I hardly ever buy a girl a drink when they are hustling drinks. The only time I buy a girl a drink is when I offer.
If they get you a beer, nurse it. Always take your drink with you when you leave the table (obviously), then just dump it. If they order you a shot, get a lemon drop made with sugared water & a lemon slice. The club I used to work at had a HUGE drink hustle going on, and when I first started, I always got trashed too. You'll find that you make more money if you don't get out of control with the alchy.

ALL the clubs here where I live are "buy me drinky", and I had a problem the last time I was working with getting drunk. When I go back in a month or 2 my strategy is to order scotch and water, but have the bartender put only a drop of scotch in the drink. That way the customer will smell booze if he picks up my drink (most people find scotch too strong for their palate, so it's quite easy to pick up on), and I'll be flushing alot of the booze from my system via the H2O. While this obviously wouldn't work if you hate scotch, it's what I've devised for my own upcoming drinky-drinky delema!! ;)
My kid's mom used to stumble in the door damn near every night. I had to carry her home a few times.
Inform the bartender that you wish to have your drinks virginized. The customers need not know and you will still make money.
What Gynger said makes the most sense for girls working in bar clubs. My bartender always gives me this thick grapejuice drink that looks exactly like wine. The way it coats the glass and everything. It's not legal for me to drink in the club anyway, I'm only 19. So they usually keep an eye on me. Do any other girls under 21 have this situation? Just curious.
we have "code" names for drinks, if we get a choice of what we want. the code names the waitress or bartender know means no alki in it. either that or talk to the bartender ahead of time and tell em to virginize it like gynger said
The first club I worked at did drink hustling and I drank juice to keep from getting trashed since I often had class the next day, but I gained weight from all the sugar! The virgin lemon drop sounds like a great idea, or you could have her make the first drink "real" for those jerks who insist on sniffing it or whatever.
Gynger is spot on. You should have a drink reserved for you. If a customer offers, just say to the bartender 'the usual' or something. They will pay you the price of an alcoholic drink but you will just be drinking something as tame as milk. You could always pocket that extra cash or give a percentage of it to the bartender as a thank-you.
Just be happy that you get the drink money as a tip! I work at Deja Vu, and at the one I'm at, they started taking half of the drink money and the other half goes towards our rent, they say. But I paid $35 in drink chips one night and my rent was still as much as it would have been without them!!
Another option is to pick a drink with very little alchohol in it. I do this at work, because I make less money when I am drunk. I usually pick a shooter, like Buttery Nipples - they are the same price, but there is much less alcohol in them, so I can order and drink as many as I want, without ever feeling it.
You can even have the bartender make you a special shooter that is all juice and a splash of alcohol, and give it a stupid name and order that all the time. That minimizes the risk that someone will feel deceived because they catch on that you are drinking water.
This is a great strategy. We don't have a drink hussle but I still use it!Quote:

Nikki, what is your "rent" at DejaVu? Damn, those fuckers are mean!
I would get a commission when I had to drink hustle at least.....
For all you boys who have a problem with the drink hustle model, you must understand that it is a requirement for dancers to do it. Some clubs who require the drink hustle can get fired for not meeting their "quota". If you hate it, I suggest you go to another bar 'cause those girls HAVE TO give you that pressure....
Hell, even without the hussle at my club, my customers want to know that I am DRUNK!!!! Assholes!
Here in Guam it is soooo worth it to be a good drink hustler. The guys pay $20 (min. there are also $50 & $100 drinks), you get 1/2 of whatever you sell. So you could easily have a great night just going on stage and selling drinks (ie: no fighting off octopus hands in a private dance LOL!). I can't wait to go back to work!! ;D
Foxeee-
What club in Guam do you work at? Did you go through an agency?
Right now, I'm not working. I live in GU with my boyfriend, and I have to wait til he's deployed to go back to dancing. Anyway, I initially came out directly to G-spot. It's a pretty decent club and you can find the listing on Adultstaffing. The Bestdancers also books 3 clubs out here all of which are pretty good as well.
Right now business is a little slow, but it's still better than some places back in the states (they pay here. ie: no house fee! ;D).
