Daily Poem
I am trying to not clutter up the board with a lot of poems and stuff, but I though this is one that is worth sharing. Ahh.. lost youth and memories.

The Lost House
A neighbor girl went with me near the creek,
entered the new house they were building there
with studs half-covered. Alone in summer dark,
we sat together on the plywood floor.
The shy way I contrived it, my right hand
slipped insinuatingly beneath her blouse
in new maneuvers, further than I planned.
I thought we floated in the almost-house.
Afraid of what might happen, or just afraid,
I stopped. She stood and brushed the sawdust off.
Fifteen that summer, we knew we could have strayed.
Now, if I saw it in a photograph,
I couldn't tell you where that new house stood.
One night the timbered hillside thundered down
like a dozen freight trains, crashing in a flood
that splintered walls and made the owners run.
By then I had been married and divorced.
The girl I reached for in unfinished walls
had moved away as if by nature's course.
The house was gone. Under quiet hills
the creek had cut new banks, left silt in bars
that sprouted alder scrub. No one would know,
cruising the dead-end road beneath the stars,
how we had trespassed there so long ago.

Re:Daily Poem
When I was younger........
I had my first poem published when I was 6.
Mothers Day
"For my dear mothers sake,
May she never die,
And for my own souls's sake,
May I never live to see her die."
Grim huh? :)

Re:Daily Poem
okay.......here is my contribution:
Not Enough
Gestures perfected to a science,
movements slow & simple,
grace me with seduction,
let your inventions enfold me,
hold me fast
until you're satisfied;
slip your fingers down
one strand of my dark hair,
putting it back into place;
barely brush against my skin
as the breath catches in my throat;
reach for my hand and lace
your fingertips through it,
entwine me with you;
tell me the things you
want me to whisper in your ear
to make your passion flow;
watch my glossed lips as they
move around the words
and you think of how to kiss me;
wrap the songs around our
dizzying interaction,
saying how we belong to the night;
physical love is not enough,
maybe I still need an excuse,
but with every day that passes,
I breathe luminous hate for you...

Re:Daily Poem
Giselle...
That brings up excellent imagery and I definitely did not expect the close. Very dark.
physical love is not enough,
maybe I still need an excuse,
but with every day that passes,
I breathe luminous hate for you.
Well done. I would like to see more. Thank you.
The Patron
Lonely and melancholy entering the room.
Determined to buy youth at any cost.
Images of young lust and Old loves,
Poignant with regret and nagging loss.
The lie of youthful immortality
Now replaced by the inevitable old truth.
Twenty dollars to forget today
and buy a moment of the past.
The irony of two souls intertwined
But never to love or to share the same mind
At the end of the night he re-enters today
And she goes home to question life.
