First off, are you able to cash them in $20 at a time while you are working?
Next, do you spend your ones before any other bills. I will use $25 ones at the gas station, $40 worth at Super Wal-Mart. I will pay for everything with all ones first before using larger bills.
Next, when I make a deposit in the bank to cover checks I go inside and use up the ones first.
I don't let them build up. I cash in as many as the club will take and then spend the rest before breaking larger bills.
I get a perverse thrill out of handing the teller a fat wad of ones and watching her run them through the bill counter. ;D I want a machine like that! I'm even more gleeful after her count exactly matches what I've written on my deposit slip ;)
hehehe me too. I love it when they say "are you a waitress?" and I deadpan, "no."Quote:

I was a waitress for 2 years. I used to wrap my 1's up in bundles of 25 with a rubber band... I even made all the bills face the same way. The tellers appreciated it because that was how they sorted their 1's... of course, you don't have to be that anal. :)
I used to get the opposite reaction! More than once, I went to my bank with a stack of ones and the teller would look me up and down, sneer and say, "Well, SOMEONE had a busy night!" The funny thing was, there was no club even close to the town I lived in. I guess I've always been a stripper at heart and it shows. ;)Quote:

When I worked at a small club in Vegas where we got a lot of ones a girl at one store said, "You're either a waitress or stripper with all those ones."
Thats the only town I've been in where people are open about strippers.
I agree with Tina. I pay for most everything with singles, that way you can aways pay exact.
Also, I like to dine out and always leave a generous tip because I know how it is to work for tips. I usually come up with a way to uniquely display the waitress/waiter's tip on the table.
The only people that use banks are people that are honest with the IRS!
or those who like to pay their bills online!
God I love when the girls tip me in ones and I have to go to the store to buy groceries.....I get all sorts of dirty looks for paying in ones, I love it!
I especially enjoy paying for car servicing or computer equipment in ones because its always some mouth agape guy behind the counter......
I try to cash them in at the bar. If not, I just wrap them in 50$ holders and cash them in later.
I had a teller do that to me a couple of times...She gave me an attitude, and I just leaned against the counter, smiled, and said, "And, with THAT attitude, someone's going to be looking for a new job." heeheeQuote:

I paid for my house payment this month all in ONES. The guy asked me "What do you do?" me: "Why does it matter?" Him: "how'd you get so many?" me: "Are you going to post my payment or what?, oh yeah, I am a stripper" him: "Okay... here' s your receipt". :o I had them all bundled nicely in groups of 25 with George facing the same way and they were all straightened out.
I also love how some of my ones end up with lipstick all over them.... always nice for the tellers to see that and do the "once over" look on me... I just smile really big and make sure that I am as nice and sweet as ever. ::)
I try not to let them build up but its hard, some nights I am so tired I just want to go home and forget about trading my bills for larger ones. Although this week, I have made sure that I have traded up. God forbid I walk into a bank with money and its not the right bill to pay my house payment! ;)
Tori, please tell me you don't make little swans out of your ones. I hate that! ;)
Sometimes I just get too tired to cash them all in at the end of the night, so I try to spend them all when I am out shopping or doing errands, but it just does not always work out that way. Thanks for all your answers everyone!
I use them to pay my house fees and tipouts, and beyond that, I either cash them in or use them for gas and such like Tina said.
If the club lets me, I usually try to trade in my ones for bigger bills. If I'm too busy to cash in my singles for bigger bills or if the club won't take them, then I hold on to them. I try to get rid of as many as I can by spending them on groceries, stuff at Wal-Mart, etc. Sometimes the cashiers will give me dirty looks, but who cares? I always have them counted and straightened out beforehand so that I don't waste time counting all those ones in the checkout lane, so why should they care? To make it easier on them, I never use more than $30 in ones. If I spend $50 at Wal-Mart, I'll give the cashier a $20 bill and 30 $1 bills.
If I have a ton of ones, I deposit them in my checking account. My bank has a machine that counts one dollar bills and it really doesn't take long. I've never gotten any comments from the tellers asking what I do for a living, but I'm sure they know since once I brought in $600 worth of one dollar bills. ;)
one time i stuffed about 300 ones into the atm, i didnt know if it would take it but, i tried and actually got it! :D
but when i have worked more recently i dont get a lot of ones. guys pay for thier dances with 20's and when i was in fl they always tipped with 5's. i rarely had ones... but when i did i just put them in my wallet and bought stuff... one day i had about 50 of them and i went out running errends in the very very cold. i didnt want to take off my gloves at every building (and even if i had my hands were frozen and couldnt really move anyway) so i just pulled out a stack of ones and said "there should be enough in there" and they counted them out. it was quite amuseing.....
I have always worked for tips. I used to take 500 a week to the bank in ones. Neatly in 25 stacks, faced and paperclipped. Its a pain for them to count them by hand
After having a baby I have better things to do so I spend them. When people ask I respond with something rude like "I'm a prosititute" or "I suck dick for a living" , but I always smile when I say this.
Screw those $1s. I love having 100s and 20s. God it feels sooooo good.
I cash mine in at the bar at the end of my shift or the end of the week. I used to deposit them but I try to avoid it because the tellers seem to get an attitude, isn't your job to count money?
Has anyone tried to deposit ones at the drive in teller? I've been told that I need to bring big stacks inside. Don't quite understand that one.
I think that they want to have you bring the big stacks inside to make sure that the deposit isn't so heavy that it gets stuck inside of the machine. That's why if you want change (quarters, etc) you need to go inside for them.Quote:

You're probably right Venusgoddess, change makes sense but I still don't get the bill thing, I wish I had enough $1's to weigh down the tube thing!
