I need a good reggae cd and more
Ok so for those of you who didn't already know this, I do private parties out of NYC. Most of the music i work with is alternative music. Prodigy is my favorite. I haven't found a cd that I can play straight through for a 1hr show, and it not get to boring or slow. I'm hoping to get a good raggae cd, or anything that has a good "club" beat to it, very "uppy" music. its what the guys here seem to like best. Any suggetions would be great.
Thanks,
Ivy :)
Re:I need a good reggae cd and more
have you tried Rob Zombie's "MUsic to Strip By' yet?
Re:I need a good reggae cd and more
haven't tried that, i didn't want to waste god nows how much money on cds that i wasn't sure if their good or not. I'm going to look into that one though, i take it its alternative music? (stupid question considering its Rod Zombie)
Re:I need a good reggae cd and more
Crystal Method, "Tweekend", would probably be good for you--though it's not really reggae. You can put it on and let it play the whole f**king way through, though. If you like Prodigy you will like this as well.
Another CD you could play straight through, and is quite similar to Prodigy, is Front 242 "Front by Front", which is definitely their best CD.
Monkey Mafia has a very hot techno/reggae sound. Try their "Make Jah Music' from the "Shoot the Boss" CD. It has other good stuff, but playing it through would be a bad idea, there aren't many CDs you can do that with, except a few of the better techno mix CDs.
Or get the soundtrack to "Very Bad Things" (a very good movie), which has three excellent songs in your style--"Dirt" by Death in Vegas, "Battle Flag" by Pigeonhed (a remake of the Lo Fidelity All Stars track, which you would also love).
OK, the third one is slower, never mind, but it is very sultry number by Morcheeba--"Never an Easy Way".
Your best bet is to have a friend with a CD burning computer burn you your favorite tracks. Just make sure the quality is good, some of these downloaded songs are very poor quality, and they suck.
