Re:feminists VS strippers (and other adult entertainers)
hey Kid. Um, I might be wrong here, but I don't either of those two ladies were directing their comments in opposition to you. Ya know what annoys me? Same thing as you, "My problem with such folks starts when they want to IMPOSE their views on the rest of us," which happens to be what you seem to be doing (in my opinion anyway). What do you want us to say? "Capitalism kicks ass man! And those damn African and Women's Studies majors are a thorn in my side!"--Please! They happen to be very valuable when going into fields of public relations, education, history, etc. I have MANY friends who are women's studies majors and intend to do things other than, as you so delicately put it, "impose their views on others." You posted once....we got it, you don't like them....good for you. Stop reposting your same arguments and refuting other posts that have NOTHING to do with yours. It seems like you've got a bone to pick....go pick it some place else please.
Re:feminists VS strippers (and other adult entertainers)
SCGirl- Pardon me Madame but what is YOUR problem?
I am not imposing my views on anyone.BTW-exactly how is my expression of my opinion an imposition on
you or anyone else? I have no way of forcing or enforcing my views and opinions on others.
Factually, Capitalism does "kick ass", as you put it,
and most of the posters and readers of this site
know that all too well. Just how do you think those
"big spenders" and "sugar daddies" that make the
skin biz world go round GOT the money to lavish
on strippers? Why do you think strippers in capitalist
free market countries make so much and KEEP so much
more $ than in socialist countries?
My basic philosophy towards life in general and Education in particular is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion BUT there are one set of facts for
EVERYBODY. My critique of most "Feminist Studies" &
"Black Studies" programs is based on the demonstrable
FACT that many have blurred the lines between TRUTH &
FICTION; FACT & OPINION and worst of all PEDAGOGY
& ADVOCACY. These specialized programs are part of
the disturbing trend in American Education towards
"feel good" teaching that ignores unpleasant truths if
it is felt that they might somehow hurt someone's feelings. Some of the worst of what's out there in both
of these so called "disciplines" actually teach hatred of men and hatred of whites. For those who just gasped in
disbelief at that last sentence- if you actually read
some of the materials used in some of these courses
I doubt very much that you would disagree.
I admittedly challenged A.n.a.l.a. to come up with a
better economic system or socio-economic model
than "free- market capitalism". So far neither she nor anyone else has bothered doing so.
Likewise- I have asked legitimate questions about
gender and ethnic studies programs that I think are
mostly designed to provide work for Black & female
college professors who lack academic credentials in
any other recognized academic field. BTW- I am not
alone in looking askance at a PhD. in one of these fields
as opposed to one in History; Economics or even
Paleolithic Art History.
