay.. just out of curiosity.. Tampa, what did you have done? That seems very expensive...
If dental insurance is like most insurance, they don't cover "pre-existing" conditions. Thus you'll probably still have to pay outof pocket.
florida.. porcelin veneers
not to mention 1,500 worth of gum surgery
id see if a dentist would offer a payment plan of some sort?
sometimes they do have financial help (at least for bridge work and orthondonic things)
or you could use a (a big no no but..) credit card
aside from any cosmetic stuff.. its important your mouth be healthy .. no cavities ect.. or you will pay later.. your gum health really affects your overall health (according to my mommy and her many readings on health)
it would be an investment/debt worth it in the long run
as for the pretty stuff.. that might be frivilous to put on a CC but id do what you can to get your teeth at least healthy no matter what it takes.. you owe it to yourself
pariah is right.. fix everything that isn't cosmetic with a credit card or try and get dental insurance for a low rate...
you teeth being healthy is most important..
Your smile in the avatar looks pretty good anyway!
I bought a plan of dentalplans.com and it does cover pre-existing conditions, but I ended up not using it because my dentist isn't on there.
In the past few months, I've financed over $15,000 worth of dental work with CareCredit, which lets you finance 12 months with no interest. My dentist set it up.
I have the same issue I just want to get my teeth whiten and my bottom teeth are cricket so does that matter at all my top are all nice and straight as you can see but I would liek the whiter?
Honey
you can whiten then with stuff at your drug store for not that much money. If you really hate your lower teeth, you can get that fixed, but it's very expensive. I would only do veneers if you're dancing.
DL, why not just work, and then you'll have the money?
Lena
Honey, that was the cutest thing ever... LOL You said cricket. ;) I think you meant Crooked heheheQuote:

DigitalLove since you live in NJ as do I, you should check out Rober Wood Johnson University Hospital Dental school (RWJUMDNJ). It is in New Brunswick. The better dental school is in Newark though. I get dental insurance through school and my regular job. You can try www.dentalplans.com. You can put in you zipcode and get good dental plans that go into effect the next day at times.
emily, YOU got yours financed!!!
I wish my office had a plan like that!
i have aetna, and they have a plan with my dental office to where i get veneers at a discounted rate..
Yeah, I wouldn't have done it if I couldn't finance it, but there are always ways of finding money.Quote:

Worth it though....they are paying for themselves at work.
