Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
don't lie to your boyfriend.
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
Sounds like you're not in a place where dancing would be a good idea...in my observance, a bf who says he doesn't like the idea from the get-go will only get more and more negative about it when/if you start to dance.
There's lots of money in magazines, though don't expect that it will be 'classier' or 'more accepted' than dancing. And don't forget, those pictures will be around for life! You're a lot more likely to be seen by family/friends (eventually) if you do magazine stuff than if you're dancing...which is fine unless you're trying to keep it a secret.
Just something to think about..
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
Scarlett said, "and don't forget, those pictures will be around for LIFE!" LOL..... TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!
But seriously, if you're in the right club, and you've got the looks and attitude for modeling, then you can make more money dancing. However, (and I've done both), dancing is a LOT more work, and more-and-more of the clubs are going high-milage for the big bucks.
If you do the modeling, there's a lot of hustling there, too. It's not "sit on your butt all day and get paid for it". You've got to work and generate the biz, and eventually your family WILL find out that you're modeling.
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
My issue with the modeling is as other chicas said.. the pics are around forever!! I have had some pics done, just to send to agencies for priv. work (not modeling) and I often wonder if 10 years down the line I am going to pay for it MAJORLY!! I can only imagine marrying somone in the public eye and having those photos on every newstand in the country. The idea makes me slightly nauseous!! lol
I personally love dancing! It's more than $$ to me (not much more, but a little more lol). I posted a similar question about telling a guy I'm seeing about dancing, and got a lot of good advice. Your situation is different because from what I gather this is a serious long term relationship as opposed to my new one. If you want to check out what the girls told me do a search for "when should I tell him?" My advice, decide what is more important to you: making $$ dancing.. or him! Go from there. but don't lie!! It will end up biting you in the ass (pardon my french!)
God luck, and let us know what you decide. SW is here for you! :-*

Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
I know dancers who would never do nude modeling. They don't mind taking their clothes off, but they don't want the images immortalized.
I know nude models who would never strip. It's beneath them to take their clothes off for strange guys.
Just go with your own sensibilities from what you can stand and from what you and your boyfriend can live with. Yeah, a picture is forever. Yeah, in stripping, you have to put up with guys who aren't the best examples of the gender.
I would venture that you don't have to worry terribly much about your pictures showing up later unless you: 1) are amazingly world-class stunning 2) have your images acquired and used by someone unscrupulous 3) become famous or at least some public figure. There are millions of nude model shots floating around the public domain.
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
Thanks ladies,
Yep, still up in the air. I will do the modeling as it is great money and fun and I have done some before and the issue of them being around forever isn't a huge concern as unless I become famous (I wish) then I doubt it will be a big deal. If friends judge me then they can get lost! I wish people didn't judge girls who make a lot of money in these industries. The chance of someone buying a magazine and seeing it is slim anyway but it is a risk I'm ok with taking. Hell, it's only skin right! Anyway I wouldn't never lie to my boyfriend. He dated a girl he met dancing in a club once so he isn't majorly against it, he is just a bit protective of me. I have danced and performed all my life and I know I can handle stripping, but I think he thinks it may change me.
I'll let you know what I end up doing.
Thanks again :)
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
To be honest, when I see media news on celebrity pasts, racy photos, and sex tapes...ect., I don't even think twice. They are just as human as us non MEDIA famous celebrities=) who pose, dance,... ect. The ones who criticize are probaly the ones who go to clubs, read magazines...... or wish they had what it takes to make it in these professions. Im sure you are beautiful... and you seem to have the right confidence and motive in life. You need to do what really makes you happy and concentrate on yourself. Im sure your man will be supportive. and in the worst case scenario... still make sure to pursue everything that makes you happy=) I think if you are physically and mentall able then why not do both. Use it all while you can =) Good Luck
Re:Nude modeling vs dancing
Thanks Silky,
Good advise! I did a shoot the other day and it was really fun and hard work but the photographer and manager were really really happy so I'm excited. I don't look like a 'dirty' girl at all so I think they will look sexy and I see them as an expression of my sexuallty and femininity. People like you and I have a good relaxed attitude that a lot more people should take on as people's judgements can be harsh and unfair. I don't take myself or what I do too seriously, but it's fun and the money is great so I'm fine with it now. I have knocked back offers for slightly more hard-core photographic stuff (like 2 girls or sexual activities) as I would only EVER pose alone and no touchy stuff. The human body is beautiful and I think a lot of girls would love a glossy pin up pf themselves and any guy that sees it and judges me should go and spend the $15 to buy the mag
One of the girls I know that was shoot in one of the mags open leg last month has been picked up for a feature film and will make $40,000 in 2 months just from the shoot. Directors are constantly contacting my manager for girls for main stream work in films etc now as they want open minded pretty girls. Interesting! How times have changed hey.
Thanks again :)
