Anybody in NY/NJ in the market for a kitty?
A kitty as in a real cat.
Here's the deal: I AM DESPERATE!!! Two months ago I found a cat abandoned on the street. I put up notices to locate her owner to no avail, so I decided to take care of her until I could find her a permanent owner. I had her spayed, had her shots/vaccinations administered, and plastered the neighborhood with 'Cat for Adoption' posters.
The dude who said he was going to take her has backed out at the eleventh hour. I am leaving for Hong Kong this Friday. I can board her until the 23rd, but I am moving to San Francisco on May 1st and the place I'm staying does not allow me to keep cats.
Would anyone, anyone, be interested in adopting a cat, or perhaps fostering her just for the summer until I land on my feet in California and find a living situation that accepts cats? I will provide delivery of food, litter, etc. on a monthly basis. Hell, I'll even throw in some $$$ to sweeten the pot a bit.
Bella (cat's name) is a doll. I'm going to scan a pic of her and post it later, but she is approximately 4-5 years old, weights 8.5 pounds, and is a brown/grey spotted and striped tabby cat. She has green eyes and a pink nose. She is unbelievably cute, affectionate, and well-behaved. She would do well with someone who is around enough to devote some attention to her - she is not the stereotypical independent or aloof cat. This is a cat that wants to cuddle and be close to her caretaker.
I'm at my wit's end - putting her in a shelter or back out on the street is NOT an option. :-[So is there anybody out there at all, anyone, who could make some room for a sweet kitty, please please please? PM me if you are amenable. Thanks!!!

Awwww, what an adorable kitty kitty! I really wish I could take the little baby for you, because I take EVERYTHING in. LOL
Unfortunately, I think my lil babygirl has an allergy. I've noticed reactions whenever I bring an animal inside the house. So, now I have to treat them outside in my hall.
I wish you luck in finding that adorable girl a new home, or temporary one at least.

Re:Anybody in NY/NJ in the market for a kitty?
lol....I already PMed Adina about the cat. Don't worry guys, if she doesn't find a more suitable home, my sister will take Bella. :)
Re:Anybody in NY/NJ in the market for a kitty?
I'm glad that other people on here are willing to help out. I was going to offer, but only if there were no other alternatives. I wouldn't need any money for food or other expenses. However, the cat would have had to be flown out here to Phoenix. Which isn't that pricey, but can be hard on the cat. I hope that everything works out for Bella.

Thanks to all of you for your PMs and supportive comments. I've got some promising leads and will let you know how it works out.
Re:Anybody in NY/NJ in the market for a kitty?
God Damn.. sometimes I hate living where I do.
I am a total cat person (I like dogs too, but if I had to chose only one, it would be a cat) and live in New Jersey. I had two cats that I had to give up when my marriage ended and I had to find an apartment. I loved them, dammit LOL. They were my buddies (and my ex hated them for it LOL).
Now I live in a pretty big apartment that I really lucked out in getting. The only problem was the previous tennets had a cat that destroyed the carpeting, so my landlord put all new wall to wall carpeting, and made it a No Pets place. That was fine for a while, but I want my two buddies back (or two new ones).
Cats... I love em (insert your favorite "pussy" entendre here.. you know you want to).
