gym motivation
:POK going to the gym must be hard for alot of girls....but what my Q is............What keeps you girls' motivation to get up go to the gym? I'm the kinda person who has alomost no energy. I try to make working out enjoyable but all i need to loose is about 15-20lbs. Some abs and a nice ass are nice but hopefully those will come along too. I know many girls love to look great but i wonder is how do you find your gym energy to go?
Thanks Girls!!! ;D :D ;) :) :-* :hyper:

Re:gym motivation
maybe if you started going to the gym and eating right, you would have enegry!
when you get in the groove of going to the gym, it will be no harder than taking a shower in the morning.
Like venus said, the rewards or going to the gym (lose weight, tone up, great abs, butt, legs, more energy, more strength, more stamina) far outweigh the 45 minutes 3-4 times a week it takes.
Besides, when your diet is right, and your exercise is right, it builds incredible self-worth, self-esteem and will affect ALL other areas of your life. When you look good and feel good, it gives you a lot of self-assurance to do whatever you want to do.
You will become a new person!

I totally agree with VenusGoddess... You feel more confident when you are on stage after putting hard work into yourself. I lost ten lbs...slowed down on drinking.

Re:gym motivation
Sometimes when you first start working out, you can find that you are at a loss for energy. This is just your body getting used to working out. After a while, you will find that you feel out of energy when you DON'T workout. It's kinda weird...but, if you are just starting out...don't quit. The lack of energy will soon turn around!!
Good luck!

Re:gym motivation
I TOTALL AGREE WITH RYAN AND VENUS ON THIS~
I use to be 198 and I HATED THE GYM, I HAD NO ENERGY, NO MOTIVATION!
But what got me motivated was first a great support team. Which was and still is my MOTHER WHO I LOVE SOOO VERY MUCH! She would be awake at 5.30 am and made sure I got up to hit the gym.
Then I cleaned up my diet tons and stop eating junk food. Once you eat clean you don't even crave that junky food. I now look at it and think YUCKIE that is just chocolate covered in lard!
I wasn't always so motivated to hit the gym. It takes time and you will have your bad and good days. But what keeps me going is my new body how I am shrinking and I can wear single number clothes and not double! Being able to walk into the room and feel liek I am the most beautiful women in there.
After your workout you just feel so good! Especially if you come out all sweaty and sore you know you had a good workout! Just try it for at least 2 weeks think of your abs being more toned, think of that nice tight firm bootie and up on stage and not feeling yucking about your body or tuggin on your clothes and you will find yourslef a gym nut like all of us!
Good luck sweetie,
Honey

Re:gym motivation
Kitty,
I worked out for a year or so but never really seen results until recently when I cleaned up my diet! I was like oh okay that was missing from my routine.
Then I just started to hit the gym really hard and seeing my results fall off of me was so great and that keeps me motivated. Then I came across this site and I want to start dancing in July so that in itself is what keeps me moving.
I also do pilates and yoga and tons and tons of cardio! My diet constains protien, brow rice, tons of water and fruits, veggies. I don't eat to much fish but I do eat it from time to time. You can also do some protein shakes, or the power bars just look at what is in it before you buy it.
Go out and get those fitness mags. like Shape, Fitness, Muscle and Fitness for women those are all great even Oxygen that is what really taught me how to eat better and workout better!
Thanks again for the kind words! I am trying so hard!

Re: gym motivation
I try to imagine myself on stage. I go back to how I feel when the crowd is looking at me and how bad I feel when Im not confident. That pushes me to work out harder so I will feel confident that next time I go on stage.

Re: gym motivation
i don't go to a gym-- i just work out at home. much easier to work out when everything you need is right there. very hard to be all 'i can't lift weights, i can't climb stairs' when it's right there in front of you.
