How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
ok.. lets say you walk into the club at 6 (early) and you are on the floor until 9:30, and have made maybe 20 bucks! The club is dead, and there way more women then men!
Would you leave?
How much longer would you stick it out?
in general, when does your club get busy, and how long do you "stick it out" before you think the night will be no good?
if you usually average between 200-300 before 9pm, and there is nothing, would you stay?
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
In general, I'd try to stick it out. There have been plenty of nights where I've made practically all my money at the very end of the night. There have been lots of times where I made all my money off of one guy at the end of the night.
I'd ask myself:
are other girls leaving?
is it a historically busy night of the week? (ex: tues vs. fri)
is there an event going on that lets out later?
do I have anything important to do the next morning?
when I'm over it I'm over it though. Once I'm over it I might as well leave because even if somebody wants dances, well, I'm over it.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
The clubs I've seen have fairly rigorous shift rules. You don't just leave, and the amount you pay on tip out plus an early leave fine might make
leaving early prohibitive. For instance on a 4 a.m. close the first
cut occurs Mon-Thurs at 2 a.m.. If you arrive at 6 p.m. you go on a
list based on reporting time and are eligible to leave at 2 a.m. w/o penalty if the manger says so and it's not busy. A lot of girls arrive late at 10 or 11 and have to pay maximum stage fees plus a penalty for getting there late.
There are no early cuts on Friday or Saturday night ...period ..not withstanding that Saturday night is youth amateur night.
Use Wed. night as typical. Get there at 6 p.m. This lowers total house fee for the night and gets first priority to leave at 2 a.m.
The club gets busy with after work guys from 4 p.m. to about 7 :30.
It's dead from 7:30 to 8:30 or 9:00 and then suddenly is fairly busy
from 9 to 12:30. Theres another lull from about 12:30 t0 1:30 and then is busy with people leaving 2 a.m. (sometimes 1 a.m. close) bars
in the suburbs. (Example Outback) From 1:30 to close fairly busy with
guys remembering the strip club bar is still open.
Most money to be made is after nine but before 1 a.m. VIP rooms at close are also a good bet. Leaving at 9 p.m. as a night shift dancer would be a bad bet. Vegas might be different but I'm talking about clubs that are NOT open 24 hrs a day.
Arriving at 6 (depends on club) you get the last of the after work office crown and trademen, you get the standard night rush andmaybe a late night rush. Leaving at 9 p.m. you miss two pulses of business.
I'm talking about a larger club say 25 to 50 girls. Your club may vary depending on market.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
Nowadays a club cannot be measured by how much money you've made by a certain time.
I measure a club by working a full 5-6 day week. Everyday is different. Guys come in at different times. And many big city clubs have more dancers than customers.
Some days you may make $200-$300 early and others maybe make nothing at all in 8 hours. It just depends on the clientele, amount of dancers and amount of business.
If after a week or two you see all bad and no good, it then may be time to search for greener pastures.
This business takes patience nowadays. Money is up and down.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I tend to make all my money off a few customers, so I would stay. Yesterday I got to the club at 8 and had made like ten dollars by 11, and then a customer came in and blew $1200 on me.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I stick it out. I never go on the floor before 10pm (except Sunday when I go on the floor at 8pm). There have been nights that I only make $20 by 1am, and then a crowd comes in and I make $600 from 1-4, or like last weekend, where I get a guy that comes in and spends $1000 in VIP. Also, we have to pay house fee when we start our shift, so I won't leave if I haven't made that back and then for the fact that once we're on the floor, club rules prohibit any girl leaving until the end of the shift (unless there is a valid reason: i.e. family emergency, being sick, etc).
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I stick it out to the best of my ability. We need to get permission from management before we can leave, but I have had nights where I only made $20-$30, had to pay the house fee and the the garage (which sucked) but then the third night was great! I've seen girls come in on a slow night 12-1 a.m., hit the stage, and then they are headed up to the VIP room. It just depends.
Tampafldancer, which club are you in? I would think Tampa clubs are always hopping in one way or another.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I went to a couple of clubs in Pasco County while in FL on vacation. I was surprised how busy they were. Could be because the rules have been loosened.

Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I'd say stick it out regarless. I've heard countless stories of girls not making anything and then had 1-2 customers at the end of the night make the shift. ;)
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
It only takes one person to make your night- I stay until I am too tired. I have to drive 30 minutes home so as soon as I fell real tired I leave.
there are nights when there is only 10 people in the place and just when I am ready to give up one of those people will take me to the private room and spend lots of money.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
At my club, the night time has the most customers, but they day has the business men that spend more. I know alot of girls that do very well in the day, but it's from regulars or mostly from 1 or 2 men, where night shift is 1 dance here, 2 there, so on.
I can't ever get my claws in the day crowd, because I get far too bored and lose motivation!
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I agree that if you're already there and "suited up", there's no point in leaving early. I've had innumerable nights where I haven't earned s#!t by 11pm, but then a couple of guys will walk in and make my night.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I had a night a couple of weeks ago where I got to work at 5pm and didn't sell a single dance until 10:30. I didn't start making $$$ until after 12midnight. I stayed until 5am and walked with about $550. Believe it or not, that was a Friday night. There were some girls who didn't make any $$ at all and some girls who actually lost $$ because we have to pay our fees up front.
Some nights are just not good for anyone. If you can stick it out and try to have a good attitude it's possible to make money on a bad night. Of couse the good attitude part can be very difficult after spending several hours at work and not making any $$$. I usually don't make my money until after 11pm anyways. So I really wasn't shocked. I was surprised at how bad it was overall though. Some dancers are good at dealing with the guys who come in early. Those guys annoy the hell out of me. I just don't have the patience. I usually do my hair, put on my makeup, have a few drinks and talk to the other dancers in the back until the guys with $$$ come in.
Just pretend like you are an actress playing a role.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
Definately stick it out.
Murphy's law suggests that if you do leave early, about 10 minutes later a tour bus with "Forbes" written across the side will roll-up, out pouring a crowd of about 40 drunken business execs, fumbling 'Franklins as they stumble to the entrance register.
(.. this goes for taking an unplanned day off too..)
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
I'll pull the chute pretty early. There's a $20 fee to split before your shift's over at my club, so it's not too painful.
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
When I was working in Melbourne I would be on the floor by 9-9.30pm planning to work to 5am. I would always not push myself until after mid-night... hence I would always make my "fee" before mid-night (or one dance - stage or lap).
Just having that initial dance or making my fee before midnight is all it takes for me to make money.
Generally I work better between midnight and 4am. After that time (if the club is still open, sometimes it shuts around 3am)... well.. guys have either spent all their $$, are way too drunk (not easy to handle or just annoying) or want more 'action'.
With the new 3am closing time here in Gold Coast... I won't know until I've worked for a little while since the club I'm planning to work in isn't allowed to have a 3am 'lock in' (hence closes at 3am even Fri/Sat nights).
Cairns.. well.. I didn't work during a 'typical' week since Good Friday stuffs up the opening/closing hours and rules a bit.
In my previous Gold Coast club, I did best between midnight and 4am too...
Re:How long do you stay at your club if you dont see any potential customers?
It's never busy until 11 or later at my club. I always just sitck it out. On weekdays there's prolly never more than 20 guys (And 10-12 girls) And I still manage to pull 150-200. (And thats good.) I still haven't busted my ass on weekends and only pull like 250-300. That's been good for me so far, but some girls have said they've made 400-600 on weedays and 700-800 on weekends. I guess I just need to find the niche.
