Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
We have some friends that use the pole for all it's worth...
One is ex-Cirque du Soleil and is amazing to watch...
While others use the pole more as a prop and just spin around it..
Just out of curiousity..
How do you use the pole when you are on stage...(if you do stage)?
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
oh its definetley a tool lol atleast from my perspective and not easy to do atleast when you want to make it look good lol
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
I agree with Destiny, definately a tool more so than a prop.
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
Im verry good at pole work so i use it as a tool very much so...hehe
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
currently just as a prop...i'm working on my upper body strength. but once i can do polework, i doubt i'll do it often. it's impressive, but i don't think it's all that sexy.
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
A prop- pole tricks aren't my style, yet they're an amazing skill to have. I ooze sex, or so I've been told, that's my skill...
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
Eh, if you can do a lot of really awesome pole tricks, it works to your advantage. If you can only do a few, it doesn't, you just look like all the other dancers. Plus a lot more bruises and such. If you do none, you set yourself apart.
Personally, I like doing them, so I do them, whatever makes me smile on stage helps.
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
I have never done any pole tricks, it doesn't fit in with my style, I am an "ooze sex" style dancer too, lol. I am thinking about learning though. One club I work in has poles that spin and some of my co-workers there are amazing to watch, they really rev the crowd!
There are some crowds that love pole tricks and some that couldn't really care less, but in bad times like these you wanna please as many people as you can!!!
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
I think that if you can do pole tricks go for it. Do them as much as you can. I admire the girls that do them.
The other day this average looking girl was doing some pretty impressive moves(many pole tricks as well). I commented on how I really like her tricks. She was in one movement walking on her hands and threw her legs up on the inside of the upper part of the runway and just hung there. I rarely see girls walk on their hands on the runway.
She told me that she could teach me if I wanted her to. I said no thanks, she then said that she had to have something to compete with girls like me. She said all I have to do is stand there and I can make money. I thanked her for the comment and her kindness.
Guys love pole tricks. They are a crowd pleaser.
I still do very well without them though.
Re:Stripper Pole - Prop or Tool?
It really depends what club I am working at and what mood I am in or what I am dancing to.
Back on the east coast...I tended to be the more "gothic" dancer complete with loud scary music, thigh high boots, long black braids and pole work...it got the crowd hyped and it was a lot of fun.
In vegas...especially at Sapphire with there lame small stage and half a pole..I tended to more so attempt to "ooze sex" and sort of just sway around rather than attempt any significant amount of pole work. In Vegas your lucky if people even realize you are on the stage...so pole work here is merely a waste of energy.
