Can DJ's play .mp3's?
I'm making some CD's for myself to travel with and I'm wondering if many DJ's have the ability to play music directly from the .mp3 format in a club. You can fit a lot more songs on a CD if you use mp3. Can you do it DJ's? Is it a pain or a hassle? Are there licensing problems with playing burned mp3's?

I can't speak for the other dj's here, but I have a computer in the booth patched in to the sound system. Playing an mp3 is no problem. Most of the other DJ's I've dealt with have access to making an audio cd if the club isn't set up. Personally I'd carry the mp3's.

Computers and CD players at our DJs' booth. But the mp3's sometimes skip and stuff when they play them. Darn. I wish our DJ's burned my songs to the computer, because all of my music is mp3's.
