my best friend and i go to different schools, but in the same town. We are moving in together in August. Right now we are on opposite sides of the state so we probably won't see each other again til August or so. My other good friend is from my home town so when I go back to school she'll be an hour away.
As far as girls in the club...I'm nice to them, but I don't go outta my way to get to know them or hang out with them in anyway. Both of my good friends know about me dancing, and are cool with it.
I usually only have one real close friend. I was really shy and kind of a nerd (glasses, I didn't know that flat irons existed) in high school n such. Hehe I'm Miss Most Bashful from 2002. (if they could just me now)
I got burnt by a few girls from the clubs. I got really burnt by one outside the club. I got burnt by leagues of people. If you can find one true friend, you've found a treasure of gold.
You could just be like my ex, and make all the superficial aquaintances you can find, then build your world around them. To me, this isn't worth one real friend. He is loyal to those who don't deserve it; they have burnt him so many times and he just keeps coming back for more.
From what I have seen, alot of the girls in the clubs are very superficial and shallow, out there looking for the BBD. Fuck loyalty. Hey, be careful what you say and to who. People won't think twice about toasting your ass.
I would LOVE to have some trustworthy, real friends. I thought it was just me, but it seems as if alot of us feel this way. I do have a couple from high school, but even they have dishonored me a time or two. People just don't seem to want what I want out of a friendship, nor do they have the same standards for friends.
standards, and consideration??? what are those??? Whenever I see someone do soemthing nice for me, meaning soemone who doesn't know me I am thrown back in amazement. I am so appreciative to those few who are considerate. They are a rarity. This isn't how life, shit the world is supposed to be.

baby...the world is cold and cruel (as are most of the people in it)...always has been...always will be...the sooner you learn that...the better off you will be...
After just spending an hour at the salon getting my nails/feet done, I can comfortably say that I don't mind not having many girl friends. Women are so fake and shitty to each other...all propogated by Cosmo, Marie Claire, etc...
....all of which I read while there so that I don't have to talk to any of the bored housewives talking about each others "fun" new bath salts...bleh!
I've never had many girlfriends either, even before I started dancing. Most of my friends have always been guys. A lot of female "friends" I have had in the past have been two-faced and have talked shit about me behind my back. I know not all girls are like that, but I just have really bad luck with making female friends. Right now I only have one female friend that I talk to on a regular basis, and I have known her since age 12.
I think it's especially hard to have female friends if you're a dancer. Other dancers see you as competition and women who are not dancers often don't want to associate with you because they think that you're going to steal their boyfriends, or they think that all dancers are sluts and we're all on drugs. I've had many women who are not dancers talk trash about me for stripping, and yet these women are sleeping with multiple guys for free(which I don't do), and they are always broke and begging other people for money. WTF? ???
My guy friends are more laid-back and direct-if I say or do something that they don't like, they will tell me to my face. Like someone already mentioned, I would rather have a couple of true female friends that I can count on instead of a lot of catty ones. :)
Topaz-
I do know that the world is cold and cruel. I just get so sick of it. For now got to go, I'm headed to the beach. I'll reflect more on this very soon.....
